And… Chuva’s Travel begins… First stop: Venice, Italy
Yes, my dear Chuvanians…. Chuva is traveling and will be sailing across the Mediterranean for a 9-day cruise. If you are a regular reader here, you may know that I have traveled for work a lot and have been to many cities in Europe and Asia. I have also traveled several times to my favorite country in the world next to the Philippines – Brazil.
Kanye West wasn’t quite impressed with his interview with Matt Lauer on NBC’s Today Show
I haven’t seen the interview of Kanye West by Matt Lauer on NBC’s Today Show but it seems that the pre-recorded interview didn’t sit too well with Kanye West as he resorted to Twitter to air out his disappointment with Matt Lauer – Today’s co-anchor with Meredith Vieira.
Kanye West was brought back to the spotlight after Matt Lauer interviewed former President George W. Bush about his book, Decision Points. President Bush stated that the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and Kanye West’s accusation that he is a racist, is the lowest point in his entire presidency. Kanye remarked on MTV while they were trying to raise funds for the hurricane victims, a statement that pierced into the heart of President Bush.

It’s a mystery. No one seems to know what this trail of smoke was that was captured remains “unexplained” on Tuesday. Earlier Tuesday, NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) and NORTHCOM (United States Northern Command) stated that there was no threat although Pentagon officials cannot confirm it for sure.
There may be an explanation to it according to New Scientist

It’s actually alarming that no one can confirm what it was. First, the White House Gate Crashers. Now, a mystery missile launch? What’s next?

Matt Lauer’s Interview with Former Pres George W. Bush. My take. (VIDEO)
I have been very vocal and critical of Former President George W. Bush during his term. The things that he did irritated me to no end. I didn’t like him then and I still don’t particularly like him now. His interview with Matt Lauer last night gave me a different look about the former president. I think he’s honestly saying that he did the best he could under the circumstances and that at least is very humbling. I have respect for him because he has stayed silent in the almost-two-years that President Barack Obama has been president, and last night’s interview did not make me like him but made me respect some of the decisions that he made during his term.

I’m certain that most of us have seen an X-Ray of a part of your body sometime in your lifetime. If not, it is very hard to not recognize an X-Ray image. We try to be spies as children for fun and seeing through the body of someone else using X-Ray vision glasses was the most interesting.
Well, the cute Google Doodle today is a celebration of the X-Ray’s 115th Anniversary. Can you imagine that? It has been around for 115 years! It’s no longer just used for medical purposes. The X-Ray is now used in different industries other than the medical industry.
Trivia: Did you know that it used to be called Röntgen Rays? It was named after Wilhelm Röntgen after being credited for its first systematic use.

I have been watching Oprah non-stop these days. My DVR is set and every night, I pour a glass of wine and watch my favorite shows – and one of them? Oprah’s Farewell Season.
Tonight, I watched Teen Idols and let me tell you. I couldn’t remember how much I loved Backstreet Boys until they appeared on Oprah and sang “I Want It That Way”. They all looked great! First time that they were all together again — just for Oprah’s 25th Year – The Farewell Season. They all still look HOT as ever!!

Movies out this weekend: For Colored Girls, Megamind and Due Date (Video Trailers)
The last movie I saw on the big screen was “The Social Network” and I was glad I saw it. There are more movies coming out towards the end of the year and there are a few I’d like to see. One of them is Due Date and Megamind in 3D. There are lots of Oscar buzz about For Colored Girls by Tyler Perry but I’m not so sure. It does have an A-List cast. I wonder if they could pull it off.

I had so much fun watching Oprah and Gayle’s camping at Yosemite National Park. I thought I had lost my desire to watch Oprah after the 2008 but since it is her show’s last year (or so she says), I decided to start recording her shows again.
She had a two-part series about camping at Yosemite National Park with her best friend Gayle. The series wasn’t only entertaining, it was funny.
There was a part when after they arrived at the park, Oprah cooked dinner and had ‘neighbors’ over. After it was all done, both Gayle and Oprah were exhausted. As Gayle stepped into the camper, she made a joke about a rumor that has been around since Oprah’s been around. Hilarious!!

