I didn’t think there would be any question who our clear winner is for the poll we released last Wednesday, September 8, 2010. After receiving a total of over 111,000 votes, we are proud to announce the winner of or Best Gown at Star Magic Ball 2010. I must say, her supporters are massive and if ABS-CBN is listening or reading this post – # 9 Tricia Santos is the winner! She won with a whopping 38.09% (42,432 votes). Congratulations Tricia Santos and congratulations to her fans as well. All of you have tirelessly voted for Tricia every day since I started the poll. Grabe, walang tatalo sa inyo. You promoted the poll with such determination for Tricia Santos to win – lock, stock and barrel. She is lucky to have you guys as supporters!!
Princess Tricia Santos was followed by Kim Chiu – # 62 – 20.01% (22,287 votes) and it is obvious that Kim Chiu has a lot of following as well. Her fans clearly support her and with her Gerald Anderson team up, it just made it a bit more fun for her fans. Congratulations Kim Chiu and congratulations to your fans too!!
The last but not the least (I was actually expecting Devon Seron to win over Ann Li but Devon Seron’s supporter is not as strong. Ann Li – # 58 – 5.28% (5,884 votes) takes third place. By the comment section, you could tell that the fans of Ann Li also flocked the site and was supportive of her as well. I do see a lot of Devon Seron comments but their vote did not reflect the words they left on the comments section. She received a minimal – 1.81% (2,020 votes) even trumped by # 42, #51, and #56.

Who do you think is going to win America’s Got Talent? Poppycock? Fighting Gravity?
I was watching the America’s Got Talent Finale last night and I was unsure about Fighting Gravity’s Finale performance. To me, it was just blah. It wasn’t as exciting as their previous performances. Although the appearing and disappearing doors were cool, the performance itself wasn’t so impressive.
On the other hand, Poppycock’s performance of Nessun Dorma was almost magical until Piers Morgan hit the buzzer as Poppycock was completing his piece. What was that all about? Good for Sharon Osbourne for scolding Piers because she was right… this is the finale and America HAS the SAY and not the judges.
Michale Grimm’s performance? Well, it was good but he simply sounded like Michael Bolton. Not a Vegas Show I would like to see. He is very cute though and I love his smile. And Jackie Evancho? Very good but again, not a Vegas Show I would like to see. Unless you do? Do you?

Yes, You and You and You and You! Oprah’s Farewell Season Premiere…
Well folks, one day I will be as rich as Oprah. And when that happens, I would like to give the best to my loyal readers as well. It’s not far off. It’s about to happen soon and when it does – all I have to ask you are three questions about my blog. If you answer all three questions correctly, you will be going with me to my next trip!! Where is that going to be? It’s a secret for now… but you will find out very soon.
Miss Oprah Winfrey did take her last chance to do something big when she announced to her audience that she is taking them all to Australia! The trip is to happen in December. A Qantas airplane then appeared from the backdrop. Out came Captain Travolta – - as in John Travolta.
Awesome premiere. I guess it will be a year-long farewell… but hey, Cher has done in in the last 20 years… LOL!
Lady Gaga’s Meat Dress – Yay or Nay? Think maggots.
Meat dress. Check!
Up till now, I am still guessing whether Lady Gaga’s VMA meat dress was real. I have looked at every photo flashed on TV and on the internet and I still couldn’t tell. It’s been days and it still bothers me. It’s not because I’m a vegetarian or anything. Just imagine, it was her third or fourth outfit change that evening. How did they keep that dress fresh? In a refrigerator?
i actually thought that her dress was cool until I found out it was made out of fresh meat. Yuck! I’ll give her 10 for originality and a 10 for disgusting. Just imagine what lurked inside those pieces of meat.

Jake Gyllenhaal is soooo hot! Love & Other Drugs Movie Trailer HD (2010)
Every once in a while, a movie trailer moves me in a way that I can’t explain. One movie trailer I saw last Friday when I went to see an independent film (Cairo Time – don’t watch it. It sucked big time!), was Love & Other Drugs starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway.
For some reason, the trailer grabbed me by the balls and made me want to see the movie. I hope this is not going to be another Eat, Pray, Love deception where the trailer looked good but the movie wasn’t that good.
First, Jake Gyllenhaal is my ultimate crush. He is one of the first Chuvahotness guys featured on Chuvachienes dot com. Did you guys see him on Prince of Persia? Sheesh! What a hunk!

