She’s been compared to Whitney Houston and Celine Dion. She’s the hottest pop star right now. Is Charice’s version of Listen going to be the “I’ll Always Love You” by Whitney Houston?
The original artist who sang and wrote I’ll Always Love You is Dolly Parton released in 1973 but when Whitney Houston sang a remake of the song in 1992, it became one of the best-selling singles of all time.
As you can see, Listen was originally sang by Beyonce but the song hit number 1 on iTunes Glee Albums and Telephone by Charice and Lea Michele is on number 3.

I love Oprah. I have always loved watching her, I even bought the complete DVD set for her 20-year anniversary. When talks of her ending her show after 25 years, I was okay with it. After all, she’s done well and she might as well leave while she’s on top right?
The opening for her farewell surprised her guests with a trip to Australia and her announcement was a total surprise. Well, that announcement has been “autotuned” and it’s really really cool!

American Idol Judges confirmed! Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler joins AI.
The rumored joining of Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith as judges on American Idol was confirmed Wednesday, September 22nd. It is true that JLo and Steven will join Randy Jackson for Season 10.
It was only until the last minute that Randy Jackson confirmed that he will remain one of the judges when it was rumored that JLo was getting $12M for the deal while Randy was making less than that which caused the discussion with American Idol execs.
The 10th season of American Idol will return in January 2011 on FOX.

Well folks, what did you think? Charice made her debut appearance on Glee last night and received rave reviews of her performance – singing performance that is. She was quite the shy type as her character Sunshine Corazon. The only thing quite missing was her facial expressions and a little more experience and training on the acting arena is needed.
But, overall – she did a fantastic job. Now that she is going to be a part of Vocal Adrenaline, we should all expect more rivalry competition between her and Lea Michele. It’s sooooo exciting!!

Robin Padilla now admits that he married Mariel Rodriguez in India (FULL INTERVIEW)
Nyeta ha?! Pinaikot-ikot pa tayong lahat eh dun din naman pala ang bagsak. I don’t blame Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez however, because both are public personalities and they must do what they need to do to protect their loved ones.
Robin Padilla was a guest at the ABS-CBN News Channel “The World Tonight” hosted by Tina Monzon-Palma. He admitted first-hand that he and Mariel married in India at the Taj Mahal on August 19, 2010 under Muslim rites.

Philadelphia Half Marathon – September 19, 2010 – a missed opportunity
Well, well, well. I haven’t made a personal post in Chuva-knows-when! I thought I’d post an entry this time to keep you updated with what’s going on with Chuva Chienes.
The weather has been great this past week and my life has never been busier. I went to a birthday party (Speak or Flip’s – whichever you prefer) on Saturday and instead of leaving early to prepare for the event to support a friend of mine on his half marathon run in Philadelphia, I ended up staying until the end. It was about 2:30 a.m. when the party ended. I was bloated as hell dahil sa dami ng pagkain. I tasted the best Bicol Express ever and feasted on crabs, pancit, menudo, lechon, fried chicken, bar-b-qued pork chops. I didn’t even have the chance to taste the meatballs! Arrggh. I was so full that by the end of the night, I was having heartburn like crazy.
On top of that, I was sipping JD all night. Thanks to Toby who got me drinking that crap. I was fine while I was at the party and only realized how much I drank when I got home. It was not a great feeling.
The next morning, I had promised to attend the Philadelphia Half Marathon run and support my friend Tasha. The run was to occur between 8:00 and 10:30 a.m. How the heck was I supposed to wake up early and get to the city by that time?
Well, I did. It was not pleasant but I managed to drive to Philadelphia. I had to pick Joey up to accompany me because he is more familiar with the roads in the city than I was.
I kept getting calls from Tasha giving me his location and how far he’s ran. By 8:45 he said he already was at the 5 mile mark. I was worried that I won’t make it in time to see him finish. We got there at around 9:30 a.m. I figured, if Tasha was going to finish by 10:30 a.m., we have plenty of time.
While waiting – - here’s what I noticed:
A cute shirtless guy was stretching across the street from us.
In an instant I knew. Kaya pala itong si Tasha nawili sa pagtakbo ng marathon. Leche! Puro guwapong lalaki pala ang nandon.
I was wondering why marami ng dumadaan na may medal. Hmmm.. Did we miss Tasha’s run?
At saka bakit nakahubad na ang mga lalaki?
Ganon! Ipakita raw ang six-pack abs sa amin.
Why didn’t I think of joining the marathon before?! Nandito pala lahat ng guwapo!! Hehe!
We got a call from Tasha saying he’s about 900 yards from the finish line and that we should proceed to the finish line. Takbo naman kaming dalawa ni Joey.
Ang daming runners. There were are reported 18,500 participants. Imagine that? We waited at the finish line for about half an hour. No Tasha. And no Joyce either. There was no cell phone signal at the finish line so I couldn’t tell if Tasha is still running or if he’s finished the race already.

