After long battle with cancer, Elizabeth Edwards dies.
This was still a shock even though the news yesterday about Elizabeth Edwards stopping treatment for cancer was all over the web. They had mentioned that there is nothing that doctors can do and that she was surrounded by John Edwards and her family at home. They did say as well that she was given weeks and not months to live.
When I read the headline of Elizabeth Edwards passing today, I was floored. I would have to say that we lost a courageous and graceful woman in Elizabeth. After all the cards that were dealt to her (John Edwards cheating on her, her dying from cancer), she remained as graceful and a strong advocate for mothers and wives alike. She never said anything bad about John Edwards and / or his mistress even at a time when she was hurting the most.
We take our hats off to you Elizabeth and may you rest in peace.

Not sure if this is absolutely necessary for anyone who’s getting ready to tie the knot. Apparently, Maggie Wilson (A Bb. Pilipinas Title holder) and her fiance Victor Consunji thinks so. They released a video on Nov. 26th prior to their scheduled nuptials on December 18th.
I guess it was meant to be done as romantic as possible but it seemed to be hotter than a usual engagement video. It is seductive and sensual.
First, it was cookware. Now, it’s perfume. Megastar Sharon Cuneta continues to build her empire.
Celebrations Cookware by Sharon Cuneta. That was not a big surprise. After all, the megastar is very much known for multi-million peso endorsement deals. She crafted the brand very well and the brand is still very strong today. That brand is Sharon herself.
She recently unveiled her own line of fragrances starting with one called Loving by Sharon. Reminiscing childhood memories of her mom putting on perfume all time as early as “just getting up from bed in the morning” gave her the habit of always putting perfume on and have wished of having her own favorite scent as well.

I don’t know about you but with the 250,000 documents released by Wikileaks.org, I have yet to find interest to read any of them. I just don’t have the time to read through what went on between cables from Russia to the United States or what Hillary Clinton did and did not order to do with diplomats from other countries.
Frankly, I have so much other important things to do than to read through pages of documents I don’t care about. One day, we will all look back in history on this day and say – - wow! That was one hell of a trip.
Cher must have sold her body to the devil to look as good as she does today! Burlesque was fabulous!!
Cher has been an icon and great performer for over so many decades now (four decades to be exact). She’s a league of her own. I must say though. I watched Burlesque last night and I thought it was fabulous!!! I didn’t expect Christina Aguilera to be a good of an actress than she portrayed last night. I mean, a little more training perhaps but overall, she did well.
But Cher?! She has a body that must have been sold to the devil because she looked fantastic!! I mean – at her age? To look like her must have cost her millions but hey, what are you going to do with your money when you die anyway right?
She sang “Welcome to Burlesque” as her opening appearance and you can not help but agree with me on this one. She looks better than any 64-year old momma I know! If I can look a quarter as good as she looks today when I’m 64 – - I would be very happy.
Maybe that’s why I haven’t chosen Josh Duhamel for the Chuvahotness Series. Duhamel booted out of flight from JFK.
I guess in order to make it to the Chuvahotness Series, a guy need not only be sexy and gorgeous but you need to be a gentleman as well. I haven’t chosen Josh Duhamel just yet although I was thinking about it since he is gorgeous and has the body that could make me look thrice.
But his recent mishap in JFK gave us a bit of a view on what he’s like. Apparently, according to report – he wouldn’t stop texting when the plane he was in was preparing for take off. When told by the FA to refrain from texting, witnesses say that he was rude and unflinching to turn off his Blackberry device. The plane had to return to the gate so that offices can remove Johs Duhamel from the flight. Hmmm. I may have to have a talk with Fergie on this issue.
He has now admitted his fault and says that he is sorry. We’ll have to take a second look before I list him as one of my hot hunks in the Chuvahotness series. If he turns out to be a gentleman after all, maybe – - just maybe – - I will reconsider. A guy could be gorgeous but being gorgeous and an asshole doesn’t butter the Chuvahotness biscuit.

First of all, I didn’t know we had a soccer team – let alone to play internationally. Football (as it is normally referred to) or soccer is a sport I knew that we played while studying at University of Santo Tomas. I had a classmate who was really good at it and we would always watch him play and since we knew him, we get excited at the game.
Filipinos are big and will always be big on basketball but I think we are now warming up to soccer (football). To have the Philippines play at the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 Group B (Philippines vs Vietnam) and win, is enough to get Pinoys excited about the game.
I watched the game (VIDEO BELOW) and I was jumping off my seat as I watched them play. Go Go Go Philippines!!! (And I want that player Younghusband to be my next husband!! LOL!)

