Just like Oprah Winfrey, I lend my support to Jon Stewart’s Rally to Restore Sanity on October 30th in Washington, D.C. While I may be a bit disappointed with several promises made by President Barack Obama during the campaign that he hasn’t followed through with, I am still a supporter of the administration.
The mess left for President Obama to fix was so huge. I felt that regardless of who and which party took control of the White House under the circumstances that President Obama did, you will be damned if you do and damned if you don’t.
Hereafter Review and Full HD Movie Trailer Starring Matt Damon
One of the movies for me that is a must-see is Hereafter starring Matt Damon. When the weather starts to get cold and you know that Halloween is fast approaching, it’s nice to see movies that will either scare the shit out of you or at least get you thinking about the next life.
The new movie by Clint Eastwood entitled Hereafter is showing in theaters. I would suggest that if you are in the mood of seeing a movie tonight, watch Hereafter. It’s more of a soul-searching movie than a supernatural thriller movie.
If you get the chance to see the movie, see it. It received rave reviews and is posted on the internet so I believe it would be an awesome film to watch on a Friday night.

At that moment, you can’t look further into the future because the pain you feel is “now” and you don’t even know what beauty and opportunities lie ahead.

I’m not sure if I’m going to rush to Barnes & Nobles or itch to press the “buy” button on Amazon to buy this book. I’m not a fan of the ex-President and I’m not a Republican either. Although I would say this. I would take Bush and his Dynasty over any of the Palins, O’ Donnells, Becks and the Teabaggers.
I would also say this. I think I’d be more interested in reading Condoleeza Rice’s over Pres. George W. Bush’s memoir. Just because reading Condoleeza’s memoir promises substance.
Damning words that got Juan Williams fired from NPR (VIDEO)
This is the big news today. Juan Williams fired from NPR. The words he uttered during an appearance on O’ Reilly Factor was the reason why NPR let him go.
“When I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”
NPR fired Juan Williams and issued a statement:
Willing Willie – Two days to Go or No-Go. What’s your take?
Even with the successful trade launch of Willing Willie on October 13th – 10 days before the scheduled airing of the show - , the decision of the show airing on October 23rd still hangs in the balance until QC Regional Court issues its decision regarding the TRO filed by ABS-CBN. Since the decision hasn’t been made, ABC5 believes that they have the right to air Willing Willie as scheduled.
But do they? Being that the contract between Willie Revillame and ABS-CBN hasn’t been terminated or rescinded, it stands to face more legal repercussions if the new show does air. It seems that it will be considered a simple defiance because the makings of Willing Willie is patterned after Wowowee. It’s a game show.
In a 38-page petition, ABS-CBN appealed to the court to restrain Willie from creating or performing work similar to the work under the agreement for any person or entity in direct competition with the business of ABS-CBN and from engaging in activities which are adverse to the interests of ABS-CBN.”

Many of my friends wore purple today to celebrate SPIRIT DAY in memory of the 8 teens who took their lives due to homophobic abuse and teen bullying.
Today, October 20th – was declared Spirit Day by Brittany McMmillan who created a Facebook Page in memory of the teen suicides in recent weeks.
The Facebook Fan Page states:
It’s been decided. On October 20th, 2010, we will wear purple in honor of the 8 homosexual teenagers who committed suicide in recent weeks/months due to homophobic abuse in their homes at at their schools. Purple represents Spirit on the LGBTQ flag and that’s exactly what we’d like all of you to have with you: spirit. Please know that times will get better and that you will meet people who will love you and respect you for who you are, no matter your sexuality. Please wear purple on October 20th. Tell your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors and schools. RIP Tyler Clementi, Asher Brown, Seth Walsh, Justin Aaberg,Eric Mohat, Meredith Rezak, Raymond Chase and Billy Lucas. You are loved.

