Just a little diversion won’t help. Life is stressful these days.

What do you do when you’re stressed out? Do you go out to the park, sit still and watch people go by? Do you go to the beach and listen to the waves so it will calm you? As different as we all are, our ways of dealing stress varies as well. You can be one who would go to the gym and work yourself out until you’re exhausted and that’s how you deal with stress. That’s fine as well.

Online Casino Gaming is also one way for other folks to get away from it all. It’s not the usual thing that people do but many do enjoy playing games on line. I have dabbled with it before and I must say that the games online have become better and better through the years. The graphics are better, the interaction is quite interesting as well. It’s like playing the real thing.

These days, with the issues surrounding our world – people look for ways to relieve stress. A day at the spa an sometimes do it for me as well, or a simple walk by the lake. It’s hard not to take a break from our busy lives because it can easily take its toll on us.

Remember the cliche? “Take time to stop and smell the roses”? It’s a must. You cannot neglect your body. Listen to what it says and if anything you know how to do that relaxes you come to mind, don’t hesitate. Do it.

What if you can voice out your experience from an online business and how you were treated?

We all have experiences in purchasing something online.  We get treated well, or we get treated badly.  The thing about the online sites that help me decide when I should purchase or not is based on the reviews I read about those sites online.  There is a forum or a guide where these services are reviewed by consumers like you and me.

I remember when I had the satellite dish installed in my home when I moved away from Comcast before. If there was only a place that I could have read reviews that would have aided me in my decision to either go with satellite or cable, I could have saved a lot of headaches and an unpleasant experience.

Just remember that before you make your move on anything these days, Google is your friend.  Look up reviews of a product or service before you buy them.  I have found that when I do this, I always end up a winner.  Just like last Saturday when I had to purchase a new vacuum for my house.  I looked up reviews through consumer reports or even Amazon just to see what they think of the product I am buying.

I was able to purchase a vacuum that was reasonably priced and the vacuum is excellent.  I still couldn’t stop vacuuming after three runs because I can’t believe what this vacuum can do!  The reviews were right.

Next time – weigh everything through online reviews and forums before you buy a product or service.  It’s all worth it.

Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete wins Miss Universe 2010

Thanks to all the folks that came by during my LIVE BLOGGING of the Miss Universe Pageant.  Although I was disappointed with Venus Raj’s answer to the question posted by Mr. William Baldwin, I am still proud of her making it to the TOP 5.  Bb. Pilipinas-Universe Maria Venus Raj took 4th runner up.

Congratulations to Venus Raj as well because it seems easy for us to say that you could have answered better but we don’t know how it feels to be nervous on stage with the whole world watching you.  You did well for us and we are proud of you taking 4th Runner up.

Miss Mexico (which was tough to beat) won the coveted title of Miss Universe 2010.  Congratulations Mexico!!

While I haven’t blogged about the revenue my blogs earn, there was an interesting post about the 10 Richest Pinoy Bloggers 2010 using certain measurements available on the web.

Granted these are not real numbers (cause if it were, I would be a pro blogger by now! hehe!) but it was still fun to be on the Top 10.

The winner was Yugatech.com – we all know Yuga since he’s one of the most famous Pinoy Bloggers out there since the wave of Make Money Online started.

I just decided that I will never blog about my blogging income anymore since I find it best to keep it a secret. Marami kasing inggitera!! Hahahah!

Tiger Woods Divorce to Elin Nordegren Finalized

Throughout all the events that happened during the past year since the crash outside of Tiger Woods‘ home last Thanksgiving, Elin Nordegren kept her composure, avoided the media and interviews and kept her children safe.  She has remained the graceful one in this saga of events that ended her marriage to Tiger Woods.

There’s nothing that anyone can say about Elin Nordegren’s handling of this situation as she did not allow the media to manipulate her words or actions.  She was wise to understand that whatever goes out in the media will remain forever and probably wanted to protect her children from seeing anything when they grow up.  I say, kudos Elin.

Now that the divorce is final, Elin through her lawyers stated the following:

“We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future. While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us.”

“Once we came to the decision that our marriage was at an end, the primary focus of our amicable discussions has been to ensure their future well-being. The weeks and months ahead will not be easy for them as we adjust to a new family situation, which is why our privacy must be a principal concern.”

