I miss many traditions we have in the Philippines. Traditions that I have become accustomed to were stripped away when I moved to the U.S. with my family. One of my favorites is the observance of All Soul’s Day/All Saints’ Day or better known as Todos Los Santos or Undras/Undas.
The whole clan would usually take chores where the women prepared meals and sandwiches to take to the cemetery – the guys in the family took care of preparing the tents and chairs, blankets and pillows to be used during the overnight stay at the cemetery. It’s one of the best family time I can remember as we played cards or sang songs right next to the tombs of our departed relatives with only candles illuminating the background.
The return of Charice on Glee – - Is it or is it not? (VIDEO)
Everybody’s been waiting to find out when Charice (Filipina Singing Sensation) will return on Glee. It was noted two weeks ago that Charice will return on Glee as part of the rival chorale group, Vocal Adrenaline on Episode 6 when others say that she will return on Episode 7.
So, which one is it? Is it the Never Been Kissed episode airing tomorrow night or the episode that is scheduled to air or November 16th for The Substitute episode when Gwyneth Paltrow is scheduled to appear on the popular show? Everybody is keeping mum about her next scheduled appearance but there is one thing that leaves very little doubt… she is returning on Glee. It’s just that nobody wants to disclose when.
You know what I love about Ellen? She can get David Beckham to take his shirt off.

Ellen Degeneres asked David Beckham to join her in a prank. He was to get a massage from this masseuse and ask all kinds of weird requests. The masseuse was so respectful, she did everything David asked. I would too!!

There really is no difference between the response of Sarah Palin to Katie Couric’s question back in 2008 than the response Ms. South Carolina – Teen USA 2007 contestant gave during the pageant. The big difference is, there is a chance the former could be the next President of the United States in 2012. Let’s hope not so PLEASE GO OUT AND VOTE!

18-year-old U.S. contestant Alexandra Mills wins Miss World
Congratulations to Alexandra Mills – winner of Miss World 2010 held in Southern China last Saturday.
Second place was Botswana’s Emma Wareus and Venezuela’s Adriana Vasini placed third.
Alexandra Mills is from Louisville, KY who recently graduated high-school and plans to pursue teaching in the future.
She beat over 100 contestants for the coveted crown

Fake Terror Alert Issued – Is it for Political Gain?
My co-worker ran to my desk this afternoon saying that there have been reports of terrorist attacks in Philadelphia and Newark Airports this afternoon and that “WE ARE BEING ATTACKED”. Soon followed that news are Terror Alerts which are being treated as Fake Terror Alerts similar to what was used by the Bush Administration for political gain.
The mid-term elections will be held on November 2nd. and you know what? I think just for the fun of it, I will vote Republican. I want them to take over the House. I want them to see what they can do with the mess given to President Obama. I want them to ACT and STOP the complaining. I may just do that.

Mark and Brian Show Now Offers Live Listening over the Web
The Mark & Brian Show is an American radio talk show hosted by Mark Thompson and Brian Phelps, known on the air as “Mark & Brian.” The syndicated program originates weekday mornings from KLOS-FM in Los Angeles, California, and blends comedy sketches, listener phone calls, interviews with in-studio guests, and the occasional road trip.
In 1985, Thompson was working as a disc jockey when he was introduced to Phelps, whose background was in improvisational comedy. Their first joint on-air appearance was on WAPI-FM (I-95) in Birmingham, Alabama. An offer to move west and take over the morning slot at KLOS culminated in the premiere of The Mark & Brian Show in September 1987.
Mark & Brian are two-time winners of the Billboard Magazine “Air Personalities of the Year” award, and received a 1991 National Association of Broadcasters Marconi Award as “Air Personalities of the Year.” They have also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Appearing on NBC Today Show, Mariah Carey admitted that she is pregnant with her first child with husband Nick Cannon.
However, Nick Cannon denied that they know the sex of the baby saying,
“There’s no truth to that. We don’t know the sex of our child.”
The rumors have been going around for a month and it’s good that the songbird has finally admitted to it. Mariah said that they were just being careful.

Cops were called by an unidentified woman reporting that she felt her life was threatened and needed cops to come over immediately. Surprise, surprise. The cops caught Charlie Sheen, buck naked with a woman inside his hotel room (and it was not Denise Richards!). He exchanged words with the cops and once the cops noticed who it was, he was given a choice to be taken to the station or the hospital. Charlie Sheen took the safe choice of going to the hospital.

This is one show that hasn’t bored us just yet. Each week, the delivery and performance gets better and better. If you are a fan of the 1975 film “Rocky Horror Picture Show”, and have been to any of those midnight showing in theaters throwing popcorn and toilet paper all over the place, you surely would have loved tonight’s episode!

One word! Amazing!! Greyson Chance, the 13-year-old Youtube sensation discovered by Ellen Degeneres after a video of his performance of Lady Gaga’s Papparazzi on Youtube became viral. Ellen flew him to Los Angeles to perform and has since been the first artist to sign up with Ellen’s record label, eleveneleven.
I love his originality and his voice who can carry different octaves. The song entitled Waiting Outside the Lines is a great song and a positive influence specially to teens nowadays who are easily swayed to give up on life.

GMA Weatherman Sam Champion Tweets that his father died.
Our deepest sympathies to Sam Champion. The Good Morning America weatherman tweeted that his father recently passed. It was the reason why his name, Sam Champion was on top of Google Trends this morning and not because of a rumor that he married his boyfriend Sean Bell.
He initially tweeted earlier this morning that he may be absent from the program all week due to a family emergency.
It was reported that Sam was at the hospital with his ailing father but Champion has since tweeted that his father passed away.
His father was Lt. Col. James H. Champion, a retired Marine Corps officer.

For some reason, GMA’s weatherman Sam Champion is on the TOP of Google Trends today with questions regarding the weatherman’s sexuality and marital status. Hmmm. I never noticed him before because honestly, I am an NBC Today Show fan. But this doesn’t come as a surprise because looking at his pics, I can obviously tell something about him.
According to my research, Sam Champion is not married. I did see posts on Answers.com that he has a boyfriend. So, the question of Sam being gay shouldn’t be a question anymore. The most probable reason for the spike is to find out if he got married.
According to the post I read, his boyfriend’s name is Sean (Shawn) Bell and they have been together since April 2006. There was also a post that he had been outed by Bravo.
The bigger question is: WHO CARES?
Paul the Psychic Octupus Dies
I am sad. After I read the news about Paul the Octopus’ passing this morning, I couldn’t help but remember the entertainment he provided during the World Cup. Paul the Octopus came onto the global spotlight during the FIFA World Cup of 2010 when it correctly predicted the outcome all seven Germany games during this year’s World Cup including Spain’s 1-0 win during the finals. He did this by opening a lid to a clear box to feed on the mussel inside the box bearing the predicted winner’s flag.
Not only was I getting attuned to watching soccer, I was enjoying the way Paul was predicting the winner. He was even appointed as an ambassador to England’s bid to host the 2018 World Cup.
He is 2 1/2 years old.
There are suggestions that they will give Paul a proper burial place and a memorial. If that is true, I would like to pay him a visit one day when I’m in Germany.
