The recently concluded Mr. Gay World 2010 in Oslo, Norway was an outstanding success and if you have been following the pageant, the winner was Mr. Charl Van Den Berg from South Africa.
Oslo welcomed the 2010 delegates with open arms and I’m sure, Mr. Gay World Philippines, David Noel Bosley had a great experience and have lots of memories to share.
What I found on the site is that Mr. Gay World 2011′s host city will be Manila, Philippines! The welcome video was recently uploaded on Youtube and I am glad to share it with you.

Huffington Posts’ Editor-in-Chief Arianna Huffington’s campaign called “Move Your Money” started in December 2009. It’s a campaign which was a result of the stubbornness of big banks like Citi, Wells Fargo, and JP Morgan to name a few that we need to correct. After these banks received bailout money from the taxpayers, they continue to provide lavish bonuses and charge customers as high as 30% in credit card interest rates.
I received a bill today from a credit card where I have been a member in good excellent standing for over ten years and they have the nerve to increase my interest rate to 29%!! What is that all about? I have never been late in my payments, I have always paid more than the minimum required and this is what I get? I am tired of these big banks not looking out for my interest….
That is why I am joining the campaign. I AM MOVING MY MONEY! I have accounts with big banks such as Citi and TD Bank. It’s time to show my community bank that my money belongs to them.
Filipino-American J.R. Celski wins bronze
Filipino-American J.R. Celski, 19, (whose tatoo of sun and stars of the Philippine flag made him more famous) won Olympic bronze along with the U.S. men’s 5,000m relay team on Friday at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
Canada won gold with a time of 6:43.61, South Korea won silver with a time of 6:43:845, and the United States won bronze with a score of 6:44.498.

My first bet for Pilipinas Got Talent – Jovit Baldivino
The 16-year old contestant Jovit Baldivino didn’t strike me as someone who was going to sing with a powerful voice as he did on Pilipinas Got Talent. It was striking as much as impressive. I’m sure in no time, he’s going to meet Arnel Pineda. And imagine his perfect diction while singing in English.. and the boy is as humble as can be!

Tsunami Warning Issued in Hawaii, Russia, Guam, Japan, Philippines and Australia
Let’s hope and pray that this tsunami would be minimal. Following the 8.8 magnitude earthquake in Chile, a tsunami warning was issued in Hawaii all the way to the islands of the Philippines.
According to Star Bulletin:
Hawaii is under a tsunami warning this morning following a massive 8.8-magnitude earthquake that struck central Chile.
The tsunami is expected to arrive in Hawaii about 11:04 a.m., reaching Hilo first with waves that could reach 12 feet. Wave heights of six to nine feet were expected on the other side of the Big Island and 9 to 12 feet on Maui, according to the civil defense agencies on those islands.
Civil defense officials said they were “preparing for the worst.”
State Civil Defense expected to sound outdoor siren systems in all counties at 6 a.m. to alert residents and and visitors to evacuate coastal areas.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued the warning at 12:46 a.m., saying a tsunami has been generated that could cause damage along coastlines of all islands.
The Ewa Beach-based tsunami center says the first waves are expected to arrive at 11:19 a.m. Saturday.
Tsunami warnings were issued for a wide area in the Pacific, including South America, Australia and New Zealand, Japan, the Philippines, Russia and many Pacific islands.
The quake hit 200 miles southwest of the capital, Santiago, at a depth of 22 miles at 3:34 a.m. (8:34 p.m. Friday Hawaii time), the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The quake struck Chile early Saturday, collapsing buildings, killing at least 64 people and downing phone lines. President Michele Bachelet declared a “state of catastrophe” in central Chile and said the death toll was rising.
“We have had a huge earthquake, with some aftershocks,” Bachelet said, appealing from an emergency response center for Chileans to remain calm. “Despite this, the system is functioning. People should remain calm. We’re doing everything we can with all the forces we have. Any information we will share immediately.”
8.8 Magnitude Earthquake hits Chile – Pictures
Chile – An 8.8 magnitude earthquake hit the country of Chile in the early morning hours of Saturday, February 27th. The quake struck at 0634 GMT about 56 miles northeast of the city of Concepcion and approximately 317 km southwest of the capital, Santiago.
So far, there have been six deaths reported according to outgoing President Michelle Bachelet and that she could not rule out that there may be more.
A warning was issued by the US to countries such as Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Antarctica, Panama and Costa Rica.
Here are the first pictures of the damages in Chile. Let us pray for the safety of the people of Chile and that the damage and casualties would not be any closer to that of Haiti’s recent earthquake.
Jenny McCarthy’s son may never have had Autism
The most outspoken celebrity which has become the poster for Autism is Jenny McCarthy. Jenny McCarthy has spoken publicly against MMR shots ( immunization for measles, mumps and rubella) for children. She has never stopped the fight since her child was diagnosed with autism in 2005.
Now, her 7-year old no longer shows signs of autism and according to a Time Magazine article (Jenny was interviewed as well), Jenny’s son Evan suffers from a totally different kind of ailment which is called Landau-Kleffner syndrome. It is a “a rare childhood neurological disorder that can also result in speech impairment and possible long-term neurological damage.”
Marie Osmond’s teenage son, Michael Blosil commits suicide
Not long after Andrew “Boner” Koenig was found dead at a Vancouver park after reportedly killing himself due to depression, another heart-breaking news surfaces. TMZ.com reports that Marie Osmond‘s teenage son, Michael Blosil jumped from his downtown L.A. apartment building. Sources at Entertainment Tonight said that a note was left behind saying that the teenager wanted to commit suicide to end his life-long battle with depression.
I have been a fan of Donnie and Marie and this is a sad day. Donnie Osmond asked by releasing a statement saying, “Please pray for my sister and my family.”
Our hearts go out to the Osmond family.
Ransom drop made to free 18 Filipino crew on board Greek ship

