I was checking my Facebook last night and it was inundated with statuses about AOL buying Huffington Post for $315 Million. Many are suprised that AOL still has the cash to purchase anything. LOL!
Remember the Time-Warner deal? $350 billion worth. Somehow you have to wonder what went wrong with that deal.
But Arianna Huffington is a great business woman and she must know where to take this merger in order to continue to make a profit and benefit both companies.
The Huffington Post is expected to generate over $50 million in revenue for 2011 and at a $100 million run-rate for the next 12 months, with margins at around 30 percent, according to prepared remarks by AOL Chief Financial Officer Arthur Minson.
Best of luck! After the government approves the deal, we could only watch.

Sheesh! I am afraid to become famous in one city let alone the whole world. Every single person in the world who has ever gone on Facebook aged over 7-years of age must know who Mark Zuckerberg is. Yes, the founder of Facebook has found himself being stalked by a guy named Pradeep Manukonda, first stalking him on Facebook and continued emails and then showing up at his doorstep, TMZ.com reports.
A restraining order was successfully filed by Mark to keep this guy away from him restricting Pradeep from going beyond within 300 yards of Mark, his girlfriend and sister.
Pretty scary man. Look at the personal note he sent to Mark Zuckerber last month… freaky!
Hailed as the best Super Bowl Commercial of 2011 – Darth Vader Volkswagen Ad (Little Boy Unmasked – VIDEO)
Each time, on every Super Bowl event – there is a commercial that stands out among all the million-dollar commercials that air during the game. After last night, Facebook statuses were filled with “This is my favorite commercial from last night’s Super Bowl“. The link that was mostly provided by my friends (at least) is the Volkswagen Commercial with little Darth Vader.
Why you ask? Imagine trying to act surprised with a mask on. How do you show the world that you were shocked with what’s going on to your dad’s volkswagen? This kid did and it was awesomely cute! And just the image of the dad trying to amuse his son is priceless. I must vote for it as my favorite commercial as well.
Do you wanna know what the kid looks like? If you ask me, he actually looks more like the Luke Skywalker than Darth Vader and he’s soooo cute!

Early stages of planning… next trip – Brazil (Yes, again!)
Yes peeps – - I’m planning my next trip to Brazil. If you’ve been visiting this blog long enough, you must know how much I fell in love with Brazil and it’s men people (hint hint) when I visited Sao Paulo two years ago. I was there again last year, and this will be the third time that I will visit Sao Paulo and Rio.
The trips that I had were memorable because I’ve met people whom I’ve kept in touch with over the past years. I have new company with this coming trip and worry that he may fall in love with Brazil like I have. The last person I brought with me is so in love with Brazil now that he tells me he will go whenever I go. I only have one warning to this new friend coming with us…. “Don’t fall in love!”

This is always an issue with any game or any sports where a celebrity is chosen to sing a rendition of the National Anthem. It doesn’t only happen here in the US, it happens everywhere. Remember the Philippine National Anthem rendition by Martin Nievera that got so much flack during a Pacquiao boxing match?
Well, last night – as millions of people watch the Super Bowl XLV, Christina Aguilera was given the monumental task of singing the National Anthem and fumbling replacing the “o’er the ramparts we watched” to “what so proudly we watched”. Many of the bloggers immediately put her down while many of the artists supported her effort.

This year, I am going to The National Cherry Blossom Festival 2011 in Washington, D.C. (Peak Bloom Dates Announced)
I plan every year to visit Washington D.C. during the National Cherry Blossom Festival but I never get to go. Somehow, my schedule gets jammed a couple of weeks after Spring begins. But this year, I need to go. The Cherry Blossoms were a gift from Japan and was given to the United States in 1912. To date, there are 3,750 Cherry Blossom trees in and around the basin. It’s been several years since I last went to experience the beauty of seeing the Cherry Blossoms around the Potomac basin. Besides, I need some good photos to post on my blog.

Rightfully so, Oprah Winfrey has put her power on the line for Charice. She brought her the international fame that she’s received starting from a year ago when she was an unknown Youtube singing sensation.
When someone like Oprah takes you under her wing, you know that she has nothing but great intentions for you and your future. I remember her speaking to one of the the tennis player duo, Serena Williams when she was on her show. She asked her, “Who takes care of your money?”, to which Serena replied – “I sign every check just like you said during the last time I was on your show.”