Google Wants a Piece of the E-Book Market. Launches Google Bookstore with 3 million book titles.
When it’s hot, it’s hot. Amazon made a killing on the Amazon kindle. This may help boost the kindle sales after Google launched 3 million e-books available in its e-bookstore. The one good thing about this is that the book when purchased, can be viewed using any reader that supports the Adobe (TM) platform with javascript-enabled browsers.
The one thing that is unique about Google’s Bookstore is that the books are stored in a digital cloud. This means that you can access your purchased book anywhere that there is an internet connection in Apps for both Android and iOS applications.
Don’t worry if you can’t find an internet connection. According to Google, “once you open your book using our mobile reader apps, your book will sync to your device and you can continue reading it online or offline.”

Chuva’s Travels: European Cruise 2010 – Next Stop – Split, Croatia
One of the most pleasant surprise destinations during this trip. If I hand’t gone on this trip, I probably would have never heard of Split and would even question what would be interesting in visiting Croatia. As the ship approached the port of Split, you could easily see the beauty of the city simply by the structure of the buildings, the nicely-lined palm trees across the pier similar to what we used to see at Roxas (Dewey) Boulevard. I didn’t even know palm trees grew in places other than tropical ones.
When we got tendered (this is when the passengers travel in groups in small boats to get to the shore) and headed off to walk around the city, we were amazed by the city’s cleanliness and beauty. Not only was it beautiful, it had a lot of history to it than you would have ever imagined. Ruins and structures dating back to the Roman empire are visible all throughout the city. One of them was the Temple of Jupiter. I couldn’t tell you much about it because we passed by the the temple so quickly we didn’t even get the chance to understand what it was. There were just too much to see in such short time.

I was more excited about the cities that I was going to visit during the cruise than the cruise itself. I didn’t know that during the cruise, I would rather stay in the ship than on port to get a bit of rest. 
The ship was huge, I thought. It had eleven decks or floors. The main lobby was were they mostly had a band playing music from late morning ’till late evening. The second deck all through the eight deck were mostly cabins or state rooms mixed with formal dining rooms and showrooms. Of course, you have a choice to take a state room with a balcony or an interior state room with no windows depending on the price you can afford. If you can afford more, you can go and take advantage of the royal suites. Chuva couldn’t afford the royal suite or the state room with a balcony. I had to opt for an interior state room since this was an unplanned and non-budgeted trip. I was also nervous about the extra charges you had to pay for excursions and such and any expenditures you may have while on port.
$1 Million Dollars per Month revenue from Advertising – Angry Birds Game
I knew I should have been a programmer creating video games. Techcrunch published a post on how the game Angry Birds on Android is projected to earn $1 Million dollars per month on the ad-supported version of the game.
The game is the most popular game on iTunes being downloaded over 30 million times into different mobile platforms where iPods, iPads and iPhones covering 40% of that (12 million). Yet, the Android version is free and will be ad-supported. It has already been downloaded 5 million times and the projection is a monthly revenue of $1M per month when used on the Android OS.
Hillary Clinton stated that being Secretary of State will be “My last public position”.
Oh no! My friend Gil will totally be depressed once he hears this news. He rooted for Hillary Clinton in 2008 and wanted her to take the highest position in the nation only to be disappointed when Barack Obama was nominated as the party’s representative to run for President.
I guess after Wikileaks, there will be no chance for Sec. of State Hillary Clinton to run for the presidency in 2012 (at least according to Republicans).
In a town hall meeting in Bahrain, the Secretary of State stated:
“I think I will serve as secretary of state as my last public position.”
And added:
“would like to continue working to improve lives for others,” and “probably go back to advocacy work, particularly on women and children and probably around the world.”
It is a shame but what can we do. Life as Secretary of State is already exhausting – imagine life as the President of the United States?
“Every president, if you watch what they look like when they come into office, you can see their hair turn white because it’s such a hard job,” she said.

I found this video of Darren Criss on Youtube uploaded by Rockerrazzi.com two weeks ago and I was “smitten” by it. It was very candid and if you are a Darren Criss fan like I am (post Taylor Lautner, post Lucas Gil), you would absolutely love this candid interview.
The interview was done on a sidewalk while Darren Criss was eating his breakfast from Starbucks. I must admire the person doing the interview because he asked some very good questions like “Do you believe in God?”, or “Is there going to be a gay kiss on Glee and how do you feel about it?”. And did you know that he drives a Benz? Lucky bas****d!