Details about the settlement is kept under wraps although it has been estimated that she could receive between $100 – $500 million.

Elin – you remained classy throughout.  We wish you the best!

Statement of President Aquino on the August 23, 2010 hostage-taking incident at the Quirino Grandstand

It was a sad day for Filipinos around the world today and a very sad day for the victims and the families of the hostage crisis that unfolded and ended bloodily at Quirino Grandstand. We share the grief of the victims and we offer our deepest condolences to their families.

President Noynoy Aquino issued a statement through the Government webiste via the via Official Gazette of the Republic of the Philippines.

[August 23, 2010]

With the rest of the Filipino people, I wish to offer our deepest condolences to the families of the victims whose lives were lost in the hostage situation at the Quirino Grandstand. The Secretary of Foreign Affairs has conveyed our deep feelings of sorrow to the Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China and the people of Hong Kong through Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald Tsang. I have tasked Secretaries Soliman and Lim to provide everything necessary for the recovery and return home of the survivors. I have directed the fullest cooperation with the Hong Kong authorities on the part of our officials.

From the onset of this incident, the hostage-taker seemed to not be belligerent, as shown by the release of hostages. These were encouraging signs.

We were going to wait him out. The idea was to let the ground commanders who are the experts in this field handle the operation with minimal interference from people who are less expert.

But the situation deteriorated rapidly when, during the course of the negotiations, he was given the letter of the Ombudsman in which she promised to personally review his case. As he was reading the contents of the letter, while talking to an unknown individual on the phone, he became increasingly agitated.

Sheesh! I’m glad I don’t live in Philadelphia – where the city wants to tax bloggers!

My first question was – - is this for real?  And upon reading further,  the Philadelphia City Paper write-up is real.  They want Philadelphia bloggers to pay a one-time $300.00 lifetime license for any blogs that are created with the intent to make a profit.

What’s next?  The lemonade stand?

I actually could not believe it but given the fact that cash-strapped cities are looking for ways to make revenue, they try to find anything that they can find to make money.

Pregnancy Rumors Abound: Pop Diva Mariah Carey and Reality Star Khloe Kardashian are both pregnant

Radar Online reported Wednesday that a source close to Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon confirmed the pregnancy by stating that “They’re both very excited and happy.” when pregnancy rumors about the 40-year old pop diva surfaced last week.

Another celebrity, Reality TV star Khloe Kardashian is also two-weeks pregnant with husband Lamar Odom according to Radar Online.

It’s just baby news all over.

We are happy for both couples. It’s about time we get some good celebrity news…

Hostage crisis in the Philippines becomes TOP News around the globe

Even Google Trends had “philippine news” due to the hostage crisis that went on for over a day. Chinese tourists aboard a tourist bus was held captive by an ex-policeman named Rolando Mendoza.

Tweets and Facebook statuses from the Philippines showed worry and nervousness due to the stand-off. The hostage crisis ended when Rolando Mendoza was shot in the head after killing seven of the tourists aboard the Hong Thai Travel Tourist bus.

The heat is on: Willie Revillame asks Court to confirm cancellation of his contract with ABS-CBN

Willie Revillame has shown no time of slowing down with reference to his request the release of his contract with ABS-CBN.  I’m thinking that this is going to be a long drawn-out process and if ever, Willie will probabaly stand to lose millions more to his lawyers fighting the fight with ABS-CBN.

Willie Revillame reportedly filed an P11.5 million for “moral damages” or “danyos-perwisyo” against ABS-CBN.  Willie strongly re-affirms that ABS-CBN violated their contract when they pulled the noontime show Wowowee and offered him a “pre-recorded” show when he was promised that Wowowee will return on the air by July 31st.

True Blood’s Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer weds

Us Weekly reports that the Trueblood Sookie Stackhouse and Bill Compton have tied the knot at a private Malibu residence last night.

The two, who started dating back in 2008 when they started filming HBO’s Trueblood got engaged in 2009.

This was a true “top-secret” wedding but we hear that the wedding went smoothly as planned. Congratulations Anna and Stephen!

Mariel Rodriguez quickly dispels pregnancy rumors due to indefinite leave.

Mariel Rodriguez has filed for an indefinite leave from noontime game show, Pilipinas, Win na Win and followed her rumored boyfriend Robin Padilla to India where the action star is spending a month for the holy month of Ramadan.