Just a day after I heard about Anderson Cooper being attacked by thugs in Cairo, Egypt – supposedly Mubarak supporters punched Anderson 10 times and kicked him as well – there is a new report that he has gone into hiding now together with his crew due to increasing violence in Egypt.
Americans were urged by the US Government to go to the airports if they want to leave Egypt. Katie Couric and Brian Williams have fled the country for safety reasons.
Anderson says, ” I don’t mind telling you I’m a little bit scared because we don’t really know what the next few hours will hold and I think there’s a lot of people tonight who are scared in Egypt” – Source

Tranny alert. Was Mona Lisa modeled from a man?
An Italian researcher recently emerged to let the world know that the model for the famous Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci was a MAN. Yes, you read that right.
According to the researcher, Silvano Vinceti – the painting itself was filled with hidden codes just as it was confirmed most recently by Italy’s National Committee for Culture and Heritage that they had found initials in the pupil of Mona Lisa’s eyes. It was originally stated that the initials on the right pupil were L and V. Now they are saying that high definition scans of Mona Lisa’s eyes reveal the letters L and S. L for Leonardo and S for Salai or Gian Giacomo Caprotti, Leonardo Da Vinci’s apprentice who he had a very special relationship and a possible lover of Leonardo. Another tidbit as the number “72″ on the bridge in the background which some say in the Jewish tradition represent God and the “72″ disciples in the new testament. Hmmm… I always thought there were only 12? What gives?
However, experts say that there are proof that the original model was Gherardini.
Marani, the Leonardo expert, said at least three historical documents prove that Gherardini was the original model. He said there are no known paintings of Salai, though he conceded it was entirely possible that the young apprentice might serve as a model for other Leonardo works such as “St. John the Baptist.”
The twist and turns, the intriguing details of this painting keeps us interested and that is why the smiling face of Mona Lisa has stood the test of time. The original painting is housed at the Louvre Museum in Paris.
Rejected TV Drama “The Kennedys’” Finds a Home at ReelzChannel; Greg Kinnear stars as John F. Kennedy
Due to historical inaccuracy, the TV drama that supposedly depict a documentary about The Kennedys was rejected by the History channel. It was supposed to be shelved until director Jon Cassar announced on Twitter that “The Kennedys finds a US home” indicating that the movie will air its World Premiere Event on April 3, 2011.
The home? It’s ReelzChannel, the current home of famous shows like Ally McBeal, 3rd Rock from The Sun and Becker.

Commercial banned in Europe for ‘simulating drug use’: Yves Saint Laurent Belle D’Opium perfume (VIDEO)
Although the choreographer had stated that the moves in the YSL commercial was intended, ‘to create an ad inspired by the concept of the removal of excessive movement, focusing on the most simple and profound things’, it didn’t stop ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) to ban the commercial from airing.
Specifically, he claimed the movement of the fingers along the arm, which appeared to mimic injecting heroin, was actually meant to ‘represent the flow of energy in Belle’s body, to represent the roads that led to desire or passion’.
The watchdog had disagreed stating:
We were concerned that in the context of the ad, Belle running her finger down her inner arm could be seen to simulate the injection of opiates into the body.

Just a couple of days after ICE Homeland Security had seized several domains due to the issue of copyright infringement, Wikileaks was nominated by a Norwegian politician for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Why? Because he stated that the website has contributed much on “democracy and freedom of speech” globally. Its release of classified documents over the web exposing government secrets had been criticized by many to have compromised national security. Supporters of Wikileaks have applauded the release of the documents to expose corruption in governments.
People just want to ruin a good thing. Tabloids report Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinksy’s Marriage is on the rocks.
I was reading the paper this morning on my way to work and on the celebrity section, I read this: “Chelsea Clinton’s marriage is on the rocks!”

According to sources, great job offers rained down on Marc after he became part of the Clinton family. He is currently skiing right now in Jackson Hole, WY for a three-month break. I don’t care what anybody says about Jennifer Aniston. I love her and she’s always going to be one of my favorite actresses. Forget the people who keeps saying that Jennifer always cry out that she’s the victim from the Brangelina episode but I must tell you that never once have I seen her complain about that whole thing. She has remained composed and had not used the media for sympathy or anything. I admire that about her. She had moved on from that fiasco earlier than the media had portrayed it.
And since then, she had nothing but hit-after-hit movies and is considered as one of America’s Movie Sweethearts.
But before anything else – - What happened to that movie… uhmm… what’s the title again… uhhmmm – - Oh Yeah! SALT. Oh was it a flop? I guess the title didn’t add much taste to the movie… I’m so sorry….. LOL!