No more facial cover allowed in France. French senate approves burqa ban
I have always wondered about the burqa yet have not questioned it because it is a religious practice. I wouldn’t want anyone to question why I wear a cross around my neck. But the French have made it clear that face-veils covering the full face (only showing the eyes) will no longer be tolerated in France starting next spring.
However, the hijab - a veil only covering the head with the face exposed- will not be banned. I believe that it is a step in the right direction. Simply for security and the like. It’s not saying that people who were burqas are dangerous people, it’s simply that it could be used as a means by extremist to hide their identities.

Former Miss Universe contestant from Mexico Ines Sainz, can be likened to Erin Andrews as the hottest sports reporter equivalent in Mexico. She recently tweeted the picture above to show what she was wearing during the day of the incident.
It was alleged that Ines Sainz was harassed by members of the New York Jets at their practice facility while trying to do a story on Mark Sanchez.

Simple things can protect little children.
I am still wondering how my sister can take care of four kids by herself. You all may know that I am alone (yes, not even a partner) and even with that, I cannot even take care of the stuff that I have to take care of. But, four kids?? Yikes.
My sister is really good with kids though and I can even see her spending all day with her kids without freaking out. I must say, it must take natural talent to be a parent. One time, she took her kids for a ride on the subways of New York and took
them to Coney Island – by herself?! Whew! She would take them shopping and go to parks on weekends as well.
One thing that I worry about is that one of my niece has a very mild case of autism. She is very smart and so lovable. I do worry about her when she’s at children’s parks with the other kids who may or may not know about her condition and the way
they may play with her. Other kids could be rough when playing and so I told my sister to make sure that she only takes her to playgrounds where there are protection from rough play. You know how some of the playgrounds do install safety rubber corners
and pads for the slides and beneath the swings. These are high-impact areas where children needs protection and I applaud the cities who use these types of protection for their kids. Do you know that they use rubber mulch in some places? They prove to
be safe and protects children from injuries and such. If you’d like to know more about these and possibly recommend them to your community playground, check out rubber mulch FAQ’s.
There are many things that you can do to protect your children not only on playgrounds but simple instructions on how not to speak to strangers or to always stay in sight whenever they are outside. Little things do matter and I can only hope that all
parents take the initiative to teach their children how to deal with simple but dangerous situations.
I do applaud my sister for her courage and her patience with her children. Maybe one day, when I have my own – I will be as patient and understanding as she is.

I am pleasantly surprised at the participation of my readers regarding the Best Gown Star Magic Ball 2010. This is the post that has received more than 60,000 votes so far within days from all over the world. The fans are as excited as I am to find out who will win this voting contest.
Supporters of Tricia Santos, Kim Chiu, An Li, and Devon Seron flocked the post supporting their idols to the maximum level!! It’s fun to know that supporters even posted the link on their Facebook Fan pages of their idols!

USA wins World Basketball Championship 2010 against Turkey

They said they were too young. They said they were undersized. They said the United States. couldn’t get it done with the superstars at home.
But Team USA proved them all wrong, capping an undefeated summer with a gold medal at the FIBA World Championships and defeating host country Turkey in the final, 81-64.
For the first time in 16 years, the U.S. is world champions once again. With a team composed of six players under the age of 22, including superstar Kevin Durant, the U.S. went undefeated in Turkey and cruised to a 17-point victory on Sunday.

She is braver than I thought. My question is, why does she have to get botox? She is already gorgeous, no need to firm up her skin… and she’s only 29!
Do celebrities have to go through these procedures to maintain how they look? What message would it give younger women if they see someone like Kim Kardashian who already looks the way she looks and still undergo through procedures like this?
Charice walks on the red carpet with the Glee Cast as new members were introduced.

I guess it would be a good thing to see don’t you think? We’ve always seen Jersey Shore’s Pauly D with his hair done with tons and tons of hair products to keep it in place and not one episode or photos on the net have shown him in his natural state right off the shower.

