Why the seat belt commercial video below became viral.

This is just pure speculation on my part on why the video below has become viral. I first saw the video on a post by my fellow blogger, Bluepanjeet. Then, the same day, I received an email from my brother with the same video urging us to listen. The video had become viral and has reached over 10 million views in a few days.

The video is “heartwarming” because you see a family saved by wearing a seat belt and preventing a loss of a family member. It touched a lot of nerve because when someone dies, regardless of the cause – it is the ones who are left behind who suffer. And in this video, that “suffering” was prevented in the form of a seat belt and what’s best is that the seat belt was represented by the family.

According to statistics, 35,000 people die in motor crashes every single year and nearly half or 50% of those could have been prevented if the victims had worn seat belts according to the data published by James Madison University. From 1975 to 2007, more than 240,000 passengers who were in car crashes would have died if they hadn’t been wearing seat belts, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. More than 15,000 lives were saved by seat-belt use in 2007 alone. – Source: eHow.com