Black Friday is right around the corner and Black Friday Ads are being leaked all over the web now. Expecting a good forecast on retail this year, several big retailers are apparently starting their Black Friday 2010 ads weeks early.
Walmart and Best Buy are already offering huge deals on electronics starting today, November 5 and and tomorrow November 6. These Black Friday 2010 ads change the way retailers are doing business as most started the day after Thanksgiving.
The Bachelorette’s Julien Hug Found Dead Wednesday, 11/4/2010
Riverside County Officials report that Julien Hug of the Bachelorette fame in 2009 was found dead on Wednesday.
He had been reported missing for several days until his body was found at 11:00 a.m. local time in a remote area off Highway 74, near Pinyon Pines. Cause of death is still unknown at this time and is still under investigation. An autopsy
Jillian Harris, the star of The Bachelorette in 2009 confirmed the news thru her Twitter page and even asked for prayers:
“Please say a prayer for the loss of a friend this morning,” the Canadian Bachelorette wrote her followers. “Life is fragile, don’t forget to love the ones you love.”
Julien Hug didn’t make it to the finals of The Bachelorette last year but it cannot be denied that he gained popularity and garnered a multitude of fans on his own.
My condolences to Julien Hug’s family and friends.

Ewwwww! Grosser than gross!! What in the heck is going on with Google Trends? According to GT, the top most searched phrase on Google right now is, “Why Won’t My Parakeet Eat My Diarrhea?”
Call me crazy but why in the world would anyone search for that phrase? Or millions of searches for that matter? I was laughing my “arse” off when I found that out tonight while trying to find out about the election results for 2010. It took me by surprise!
I did have Parakeets before. My boyfriend and I owned 12 of them at one point. In all the years we had them, that thought never crossed my mind (or my ex-boyfriend’s). Craaaaazzzzyyy!!

It’s no surprise to my readers that I don’t like Sarah Palin. I didn’t and will never support her and anyone who she endorses. Even though Tea Party favorites took a good win during last night’s mid-term elections, I was still happy that Christing O’ Donnell (a candidate endorsed by Sarah Palin), did not win. I mean, have you heard any of her views? I think she is better off as a reality TV star than a Senator. She should really thank the ones who didn’t vote for her, cause now – she can make millions writing a book or having her own reality show.

We all expected this and although I must admit, the defeat was felt and yet it is understandable. We’ve had the worst economy since The Great Depression and everyone is angry, everyone is mad. To see the government spending the way it did while many lost their jobs was a slap in the face to many.
Lion King child star Shannon Tavarez has died.
Broadway’s The Lion King child star Shannon Tavarez has died of leukemia. She was 11-years old.
According to Broadway.com, Shannon played Nala on the Broaday version of The Lion King and has drawn attention from Rihanna and Alicia Keys. She was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia back in April of this year. There was a search for a bone-marrow donor and when none could be found, Rihanna and Alicia Keys tried to bring up the need to the surface.
Although 8,000 people signed up, no matching donor was found. She underwent an umbilical cord transplant in August.
Rest in peace Shannon.

Stars celebrated Halloween last night and donned their best. Kim Kardashian wore a Busty Red Riding Hood, Christina Aguillera was a cop… and who? Me? Chuva Chienes? No, I didn’t dress up last night. I did dress up the night before and all I can say is, “I’m still getting cramps from the six-inch heels I wore!!”

President Aquino goes on a state visit to Vietnam for the 17th Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit. Speechwriter Assistant Secretary Maria Carmen “Mai” Mislang tweets the following while accompanying the President during the state visit:
“The wine sucks”
“Sorry pero walang pogi dito #vietnam.” (Sorry, there are no handsome men here.)
“Crossing the speedy motorcycle laden streets of Hanoi is one of the easiest ways to die.”
The President returns from the state visit and defends his speechwriter saying:
(Mislang) is young and could easily make mistakes. He also said Mislang wrote him a letter to explain what happened and apologized for her mistake.
My take? People make mistakes. I was young once and I have had to deal with a lot of mistakes in my life. Yes, even the most embarrassing of all. What I took from those mistakes?
- People generally forgive you because they understand your youth.
- Growth experience.
- Never make that mistake again.
It’s over. She did it, apologized, deleted her Twitter account. No one is making a big fuzz – - so, move on.
