I was in New York over the Christmas Holiday just before the blizzard of 2010. I was supposed to drive back there the weekend after but didn’t really feel like driving back. I enjoy New York City but I don’t like driving in Manhattan. They have crazy traffic rules in the city and you can get a ticket for a buck fifty easy if you make the wrong move.
But, New York City is still the place to be – a great place to hang out and visit anytime of the year. Most specially – that’s where ImprovEverywhere does their random “No Underwear Subway Ride”. Subway rides could be exciting for first-timers but could be boring if you ride it day after day.

Awwww!! Isn’t he adorable??? Sir Elton John and David Furnish Shows Off Baby Boy
The first photo of Sir Elton John and David Furnish’s baby has been published on the cover of UsWeekly. The baby boy named Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John was born via surrogate on Christmas Day.
I was just watching a recorded episode of Brothers and Sisters from Sunday and the episode included an adopted girl by gay characters Kevin Walker (Matthew Rhys)and Scotty Wandell (Luke Macfarlane) and their first weekend with her. I realized how hard it is to raise a child but at the same time, I found the joy you could have with it.
It is nice to see that more and more gay couples are starting to become visible as a family unit. Many gay couples have done this in silence but it is now high time to show off to the world that gays can have families too! Gay couple Neil Patrick Harris and partner David Burdtka also celebrated the birth of their twins back in October.
“You’re so awestruck. What can you say? You take it in. The feeling, the joy, the warmth of his body, his breathing…I will never forget that experience ever.”, said Elton John to US Weekly.
Zachary is sooooo cute!!! I just want to pinch him. 
Another ominous sign? 200 Dead Cows Found In Wisconsin
Many are now wondering what this new omen could be. 200 cows were found dead in Portage, Wisconsin and the owner of the farm said that a virus may have been the cause of the mass death.
Huffington Post reports that according to WSAW, widespread cases of pneumonia are very rare and may highly be unlikely but tests are being conducted to determine the cause.
Wait,did we ever find out the cause of the birds that fell to their deaths, the fishes that washed ashore in many locations including Maryland? How about the crabs in England? Red Tilapia worth 150 tons in Vietnam?
We only hear that tests are being conducted….did anybody hear about the findings?
Should we all be wondering what these mass animal deaths are about? Or should we just sit back and wait for the next occurrence?
Chuva’s First Annual “Pinoy Kilig Factor Love Team Award” goes to……
Fans of Tricia Santos and James Reid must have given up on their love team already. I remember when I created a poll last year about who would fans want to see get together as a love team. The winner of that poll was James Reid and Tricia Santos. They were very strong during that time and the couple won the vote with a 62% total versus James Reid and Devon Seron who ended up with only 38% of the vote.
Now, the tables have turned. Fans of Devon Seron and James Reid came in droves (I’m exaggerating a bit here… ) and voted their love team as Chuva’s first ever winner of Pinoy Kilig Factor Love Team Award. The couple received a total of 60.43% of the votes beating every popular love team in the nation including KC and Piolo Pascual and Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson.
And here’s the surprising thing – James Reid and Tricia Santos received a mere 15 votes counting only 2.3% of the total votes cast by the fans. How weird is that? I guess fans of Tricia Santos now believes that a love team with James Reid will not work after all.
So, to ABS-CBN – - get that movie ready!!! Fans of Devon Seron and James Reid are ready and willing to see the couple together.

A lot of criticism came out of Ricky Gervais‘ hosting of the Golden Globe Awards. Some say it was funny and others say it was purely offensive.
Many jokes that he mentioned during the show seemed to have irked many groups.

