When love of food goes online – SUCCESS!

I read blogs.  That’s part of keeping my blog up-to-date.  I visit all kinds of blogs that tackle many different subjects.  It could be a religious, personal, travel or food blog.  I read them.  That is where I take my ideas from and I actually follow quite a few blogs just because I find their content of great interest and some of them have become really good friends of mine.

Being Filipino and all, there are food blogs that I follow and food blogs that I don’t follow.  The food blogs that I don’t follow is due to one reason and one reason only.  The posts are simply about Pinoy foods that I already know how to make and have already tried.  It doesn’t interest me much.

The food blogs I follow are the blogs which go beyond their comfort zone and try almost anything and everything under the sun and provides a review or a recipe of the dish. They are generally not concentrated on Filipino dishes because I have had most of them.

There is one blog that stands out.  The blog has a mix of contributors ranging not only from age and maturity but of a wide range of profession as well.  The contributors are IT Professionals, Doctors, Nurses and the like who simply have one thing in common.  The love of food.  They blog about a variety of cuisines such as Korean, Thai, Filipino, and many other types.

They blog about their dining experiences at different places throughout Chicago, Las Vegas, or even as far as Singapore.   The photos that accompany the posts are taken by the contributors themselves and they are scrumptious shots that would make your mouth water so much, you would want to try the dish or the restaurant.

Here’s a sample shot of Prawn Noodle Soup.  Gosh, I’m hungry now!

They will provide you the restaurant’s website at the end and the range of dollar amount you would expect to pay for when you dine at the place.

You should check them out.  The website is aptly called “QwekQwek“.  If you don’t know  what QwekQwek stands for or what it really is, read their About Us page.  You will find it very interesting most specially if you’re not Filipino.