Facebook Profiles turn into cartoons from the 70s, 80s and 90s
It’s fun. It’s reminding us of our favorite cartoon characters when we were kids. Almost everyone of my FB friends have swapped their profile pictures to a cartoon character from their childhood and that’s not something they did.. just because. It is for a serious matter and for a very good cause. It is our chance to raise awareness against child violence. Many children are abused everyday and sometimes result to death.
Surely, you may have kids of your own or nephews and nieces who you love dearly. You probably question why or how others could harm children. We may never know the reasons why but we have a voice to stand up and speak for these children. If you know of someone whom you suspect is being abused or abusing a child, speak out. We must protect the lives of children and their dignity.
Chuva Chienes @ the Movies: Love & Other Drugs and Tangled
Hmmmm. Where do I want to start? I want to start with how expensive it is to see a movie these days! Sheez! $11.50 plus taxes? Come on peeps!! Almost $50 for four people – yikes!
Anyway, we really went to the movies to see Tangled. The Disney film about Rapunzel (princess with the long golden hair). Yes, I loved it. It was magical as I expected. You should bring your kids to see it.
After the first movie, we snuck into the adjacent theater.. .(sshhhhh). We saw Love & Other Drugs. I must say, Anne Hathaway better get an Oscar nomination. She played her part really well and so did Jake Gyllenhaal. There were a lot of nudity (specially Anne Hathaway) and I didn’t mind it at all. Jake was in the buff more times than any past film he’s done and his body is amazing! The butt alone was enough for me to say – give him an Oscar!! LOL! Don’t go looking for a full frontal cause there isn’t any.

I read everything about Darren Criss and if you must know, I’m so in love with him right now that I just divorced my ex-husband Lucas Gil. Hahaha! I took on Criss as my last name as recent as today on my Facebook account. That’s how much I’m in love with him.
I was a bit disappointed though when Darren admitted that he has a crush on the set of Glee. He didn’t even mention my dang name. His crush? Heather Morris!

My heart is officially broken!! Oh well. I just have to steal him from Heather Morris like Angelina Jolie did to Jennifer Anniston. Ha!

Well, today – it was unveiled by chain Peacocks that they will be selling their version of the dress for 14 pounds. Kate Middleton is already setting fashion records by just being engaged to Prince William. How much more of an influence would she be when she officially becomes Princess Kate Middleton on April 29, 2011.
I must tell you – her charm and being soft-spoken reminds me so much of Princess Diana. It’s an instant love at first sight.

For whatever it’s worth, FIFA World Cup 2010 was very helpful for my blog with reference to additional traffic and income of course. I never paid attention to soccer (football) before until this year. It was very successful for South Africa and I actually felt that the world was paying attention to soccer for once – even in the US where soccer is not as famous as baseball and football.
Well, it’s time to announce the hosting countries for FIFA World Cup 2018 and 2022. I know that the US is bidding as well and they have to pitch it to the 22 members of the committee, and Morgan Freeman was one of our pitchers. Even Prince William and David Beckham were pitching for England as well.

Is Princess-to-be Kate Middleton the new Princess Diana?
The events and the parallels between Princess Diana and princess-to-be, Kate Middleton is almost eerie. As soon as Princess Diana was introduced as the bride-to-be for Prince Charles, paparazzis had a feeding frenzy. From the announcement of the engagement to the wedding day, paparazzis were on a hunt to get a snapshot of Princess Diana no matter what it took.
Just like Princess Diana, Kate Middleton is already becoming a fashion icon. Her trademark hats are being imitated and sold in stores already. Her blue engagement dress is a very hot item online right now. Both Diana and Kate are very charismatic and easy to like. You’ll fall in love with them almost instantly.

I waited for her performance watching live last night. There was a technical glitch when she was about to sing “Jingle Bell Rock” and she remained composed. When it was finally resolved, Charice gave it her all.
Uh-Oh – Someone’s in deep trouble: WikiLeaks Founder Julian Assange Wanted By Interpol
In one interview, Wikileaks Founder Julian Assange stated that he enjoys the feeling of exposing the truth. That is what drives him to do what he does.
Within days of his release of sensitive U.S. Diplomatic cables, Interpol has issued a notice earlier today listing Julian Assange as wanted for sex crimes. He was accused of sexually assaulting two women during one of his Wikileaks-related trip in Sweden. The “rape” charge was dropped but the assault charges were upheld. There is an arrest warrant out now to get him.
Julian has been in hiding moving from place-to-place and is staying below the radar for now. According to reports, he uses fake names and different identities in order not to be detected.
There are mixed reactions in the US about him. Some thinks he is a hero for exposing the truth and others think he has compromised the national security of the United States.