Tasha: We’re done. We’re here under the Nigerian flag on Ben Franklin Parkway.
SHIT! We missed it!!!!
May medals na yung dalawa!! They completed the race and we missed them. So, to make up for it, nag-pictorial na lang kami.

Yan si Joyce! Ang super-skinny mowdel! Haha! She did well finishing 13.1 miles in a little over 2 hours. Say!

All-in-all, it was a great day! We finished up with dimsum and coffee at Starbucks.
Kahit na windang ang lola ninyo sa JD (Jack Daniels) — naka-survive.
It was fun and I felt so envious of the people who participated because they actually accomplished something. I saw an older man there who must have been in his 60s already .. finishing the race.
So, I vowed that I will join the next run. God-willing!
So mga chika… it’s time for me to start training…soooooo..

First Day of Autumn 2010 – Autumn Equinox
September 22 marks the first day of Fall 2010, also known as the Autumnal Equinox. Did you know that this is the time when the sun is directly above the Earth’s equator where there is equal amount of time between day and night?
We do have a tradition here in our part of the world when Fall begins. We usually drive up to Jim Thorpe when the leaves start changing colors. It’s a quaint town and the Butse Gang enjoys strolling around the area, visiting the shops and more.

Everyone was mixed on Bristol Palin‘s appearance on DWTS (Dancing with the Stars). Some said that she would be a train wreck worse than Kate Gosselin. However, the reviews fared out pretty well on Bristol’s favor.
She started of wearing a conservative suit with her hair up in a bun and later stripped it off revealing a shorter dress. She did well garnering 18 points out of 30 and believe me, she already has fans rooting for her.

Filipinos all over the world anticipates Charice’s debut on Glee
Okay folks, the wait is finally over. Tonight, the Filipino exchange student Sunshine Corazon ( Charice ) will debut with a diva face-off with Rachel Berry ( Lea Michele ) singing Lady Gaga’s “Telephone”.
Charice has fans all over the world and not limited to Filipinos only. She definitely has a magnificent voice and her road to fame wasn’t an easy one. She has been joining singing contests after singing contest when her mother separated from her physically abusive father. A fan uploading a video of her performance on Star King Talent show in Korea got Ellen Degeneres to notice her and invited Charice to appear on her show. Oprah Winfrey also noticed Charice and invited her to appear on Oprah.
Appearing on Oprah was her ticket. The rest was history.

Seriously? Willie Revillame is putting up his own TV Network?
Do you think Willie Revillame see the support that he received during his Wowowee days? From the poll that we’ve taken a poll and the results show that there will still be people who will support him although it’s not much from the people who WILL NOT support Willie Revillame on his new show. What if the show becomes flat and he falls on his face? What if it becomes a success? I guess we all have to wait and see.
Willie Revillame really wants to be the producer of his own show. This is one huge reason, among many, that he gives for inking his multimillion-peso deal with Manny V. Pangilinan’s TV5.
His own newly established company, Wil Productions, will co-produce his upcoming two-hour game show on TV5, Willing Willie, which he openly admits will have a lot of Wowowee in it.
The controversial host, particularly indefatigable when talking about his primetime show, does hype: “Pero mas maganda ito, mas maraming premyo na mas malalaki, mas maraming matutulungan, mas maraming mapapasaya!”
Explaining the business arrangement, in an exclusive September 17 interview, Willie says: “The technical side—the studio, operation, lights, sound, stage, the security, sa kanila. Pero akin ‘yong production people, ‘yong creative, the director, dancers, prizes.”

As members of the media and the public continue to speculate whether or not Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez are already married, relatives of the action star are claiming that the ceremony on September 13 only marks the engagement of the celebrity couple.
In an interview with TV Patrol aired Monday, September 20, Carol Tibayan, a cousin of Robin, said: “Robin called me up September 5, Sunday. He told me, ‘Akyat kami kasama si Alih, si Kylie, at si Mariel.’ What I did, I got in touch with Tita [Mrs. Eva Cariño Padilla, Robin's mom] and told her, ‘Tita, they’re coming up, let’s plan something.’”
Judith Pavia, Robin’s aunt, said, “When the real marriage [happens], we will make the necessary announcement.”

I never liked Sarah Palin. I never liked holier-than-thou peeps – it doesn’t matter who they are. So when I heard that Sister Sarah Palin endorsed a Tea Party-endorsed Christine O’ Donnell – I just shrugged it off. Hmmm. Christine O’ Donnell won an upset victory versus Mike Castle.
I didn’t cheer and I didn’t put her down either. That’s a victory in itself. Then, came the videos about her views on masturbation. I didn’t post it either. I really didn’t care much about her. Just last weekend, a video about her “dabbling on witchcraft” came out. Still didn’t care.