Green Hornet takes number 1 spot over the weekend of January 14-16
Taking in 34 Million on its opening weekend that started on Friday, January 14th up to Sunday, January 16th – Green Hornet did well as expected shown on 3,584 theaters nationwide. The Dilemma starring Vince Vaughn followed at number 2 with 17.4 million. True Grit went down to number 3 with gross sales of 11.2 million with total gross sales of 126.2 million considering that the budget was only 38 million dollars is not doing bad at all.
I am actually looking for a good movie to watch with a friend whom I made a deal with. I can’t seem to find the right movie but I might go and see “True Grit” – just because Ben Affleck said it was really good! Hehe!.
It’ll be a good movie to watch this weekend. Any suggestions?
Travel Insurance: Does anyone need it?
I’ve traveled a lot most specially in the last four years. I’ve always wanted to travel ever since I was younger but I just had two issues back then.
- Didn’t have enough money to travel
- Didn’t have much time off to travel
Now that those two issues have been resolved, and that I have found better ways to travel on a bargain, I have been able to travel 18 per cent of the globe. Yes, at least that’s what one website tells me. Still a very low percentage but it’s a good percentage if you look at the length of when I started traveling extensively.
Most of the issues you run into when traveling is getting ill while away from home. Most of us don’t think that because if you travel mostly in Europe or Canada, you can pretty much say that getting ill may be unlikely. But if you travel in the most exotic parts of the globe, you may get ill very easily depending on how careful you are with diet and acclimation to the climate.
I’ve known many folks who traveled extensively while they were students and I envy them. They go to see the world earlier than I did but I have no regrets. One advice I would give students who travel a lot is to obtain extra health insurance that would cover you while you are traveling and way from home. There are student health insurances available out there. You can take chances but if you’re flying to a place to go sky diving or if you’re a thrill-seeker and love to do adventurous things while traveling, I would suggest you obtain one since you’ll never know what could happen.
Getting injured while you’re traveling could be a nightmare if you are not well-covered. You can opt to get health insurance for a minimal fee and these types of insurance can be valid from 6-12 months if you’re going to be away that long.
Burberry’s Menswear Autumn / Winter 2011 Fashion Show – January 15th, Milan
I’ve never been to an actual fashion show except for charity and fund raising. I have attended many of those. But for high-end fashion shows, I can only dream. If I was as prolific about fashion as Bryanboy is, maybe I will be invited to such fashion shows and fashion week around the globe – but I am not. So for now, I can only appreciate what those people experience when watching live fashion shows and what the runway really looks like.
Burberry had their Menswear Autumn / Winter 2011 Fashion Show in Milan last Saturday, January 15th and they have posted the video. First, I wanted to see the video because of the cute models (did you think any less of me?! Haha!) but I was so shocked at the show’s ending and to my disbelief, I actually had to watch it over and over again. I LOVE IT!!!
If you want to see what happens at the end of the show, it would be best to watch the whole thing. Of course, the main theme was winter coats and autumn wear. They are all fabulous. I promise, you will probably be as giddily shocked as I was. Simply amazing.

68th Annual Golden Globes – Complete List of Winners
Hey folks! This is an indication of the upcoming Oscar Awards. If you remember, I already called Natalie Portman Best Actress for the Oscars to take the win for. She took it home for the Golden Globes and it has now solidified my call.
I was pleasantly surprised with The Social Network’s win as best motion picture. I thought that the movie made you think even though it’s not one of those deep movies you need to watch twice to understand. It simply made you aware of what goes on in any kind of business and partnerships when the money starts rolling in. I’ve always listed to the advice that you really just can’t go into any business with best friends. Some people can handle it and other’s can’t. I personally can’t. I don’t want to lose any kind of friendship because of money.
Okay, I missed the Golden Globes but was proud Chris Colfer took home Best Supportinng Actor in a comedy. (Video)

I am so bummed that I missed the 68th Annual Golden Globes and most specially bummed that I missed the moving speech given by Chris Colfer (Kurt) when he won Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Glee.
His quote was all over the net and the papers this morning:

Many of you probably wonder if being gay is born or made. Is it nature versus nurture.
Well, I for one could tell you that it is nature. I was born this way and that no influence, whether it’s an absentee father and a very over protective mother could have turned me to who I am today.
There is an interesting new blog called “Born This Way” and it is a photo essay about how we, as LGBT individuals already knew (our moms probably did as well) at a very young age that we are gay.
My Favorite Pontiff of All Time – Pope John Paul II to Be Beatified May 1
Never have I been so attached to a pontiff like I was when Karol Wojtyla became Pope. I learned about his life early on in my childhood because I went to a Catholic School and they do make children’s comics about lives of saints and all that to spark the interest in children. Well, they mayd a comic book about Pope John Paull II’s life and I was fascinated by him early on.
He was the second Pope whom I was able to see in person. Our high school was obliged to line on the streets in Manila to welcome his visit way back when. I’m not even going to tell you the year cause that will give away my age.. LOL!

You’ve read about it already I’m sure. A new Zodiac sign was added to the list of 12 existing Zodiac signs. The new sign? Ophiuchus. What’s weird about this is that it was inserted between Scorpio and Sagittarius. The new signs are only applicable to anyone born this year (2011). So, I guess I get to keep my sign.
Now, imagine 10 years from now. I could be reading my horoscope with someone born on the same day I was born but in the year 2011. He/she would be reading Taurus and I will be reading Gemini. How weird is that?