Many friends ask me why I go to Borgata more than I go to other casinos in Atlantic City. The reason for this is due to the fact that in my experience with the different casinos in AC, Borgata seems to be the place where I can play with minimum amount of cash and last for a long time. You would rather be sure that the payouts are good, that the company is reputable and that you are not just throwing your money away. The universal language of Music – Paru-Parong Bukid
I had shared this on Facebook when I first saw the North Missouri State University American Chorale singing Paru-Parong Bukid and I was totally flattered and entertained. It’s so nice how music can be translated using gestures and voice tones. You could really tell how jolly the song is by the chorale’s actions and it’s just wonderful to watch.

DId you see that video of the babysitter who was abusing the child she was babysitting? It was pretty disturbing if you ask me. There were parts of the video where she was throwing a volleyball directly on the baby’s head and at times she would grab the baby by the arm (the baby must not be more than 2-years old as the baby looked like it was just starting to crawl) and lifting the baby in fury. If I was the parent, I would be so livid that I would make sure the baby sitter serve some time in counselling or jail for what she has done to the child.
A hidden camera captured all that event and more. It was wise enough for the parents to do so because it’s really hard to trust anyone these days, most specially if you have to leave your kids with strangers. What would you have done in that case?
Modern technology has provided us a way now to allow you to monitor your home by using products that are in every home. There are wall clocks or mantle clocks that have embedded cameras in them. Even something as common as an electric fan could be a tool where you can place your spy camera. I know that sometimes, it doesn’t feel right using a spy camera because other people have used it in many ways that are bad rather than good. I personally wouldn’t want spy cameras to be in the hands of people who will use it for other purposes but if it’s for the security of my home and my family, I am totally for it.

When convenience is your game.
I remember when I first got into selling on eBay. I was really gung ho about making money and selling products that I loved. It’s a great way to earn extra income on the side with very minimal amount of work. All I had to do was to find a product that I could market-test and if it proves to be in demand and profitable, I try and find a vendor who can sell to me for wholesale prices and I can turn around and sell on eBay at a profit.
What if you can have the convenience, would you do it?
One thing I really hate is driving to the airport whenever I travel. It’s a hassle because parking costs too much and if I have to ask friends to drop me off, it’s an inconvenience for them as well. I know that friends and family are there for us and they really should be glad to take us right? Yet, that’s not always the case. Did you know that most of them don’t really like to be bothered? And if you bother them, you almost feel obliged to return the favor right? Don’t get me wrong, I am not against returning favors. Sometimes however, it would just be nice to travel without thinking or worrying about a simple transfer to the airport. Don’t you think?
I almost wish all airports have Airport taxi transfers where you can catch them from the airport to your destination and your origin to the airport. It would be most convenient specially for frequent travelers like me who live alone. It’s just wise and if the charges aren’t an arm and a leg, I would go for it every time. It has to be less expensive than a cab rate yet convenient as a cab where you can be picked up from your door to the airport and vice-versa.
Come to think of it, I think that’s a great idea? What if we provide the same service at the airports in Manila? That would just be fantastic. More and more Filipinos going home won’t have to worry about taking a cab (who can overcharge them and take advantage of them) or waiting for a ride. Hmmmm… I wonder if I should go in and start that business model in Manila?
Rich Cronin of LFO dies
It is so sad to hear about anyone dying let alone a guy of only 35 years old. Rich Cronin was the guy who wrote the LFO song “Summer Girls” in 1999. One of my crushes at the time.
According to his brother, he suffered a stroke. He was battling leukemia. TMZ.com was told that he passed away this afternoon.
Rich – rest in peace.

Everyone was looking forward to the Star Magic Ball 2010. Thousands of people came to my site looking for pictures of the event. My apologies if I was a bit late in posting the photos because Chuva Chienes took a weekend holiday for Labor Day Weekend (photos to come soon!).
But, now I’m here and I’ve viewed the photos of the fabulous gowns that the attendees wore during the Ball. I have my pick already but I would like to ask my readers to vote on who wore the best gown for the event. I don’t know each and every actress so I am going to number them instead. Have you searched using Google Search lately? Have you noticed that as you are typing, there are suggested words presented to you for faster search?
I was searching over the weekend and I noticed it but didn’t pay much attention to it since I’ve seen it before. Apparently, through Google’s research, it proves that Google Instant saves someone who is searching for something “two to five seconds” to search “saving users 11 hours each passing second”.
Pretty amazing huh? It’s pretty intelligent if you ask me.