Could it be that Willie Revillame is just being misunderstood? Who is the real Willie Revillame? The one who had outbursts on air on several occasions on his very popular noontime show Wowowee? Or is he the one whom his former employees (who has now left ABS-CBN to move over to TV5) claim to be; a gentle and a person with a huge heart?

There’s a 486-million-peso counterclaim damage suit hanging over his head, but Willie Revillame seemed unperturbed.
“Alam ko na iyan,” was his calm reaction when PEP told him about the breaking news on ABS-CBN’s counter move following his rescission of a contract with the network that ends in September 2011.
He wasn’t being supercilious. His face didn’t give anything away, except when he paused to absorb the news—his eyes registered hurt.

Whoah! Apparently, this video has been around since February of 2009. I just saw it today when my friend Joey and I were hanging out at Starbucks and he remembered he saw this heart-stopping video.
I didn’t know what was going to happen to the girl so I watched it. My heart pounded and a few of us watching the video at Starbucks screamed when we actually saw the outcome.

This is going to be a long drawn-out process. Could it be true that ABS-CBN gave the go-ahead for Willie Revillame to rescind his contract? What was the P486M counter claim against him for? Publicity? I doubt it.
Just as it was before, Willie Revillame will do whatever he pleases with disregard to anyone even his own employers (well, ex-employers). For some reason, I think he believes his power is beyond the measure of the law?
I am unsure if the statements provided by TV5 to PEP are true but I just can’t see it happening without legal repercussions.

And the war begins: ABS-CBN files P486-million counterclaim damage suit against Willie Revillame
ABS-CBN has filed a P486-million counterclaim damage suit against former Wowowee host Willie Revillame.
Atty. Augusto San Pedro Jr. represented ABS-CBN in filing the counterclaim before Judge Luisito Cortez of Regional Trial Court Branch 84 yesterday, September 16.
In its counterclaim, ABS-CBN says that Willie should pay P426.92 million as liquidated damages for breaching his contract with the network.
If you’re going to try to evangelize, know your acronyms. LOL!
I am Catholic. There’s a lot of dogma in the Catholic church that I don’t agree with. Their teachings sometimes makes me wonder if Jesus really came to earth to divide and judge. My understanding is that it ain’t so.
I still am and will always consider myself a Catholic and even with my disagreement, I still find the church to be a pillar of strength. They have a lot of updating to do in order to keep the current members and attract new ones.

Every once in a while, I look for guys who would be worthy of our Chuvahotness Series. I haven’t put one up lately because I haven’t really found a hunk that would make my jaws drop. In reality, the Chuvahotness Series is a list of guys I would hope to marry someday.. LOL!
I was watching Extra the other night and I think they featured Alex O’ Loughlin who is going to star in the remake of Hawaii-Five-O. I understand that there will be four episodes of it and will probably extend if the ratings fare well.

Bethany Storro confesses acid attack hoax
I don’t know what would compel anyone to harm themselves unless they need mental help from a professional. The story of a Vancouver woman named Bethany Storro touched the hearts of a community when she claimed that one day, after learning of getting hired for a new job – she was elated and purchased a pair of sunglasses.
She claims that afterwards, she was approached by a woman described as African-American and asked if she wanted a drink. When she refused, the woman threw the cup in her face which actually contained acid.
After her story broke, she was scheduled to appear on Oprah but recent events have caused the appearance to get cancelled. Apparently, the acid on her face was self-inflicted. This was allegedly concluded when authorities obtained several information in her statement that weren’t making sense. Reports also claim that police found suspicious objects in her home that led to their questioning.

ABS-CBN is reminding Willie Revillame that he still has contract obligations with the Kapamilya network.
In a statement released today, September 15, the Kapamilya network confirmed that it had filed a reply to Willie’s motion to confirm the cancellation of his contract with ABS-CBN, which will expire on September 2011.
“Pormal nang nagsumite ng sagot ang ABS-CBN hinggil sa kasong isinampa ni Willie Revillame.
“Alam na rin namin ang mga lumalabas na publisidad hinggil sa pag-uumpisa ng diumano’y programa ni Willie sa ibang istasyon simula sa October 10.

When I watched Mariel Rodriguez interview Robin Padilla on E! Live, I knew something was up. Robin gave Mariel a P1.2 M diamond ring but both denied that they got married.
Who in their right mind would give a P1.2 M ring to anyone without an engagement or marriage? Okay, let’s say Robin is really overflowing with money and would simply like to give a ring simply as a gift.. that’s possible right? But Mariel’s actions during the interview was suspect. He beat three other contestants – Prince Poppycock, Fighting Gravity and Jackie Evancho. Very tough competition but it was the right decision.