When I heard the news, I was thinking – possible. Yes, I didn’t think it would be impossible to have snow on 49 out of the 50 states. But what shocked me was which state didn’t have snow.
I first thought – Hawaii. I was wrong. Hawaii had snow according to CNN meteorologist Sean Morris. It was Florida that was spared from snow. Imagine that?!

On Saturday morning, Gabby, her staff, and many of her constituents gathered outside a supermarket to exercise their right to peaceful assembly and free speech. Gabby called it “Congress on Your Corner” – just an updated version of government of and by and for the people.

Oprah Winfrey, the highly-successful media mogul and billionaire has admitted to becoming depressed after her movie, Beloved flopped at the box-office back in 1998. It was overshadowed by the slasher film: Chucky.
She admitted that she had her chef make her macaroni & cheese (uhhhmm – didn’t know you need a chef to do that but hey, she’s a billionaire – she can do whatever she wants), and when asked how much of it she ate? She said, “I ate about 30 pounds worth.”
Sometimes, I guess we just have to stay with what we know. And if we experience something like this that takes us deep down – - know that there’s a lesson to be learned.
Oprah learned to take the lesson from the experience and turned it positively.
“I think the way life is set up for most people who have the opportunity to succeed, is that if you get the lesson, you don’t have to repeat that again.”
She recently launched her network called “OWN” (Oprah Winfrey Network) on New Year’s Day and have received about 18.5 million viewers on its launch. Not bad. She is the queen of television so she should know how this works.

Sarah Palin using the word #BloodLibel (Blood Libel) on her video gathers more criticism. (VIDEO)
I am not a Jew and I haven’t even read about the word blood libel until just now. It’s trending on Twitter like mad! Why? because Sarah Palin (in her infinite ways of making a fool of herself) used the word on her video in trying to defend herself as a part to be blamed in the Arizona shooting.
Blood libel refers to a legacy of hate during the time of Hitler where Jews are accused of killing Christian children and use their blood in preparation for making Passover matzah. I looked it up online and found that it is an anti-semitic slur that should not even be used let alone a person with much visibility like Sarah Palin.
Here’s her statement from the VIDEO:
“But, especially within hours of a tragedy unfolding, journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn. That is reprehensible.”
Report: Dr. Phil helped Ted Williams to check into rehab today.
People understand and generally, good people will give you a second chance. That is why many support Ted Williams (dubbed as the Homeless Man with a Golden Voice) when he decided to go to rehab.
According to The Hollywood Gossip, Dr. Phil may have played a role in convincing Ted and is reported to have now checked into rehab.
Days after his arrest due to an altercation he had with his daughter, Ted Williams was convinced that he needs help.
Hopefully, he will be able to kick his bad habits and start his life anew, specially now that he’s got multiple opportunities knocking at his door. It’s time for him to turn his life around.

I saw the photo a few days ago while browsing the web. It was posted on Gawker. The post was entitled, How Close It Too Close Between Mother and Son? Apparently, it is a photo of Supermodel Stephanie Seymour and her son, Peter Brant II. From the looks of the photo, I felt uncomfortable as well because it seems too close for a mother and her son to be this intimate let alone be in a public place where photographers are hanging out.
Comments on the post ranged from loving to disturbing to whatever accusations readers were leaving on the post.

We are very grateful that Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is showing positive signs of recovery. I was watching the news last night and saw that she is responding to instructions and even gave the doctor’s a thumbs up. The good news about the information provided by the doctor is that now swelling in the brain has been discovered and her continued response to instructions are confirmation of that fact. Doctors did say that it takes three days for the brain to swell so they are not jumping the gun. We still need to continue praying for her full recovery and the other victims as well.

When I had my online store open, I had to make sure that customers are properly attended to when they call to ask about a product or service that I was offering. It was kind of tough for me to be working full time and running an online store at the same time. Usually, I review all my calls at the end of the day or review email inquiries during lunchtime and so forth.
I had a toll-free number registered back then as well because my business was global. I can accept orders from anywhere in the world and had to be sure that each customer received the proper treatment individually. The problem with my toll-free number before is that I pay a monthly fee for certain minutes that I expected to use and if I don’t use all the minutes that I paid for, I lose them.
Now, an available service called toll free forwarding is something that I can make use of. The calls can be forwarded to any phone I designate so regardless if I am at work or not, I could receive the calls and take them if necessary. And not only that, I get to roll over the minutes that I don’t use to the next month and save money in that way.
I am now looking for viable products to sell and do wait for the announcement of the relaunch of my online store. I was quite successful with it during the time but it was time-consuming and I really couldn’t juggle a full-time job, school and running a business at the time. Now that I am done with school, it will be easier to manage than before.

