New Year is looking better already! In Alaska, Joe Miller Ends Legal Fight, Concedes: NPR
I am already getting a good start to the New Year with this news. Like I said during the elections, I was going to watch this Senate race very closely. The Tea Party-backed candidate, Joe Miller announced today that he is ending his legal fight for the Alaskan Senate seat against the write-in candidate Lisa Murkowski.
I was glad about Christine O’ Donnell’s loss in Delaware and now, a bonus! I must applaud Joe Miller however for conceding and not stringing this along until next year.
Lisa Murkowski is scheduled to take her position on January 5, 2011. I am just against any Sarah Palin-endorsed candidate.

Da Vinci Code is real!!! Mona Lisa painting ‘contains hidden code’
Members of Italy’s National Committee for Culture Heritage tells us now that after magnifying Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa’s eyes in high resolution, they did find codes embedded within.
“To the naked eye the symbols are not visible but with a magnifying glass they can clearly be seen,” said Silvano Vinceti, president of the Committee.
He said: “It is very difficult to make them out clearly but they appear to be the letters CE or it could be the letter B – you have to remember the picture is almost 500 years old so it is not as sharp and clear as when first painted.
In the right eye appear to be the letters LV which could well stand for his name Leonardo Da Vinci while in the left eye there are also symbols but they are not as defined.
Isn’t that something?

One time, my cousins and I were in Manhattan for dinner at Hard Rock Cafe. After dinner, we met other cousins who were already in Manhattan since they wanted to go home with us to Queens since I drove. I drove my car (then a Honda Civic Hatchback). There were nine of us and we said, “It’s not that bad. We can fit everyone in the car”. One by one, we got in the car. And when the ninth cousin got in the car – - the people on the sidewalk applauded and cheered! It was a fun night. I guess you can fit nine Filipinos in one car.
More recently however, 19 Pakistani women was able to fit into a Smart car!!!! Can you freaking believe it? Well, believe cause we have the video below:

First, if you are a woman or gay and haven’t seen Black Swan yet – shame on you! Haha! But if you’re a woman who wants to see the film with your boyfriend or husband and couldn’t convince them to watch a movie with ballerinas in it – - take Natalie Portman’s approach…. talk “lesbian scene”. Here’s what Natalie Portman said recently about the film:
“Everyone was so worried about who was going to want to see this movie,” Portman says. “I remember them being like, ‘How do you get guys to a ballet movie? How do you get girls to a thriller?’ And the answer is a lesbian scene. Everyone wants to see that.” [Source]
Hahaha! And believe me – - your boyfriend or husband will be more excited than you once they see that scene. They will probably keep their eyes open until the end after that scene…
The good thing about the film is that it didn’t exploit “lesbianism”. It was perfect and right for the thriller film to include that scene without thinking that it was put in the film so that it will appeal to men.
If you haven’t seen it yet – - go see it!! It’s a must-see! And besides, I already called Best Actress for Natalie Portman portraying Nina Sayers in the film.

Darren Criss – Performance at Trinoma (VIDEO)
Thanks to Spot.ph for the video. I recently divorced Darren Criss to be with Fitness Instructor Scott Herman (at least for the meantime) – but seeing this video makes me want to go back to my “Teenage Dream“.
According to Spot.ph, Darren entertained the crowd for almost an hour by himself – switching from guitar to keyboard and sang a few songs from A Very Harry Potter Musical and Glee.

Maybe it’s just me. Doesn’t it seem so fast for anyone of you whenever you hear celebrities getting engaged, married and divorced? Or does time really go by that fast?
Recently, Reese Witherspoon announced her engagement to Hollywood Talent Agent, Jim Toth. It seems like it was just yesterday when she was dating Jake Gyllenhaal and seems like last week when she was married to Ryan Philippe. But in truth, it’s been 2-years since Reese filed for divorce from Ryan and it’s been over a year since Jake and Reese broke up.
So, technically – time has passed more than I feel it had but it does seem that everyone feels the same way I do. Why? As soon as Reese announced her engagement to Jim Toth, inquiring minds wanted to find out what Ryan Philippe thought about the engagement.
Here’s what Ryan Philippe has to say about the engagement according to NyDailyNews.com:

I guess people have a harder time getting over a breakup of celebrities than the celebrities do.

According to Access Hollywood:
Neil Patrick Harris (37) and his longtime partner David Burtka (34), talked to People.com about the joy of raising their twins.
The babies were born via surrogate in October and ever since, the couple have been busy changing diapers and raising their kids. The weird thing? They used sperm from both Neil and David and both took! Isn’t that amazing?
The article added:
The happy family recently moved into “more kid-friendly” digs in the Hollywood Hills, furnishing the twins’ new nursery with an “old-school Disney theme park” look, according to the mag.
“I just love the way [the twins] smell. And we can use them as an excuse to get out of almost anything,” Neil added, jokingly. “That’s cleared the calendar in a good way.”