Rumors circulated immediately when Mariel Rodriguez filed for an indefinite leave from the game show stating,

“I’m super not pregnant. I’m really, really not pregnant. I just really needed a break.”

The fact that she left a game show that is barely a month old and support is definitely needed, the host/actress stated that she does not regret her decision.

Ricky Martin to publish his memoir entitled “ME”

Ricky Martin, the Latino pop star who “unsurprisingly” came out last March as being a homosexual is going to publish is memoir entitled, ME for the English version and YO for the Spanish version to be released on November 2nd.

I have always wanted to find out the inside struggles of a pop star and a very famous and sexy one at that, with reference to their sexuality.  How difficult was it to go through the motions, discovering yourself, meeting people – if you are a closeted homosexual in the public eye.   The book will touch on his childhood, his Menudo days and the phenomenal Living La Vida Loca.

This book will probably be more interesting than that of ex-NJ Governor James McGreevey.  I do hope that he lays it all out.  I want the juice.

First Dr. Laura with the N-Word. Now, backlash brewing over Jennifer Aniston using ‘R-word’ ?

Here’s going to be the test of words.  Will there be any bias because Jennifer Aniston is pretty and Dr. Laura is.. well (no comment).  Anyway, according to the Marquee blog – there is a brewing controversy with Jennifer Aniston’s use of the R-Word while a guest 103.5 at “Live with Regis & Kelly“.

When asked by a Kristin Cruz from the LA Radio station how she was able to embody Barbra Streisand on her recent Harper Bazaar’s Photo Shoot, she responded with:

“I play dress-up. I do it for a living, like a retard.”

I wonder what backlash she’s going to get from saying that.   Jennifer Aniston in on tour promoting her new film, The Switch.  I mean, I love Jennifer Aniston and I’m sure she didn’t mean to say that.  The fact is that she did.   I wonder if she would apologize before this rolls out to become a bigger issue in the coming days or will people understand that she was making a joke.   We shall see.

Cell Phone Technology in the US

I recently purchased an iPhone to replace my Blackberry.  You’ve read that probably a gazillion times here on my blog.  There is a certain feeling of being advanced in technology yet somewhat lagging as well.

You see, North America was lagging behind when it came to cell phone technology.  They’ve caught up a little as compared to Europe and Asia but not quite just  yet.

Why do I say this?  I remember going back home in 2000.  Everyone was asking me if my cell phone (which was from the US) had a mobile SIM card.  At that time, all I can say was “What? What is a SIM card?”   Then in 2002, I met someone from Hungary while I was in New York.  I took him shopping and he was asking me where he could get a local SIM card so he can use his phone without paying exorbitant charges when he got back to Europe.  We couldn’t find a place which sold them.

When I returned home in 2007, I finally had a US cell phone that used a SIM card.  I was able to purchase a local SIM card in Manila and use it locally to text and call my family back home.  It was great!  Visitors in the US didn’t have that luxury.

Lindsay Lohan could leave rehab earlier than expected.

It’s a good thing that Lindsay Lohan was ordered to go to rehab after her short stint in Lynwood jail.  The girl definitely needed help and it was good for the judge to have ordered her to go into rehab right after.

Drug and alcohol addiction have ruined many lives, specially celebrities.  But addiction is not limited to celebrities.  There are regular Joes out there who certainly need help but has not  gotten help because probably, they aren’t aware of their choices.

Was it a little too little, too late for Dr. Laura? N-Word Issue: Or are people simply tired of her?

The live show was aired. The caller was offended. The portion of the radio show was played on television shows and radio shows. The statement rocked the blogosphere. Dr. Laura apologized. She went on air on Larry King Live to state that she is leaving the show. Some people accepted her apology. Many people did not.

Do you think Dr. Laura would have gotten this much attention if this was the very first time she’s done something that attacked a group or an individual? Maybe and maybe not. But history shows that she has offended many before and I, for one – being a homosexual was offended by her comments that I read on Wikipedia. Calling homosexuals a “biological error” and equating homosexual men to that of “pedophiles” was extremely offensive.

Whoah whoah whoah… of course, Sarah Palin has something to say. The funny thing is that she is asking Dr. Laura not to quit but rather “reload”.   Hmmmm… why didn’t Palin think of “don’t retreat/reload” slogan in Alaska when she was governor?  She retreated.