Many iPhone 4 users who are frustrated with the dropped callls on AT&T and simply cannot switch because they signed a 2-year contract with AT&T are probably more frustrated now with the iPhone 4 availability on Verizon Wireless on February 10th.
Although I am not completely unsatisfied with AT&T, I still wish that I would have waited until the iPhone 4 became available under Verizon. Simply put, I have to wait a year-and-a-half before I could switch.
This puts AT&T under direct competition with Verizon and I wonder if any fee changes will occur in the next two years to manage the competition. I hope so. Everyone could use any savings these days.
The price of Fame: Homeless Man with a Golde Voice, Ted Williams Arrested (VIDEO)
Oh the price of fame. When you get to become an overnight sensation like Ted Williams did after being catapulted to fame in an instant because of a Youtube video, and you have had a dark past – - people will surely take advantage of you.
According to NY Daily News, Ted Williams was arrested due to an altercation with her daughter at the Renaissance Hotel. He was later released and no charges have been filed.
His daughter claims that Ted drinks “a bottle of Grey Goose (vodka) every night, at least” and “That’s not including the Coronas he orders, that’s not including the Budweisers he orders, that’s not including the other alcohol, the wines. He drinks “heavily.”
Apparently, his daughter is threatening to “sell his story” according to Williams.

Match Made in Heaven: Sandra Bullock & Ryan Reynolds Now A Couple?
Radar Online has reported that the couple, Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds were spotted in Austin, TX celebrating New Year’s eve. US Weekly reported that Sandra and Ryan is now a real couple.
Who’s telling the truth here? I would rather both reports be true because I like both Bullock and Reynolds. With Ryan Reynolds’ body of a god and Sandra Bullock’s beautiful bone structure – man, it’s going to be a beautiful child. And she has been through a lot with her ex-husband last year – - she needs a good break and Ryan would be a welcome break after his split with now-ex-wife Scarlett Johansson.
But reps for both actors have denied the rumored coupling so I guess we just have to wait until they confirm it.

I have a lot of respect for Barbara Walters and she deserves my respect. She is one of the most fascinating people I’ve known on Television, an honest journalist and a very good one at that. She’s known to make you cry during interviews and she makes you so comfortable that you spill your guts out when you sit with her.
The recent shooting of Gabrielle Giffords and 13 others in Arizona is a tragedy and it’s a tragedy whether it was caused by Sarah Palin’s Crosshairs Map or not. I agree with Barbara there. Jared Loughner may be mentally unstable and yes, may have had issues in the past but it doesn’t discount the connection between the target list and the violence acted upon them in those districts.
This is what Barbara Walters had to say:
“This is a deranged young man. This is a Timothy McVeigh. Whether this happened because there is…too much commentary, too much violence…whether that really spurred him on or whether he’s just a very sick person, we don’t know and we don’t know what his motives are…to blame Sarah Palin, as some are doing, I think is very unfair to her.”

Verizon officially launches the iPhone 4. Should I be bitter about this?
Way before the announcement was made that Verizon will have the iPhone 4, I switched to AT&T. Granted, I had a great deal because my niece’s boyfriend worked at AT&T. I had all the perks and more. On top of that, my company just switched from T-Mobile to AT&T and we get an employee discount as well for our monthly services. I should be a happy camper right? Don’t get me wrong. I am.
However, when I heard that Verizon might carry the iPhone in 2011 – I was like – What?!! I’ve always loved Verizon wireless because of its very sound connection. I never had a problem while I was with Verizon (except maybe for fees that I see extra from time to time) but Verizon has the best network. One time, our friends and I went to Puerto Rico and everyone couldn’t get a signal – - except for – - MOI! I was with Verizon then.
Things have changed and when you have to trim expenses, you do it. I switched to T-Mobile way back when and I had a great deal with them as well. My move to the iPhone 4 with AT&T was prompted by Technology and a special deal. I would still be with T-Mobile today if the iPhone 4 didn’t come out.