In other news, Elton John and husband David Furnish became proud parents of Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John through adoption.
Elton John spoke to US Magazine about the experience and said:

Chris’ rep confirmed the wedding, but did not supply any further details about the marriage.
Hopefully, Liam Hemsworth (Miley Cyrus‘ ex-boyfriend), attended the wedding to witness his brother all giddy and happy.

We’ve heard about all the celebrity divorces in 2010 as if there was a deadline to get their 2011 started right. It’s all sad. Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman, Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson, etc.
There are also good news about engagements – I guess for the same reason – a good start for 2011.
Natalie Portman is engaged to Benjamin Millepied and also expecting their first child as well as Eddie Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes whose meeting as married people had a bad rap in the beginning about their relationship.
The romance of Rimes and Cibrian, who sealed their engagement over the holidays with a five-carat oval diamond, is being closely followed because both were married to other people when they met and fell in love.
I guess we can never tell what love will do to us. You just never know who you’ll meet and who will sweep you off your feet.

All of us gays fell in love with the two gay teen characters on Glee. Chris Colfer (Kurt) and Darren Criss (Blaine) captured the hearts of many. It’s a symbol that gays are widely accepted now as part of the norm than not.
Just to think that a TV show can show gay characters at such a young age (when many of us struggled with our sexuality) is already a milestone, let alone grant a “kiss” between the two.

My Christmas Present to myself. I worked hard – - it’s time to play hard.
Most of you know me. I am a simple person. I don’t spend lavishly unless I absolutely have to. I am frugal in many ways and there are times that I do splurge and when I do, I think big time.
Blogging has been very good to me both personally and professionally. I have learned how marketing works; how branding works and most of all how you can generate a good amount of income from blogging.
2010 was my best year yet and every year, it gets better and better. It’s not easy. It is hard work my friends. Yet, in the end – it does pay off.
So, for my Christmas present – I decided to buy me a Rolex. Yes – a Rolex.
Rolex has a financing plan where you can purchase a brand new watch and you can pay for it for two years without interest. If you budget your money accordingly, anyone could afford a Rolex watch. It’s quite up there and if you don’t have any extra money to spend, I suggest you wait until you do. But if you do – - it’s the best gift you could ever reward yourself.

Mark Salling is having the best time in the Philippines. (I hope!) He is tweeting about his holiday in Boracay constantly with photos as well. The last time was when he was making friends with a bird and he did mention “Boracay” in the tweet.
The most recent one was tweeting that he was having Christmas dinner with the Pacman himself. I guess if you’re a star from Glee, it’s easy to get connections to get you to meet Manny Pacquiao. He seems to really be proud of meeting Manny Pacquiao by saying “dinner my boy”. Besides Jeremy Piven, I didn’t know that Mark Salling is a boxing fan as well.

He’s got a lot of legal battles to fight and you need money to do that. He also wants to keep Wikileaks up and running so I guess that would be a good reason for this. According to Gawker.com, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has signed a book deal in the tune of $1 Million dollars.
I could justify someone like Julian writing a memoir and it would be interesting to read what goes on inside his head. The memoirs I don’t understand (and don’t find the need for) are Sarah Palin’s and Justin Bieber’s. The former definitely lacks substance, and the latter is too young to have enough substance.
Aaron Carter is not dead. He’s alive and well.
Pranksters have done it again. A hoax did a run on the net last week about Aaron Carter’s death. Many celebrities have been victims of this prank including but not limited to Morgan Freeman and Johnny Depp. It’s a morbid kind of joke and I don’t know what prompts hoaxers to spread rumors like that around.
Aaron Carter (Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter’s brother) became aware of the hoax and took to his Twitter account and said,
Wow! That’s a lot of Birkins! Jaz-Z gives Beyonce $350,000 worth of Birkin bags for Christmas!
Sheezaz!!! Jay-Z and Beyonce sure knows how to help the economy. It was reported by the New York Times that Jaz-Z did some last minute “private shopping” at Hermes Flagship store in Manhattan.

It’s “comedy night” at the 36th Metro Manila Film Festival Awards Night.
Star Cinema’s comedy film Ang Tanging Ina Mo (Last Na ‘To!) bagged the most number of awards in tonight’s awards ceremonies held at the Meralco Theater.
The third and said-to-be last installment of this comedy franchise from Star Cinema took home a total of nine awards, including Best Picture and Best Director for Wenn Deramas.
Deramas bested Mike Tuviera for Super Inday and the Golden Bibe and Luis Suarez for RPG: Metanoia.
The comedians also dominated the acting awards.
Ang Tanging Ina Mo‘s lead star, Ai-Ai delas Alas, got her wish when she was named Best Actress for her portrayal of a single mother to more than a dozen children. Ai-Ai was very vocal in saying during interviews that she wants to win the best-actress trophy—wish granted.