I hope you saw the video that I posted of Fort Worth Councilman Joel Burns when he made that heart-wrenching appeal to gay teens to wait and see and not take their lives because “life gets better”. I was deeply moved by that video and I cried while watching it. It’s not easy of many of us but we have to understand and make teens understand that life does get better.
He was a guest on Ellen Degeneres show and I think I just fell in love with him for the second time!! I know that he is happily-partnered (JD you are sooooo lucky to have a man like him) but I am still in love with him. Watch the video below and tell me if you fell in love too!
Anita Hill says No to request for apology by Virginia Thomas through Voicemail
When you guys were probably still infants, this was big news here in the US. The confirmation of Judge Clarence Thomas to the U.S. Supreme Court was one that played out on television like a mini-series. Accusations by Anita Hill that she was sexually harassed was broadcast on live television as she was putting her testimony out there before Clarence Thomas was confirmed.
Well, a weird phone call and voicemail from Virginia Thomas was recently left for Anita Hill asking Hill to apologize for what she did 20-years ago.
The voicemail left was:
“Good morning, Anita Hill, it’s Ginny Thomas, I just wanted to reach across the airwaves and the years and ask you to consider something. I would love you to consider an apology sometime and some full explanation of why you did what you did with my husband. So give it some thought and certainly pray about this and come to understand why you did what you did. OK, have a good day.”
Anita Hill didn’t know what to make of the voicemail and at first thought it was a prank. However, she did figure it out and called police regarding the voicemail.
She replied via ABC News:
Hill told ABC News: “Even if it wasn’t a prank, it was in no way conciliatory for her to begin with the presumption that I did something wrong in 1991. I simply testified to the truth of my experience. For her to say otherwise is not extending an olive branch, it’s accusatory.”
She continued: “I don’t apologize. I have no intention of apologizing, and I stand by my testimony in 1991.”

Woohoo! This would be Beyonce’s first child with husband Jay-Z if the rumor mill is true. According to US Weekly, Beyonce is in her first trimester but cannot be confirmed. The 29-year old singer/actress was as surprised by the reports but conflicting responses make us wonder.
“B was shocked. She loves kids, but she wasn’t ready to be a mother just yet,” says a source of the singer, who married rapper Jay-Z in 2008. “She really wanted to get her album done and tour the world again.”
Still, another insider says that the singer, who is in her first trimester, realizes that “this is a gift from God and she’s so happy.”

Charice is returning to “Glee” earlier than expected
Charice has confirmed that she just completed filming her second appearance on the popular TV Show Glee. Although songs she will sing were not disclosed, it is high time for Charice fans to celebrate once again in seeing her “Sunshine Corazon” persona perform magical tunes once more.
Her first appearance on the show made Beyonce’s song Listen reach the top on iTunes Glee Cast songs. She was expected to re-appear on Episode 7: Season Two with the group Vocal Adrenaline. However, she is coming back a week earlier.
“Charice is coming back in Episode 6 of Glee. She did not tell me what songs she would sing but refuted talks that she had already recorded Celine Dion songs for Glee.”

There’s no stopping Revillame’s new show from airing despite ABS-CBN’s pleas to expedite TRO
Willie Revillame must be considering the court not to decide on the TRO (Temporary Restraining Order) until October 19th as a mini-victory against the network giant, ABS-CBN.
With the pending TRO undecided, there is a chance that Willing Willie will air on October 23rd. A gentleman’s agreement between ABS-CBN and Willie Revillame has been denied by the latter stating that there is no such agreement.
The question is, once the pilot airs and it is successful – then a TRO is issued – what would happen to the advertisers who are expecting their products to be featured on a “promised” daily show? If and when a TRO is issued, how long will it be effective? What if it becomes effective until they go into trial?
The issues keep on mounting as ABS-CBN tries harder to prevent Willing Willie to air on TV5. Read on…
Amid the ongoing legal tussles, Pangilinan-led TV5 will push through with the scheduled pilot telecast this Saturday (Oct. 23) of controversial host Willie Revillame’s new game show.
Perci M. Intalan, TV5 head of creative and entertainment production, said since the court has yet to rule on temporary restraining order (TRO) petition filed by Mr. Revillame’s former TV network, broadcast giant ABS-CBN Corp., the new show will premiere as scheduled.
“Its all systems go for the new show, Wiling Willie,” Mr. Intalan told reporters last week. “We are all busy preparing for the premiere telecast of Willie’s (Mr. Revillame’s) show on Oct. 23 since the court has not issued a TRO.”
Last Friday, ABS-CBN filed a motion asking the court to immediately decide on the network’s Oct. 4 petition seeking to prevent Mr. Revillame from launching his new show on another TV station.

I just heard this for the first time. Nadya Suleman, the famous “Octomom” was implanted 12 embryos – a practice unheard of in the profession. The Medical Board of California’s hearing is considering to revoke or suspend the license of Dr. Michael Kamrava, the doctor who implanted the embryos.
Nadya, a single mother of 14 now, said Kamrava implanted six embryos and two of them split when she had octuplets.
Although Dr. Kamrava has been kicked out of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, he still cannot be prevented by the same group from practicing medicine.
They are now in the process of determining whether Dr. Kamrava acted negligently by implanting that many embryos into Nadya Suleman.