It was reported by Washington Post that a ship (Navios Apollon) seized by Pirates along the coast of Somalia two months ago had 18 Filipinos and one Greek citizen on board. The bulk carrier is only one of six ships being held by the Somali pirates.
An undisclosed amount of ransom money was dropped on Saturday for the release of the people on board according to the naval force.
Piracy is one of the ways Somalis have used to earn a living due to the civil war that is ravaging its country.
Let’s hope and pray for the safe release of the people on board.

The buzz around the blogosphere is about Taylor Lautner‘s supposedly photoshopped abs on one of the posters for Twilight’s New Moon release. The buzz went global and many fans (*Team Jacob) of the famous well-sculpted body of the then-jail bait Taylor Lautner immediately reacted.
The loyal ones of course, supported the actor with all their hearts. The others however were quickly tricked into thinking that Taylor’s physique is a product of photoshop.

An audio file circulating on the Internet, featuring a voice that sounds like Bong Revilla‘s, has dragged the senator into issues of election fraud in Cavite.
The reelectionist Revilla, in an interview, has denied that the tape is authentic and suggested that it may have been engineered.
He told PEP associate editor Rommel Llanes, at a dinner for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) last night, February 26, that sound bites from old recordings of his voice may have been spliced together to make him sound like he was talking about plans to cheat in the coming May 10, 2010 elections.

I can’t miss the Olympics anymore – - Live Streaming Video Available

In the past couple of weeks, I have heard nothing from my friends but news about the Olympics. Even listening and watching my daily podcasts, there are no other news than Olympic medals, triumphs and glory.
When Joannie Rochette competed in the women’s figure skating competition (after her mother’s sudden death from a heart attack), I missed it. She won a bronze medal for her performance. For missing that, I was so bummed. Those are the scenes that make the Olympics for me. It’s about continued resilience regardless of the situation.

Year 2010 – Home Improvement Projects
Last year, I didn’t have any projects done at the house. It was a time of conservation, a time to save. With a paycut at work and the economic downturn – everyone was tightening their belts and I was one of them. But this year, with our paycuts returned to normal (and I even expect to get a raise – woohoo!!), it’s time to get back to home improvements.
One thing I wanted to do was replace all carpets on the second floor into hardwood floors. It may be a little expensive but as long as you take care of it, hardwood floors can give you a lifelong satisfaction. Easier to clean, easy to maintain and less dust and germs. one way I thought would protect my hardwood floors is by getting customized area rugs that would protect the hardwood from scratches and all. It is the most convenient and least expensive way of protecting an investment. The thing is, you can even customize the design according to your liking and that’s what I like about it. As long as I keep within my budget, this project should go forth as planned. *~ Crossing my fingers! ~*

MANILA, Philippines – Filipino fashion designer Oliver Tolentino is asking his kababayans (countrymen) for support as he competes for the opportunity to have his creation worn by the on-stage awards escort in the 82nd Academy Awards.
Tolentino was picked as one of the nine finalists in the “Oscars Designer Challenge,” the second in a row that a Filipino made the cut.
Last year, designer Alan del Rosario was a finalist in the said competition.

Another Snow Storm? Come on…
I don’t know about y’all but the snow we’ve gotten on the east coast is more than enough. We’ve surpassed records after records of historical data and now, here comes another one. They are talking another 15 inches and seriously, I’m tired of it.
This just makes me look forward even more to my trip to Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo in the spring. Let’s just hope that the bad weather won’t follow me there. Arrgghhh.
KC Concepcion admits not having too much bonding time with her adopted brother
This year, mas gusto ni KC Concepcion na mag-focus sa kanyang singing career more than doing teleseryes or movies. Ito ang inihayag ni KC nang makausap siya ng PEP sa 10th anniversary party ng YES! magazine kagabi, February 23, sa NBC Tent.
“Meron kaming pinag-uusapan na teleserye, although ang focus namin this year is music talaga and I think na-miss din ng mga tao yun,” sabi ng 24-year-old actress-singer. “But you know, I really love doing teleserye. I really enjoyed doing my work in Lovers in Paris and I really love to do one again.”