Saudi prince found guilty of murdering aide facing life in prison (VIDEO)

Justice was served when Prince Saud Abdulaziz bin Nasser al Saud of Saudi Arabia was found guilty of grievous assault and murder of Bandar Abdulaziz.
The prince is due to be sentenced on Wednesday. The relationship between the two weren’t clear but it is believed that they had a gay sexual relationship.
Allegedly, the prince enjoyed the company of male escorts and a “thing for erotic massages”.

Pregnant Céline Dion Hospitalized in West Palm Beach Florida
E! Online reports that as a preliminary precaution, Celine Dion has checked into St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beack, FL in order to avoid early and pre-mature delivery of her twins.
The report said that this is no cause for an alarm since the 42-year old singer is simply taking precautions to a delicate pregnancy and it was made on the advice of her physicians.
She is eight months pregnant with twins.

Former NFL Star Junior Seau who was arrested in the early morning hours on Monday after reports of domestic violence in his home. When he was released on bail, he drove his Cadillac SUV off the cliff in Carlsbad, CA. Luckily, he survived.
Has life really been that tough lately? With all the teen suicides and recent reports of people taking their own lives – what is it really? Are we too weak to take on challenges? Life is not easy but it does get better. We need something to take us through tough times. I wonder what it is we’re lacking these days.

Rutgers Player Eric LeGrand Paralyzed From Neck Down After Game
This is the most difficult news we hear about sports. Rutgers Star Player LeGrand was hurt with 5:10 to play in the fourth quarter against Army, making a violent tackle on Malcolm Brown on the kickoff return after Rutgers tied the game at 17.
Rutgers defensive tackle Eric LeGrand has no movement below his neck after he was injured in the team’s 23-20 victory over Army on Saturday. He was injured while making a tackle in the fourth quarter. He lay motionless for seven minutes before he was carted off the field. His injury occurred at the C3-C4 level of vertebrae.
LeGrand went through surgery to stabilize his spine. He is in intensive care at Hackensack and is expected to remain there for the near future, according to a statement released by the Rutgers athletic department.
“We want to say thank you to everyone for all of your prayers, kind words, and well wishes,” the LeGrand family said in a statement. “We appreciate every single thought. Eric is in good spirits and we are praying for a full recovery.”

I rarely post any personal entries anymore. I started this blog as a personal blog but it has evolved to what it is today, a celebrity blog. From time to time, when I feel a nudge about a topic or anything that touches my heart, I blog about it under “Random Musings”. I express how I feel and I write about the situation.
This video that you will see below is Joel Burns. He is Fort Worth City Councilman who is openly gay. His 12-minute speech was heartfelt (and I cried a couple of times while watching). It is a message to teens who are thinking of taking their lives just because of bullying and name-calling. People who’ve been called faggit, faggot, queer, freak and the like while you are in grade school or high school understand how painful it is. And to a young teen, you may think that the world is a cruel place. It is not. We want you to know that life does get better and Joel Burns said it profoundly by telling his own experience.

I was missing my friend George. He is Lebanese and a cute one at that! He is in Lebanon right now helping his father build a hotel. He was born and raised here in the US but do speak Arabic and such. I’ve met his mom and his sister and they are wonderful people. Somehow, I thought of him today and when I Googled “Lebanese Men”, I came across this video which makes me understand our friendship even more.
He is a very close friend of mine and we do hold hands and even sit next to each other while watching TV (almost cuddling) but it really is nothing. We’re simply friends who feel very close to each other. I used to misunderstand certain gestures of his but now I somehow figured out after watching this video that he treats me as a “very close friend”… and that is all.
Shout out to George! I miss you!!

I had the unfortunate chance to see Christine O’ Donnell debate Chris Coons and she has the power to really make you wonder. I was seriously wondering if this woman is taking some kind of “wonder” drug because she is way out there. How in the world did she get to where she is? I mean, let’s face it. With the people’s anger against the government right now, there is a possibility that she could be catapulted into power taking the senate seat that Vice-President Joe Biden once held. That’s a scary thought. Yet, it could happen because people do stupid things when they are angry.
Bill Maher showed a montage of Christine O’ Donnell as she exasperated every single guest with her on the show including Ben Affleck!! Yes, if you can believe that – and I can. Ben is an intelligent guy and just as it was too painful for me to watch her debate with Chris Coons – - I bet Ben Affleck felt the same way while debating with her.
