Rebecca Black was trending on Twitter for two days, specially yesterday – cause of “Friday”?

I have to tell you guys. I was not a Twitter addict until a few weeks ago. I started interacting with my followers and had a blast! Everyone has their own style of tweeting and the challenge is to make the most impact on 140 characters. Interaction with fellow Twitter addicts have been great. I get to know what’s going on in the world in a few tweets. All I did was follow BBC, NY Times and HuffPost. The world news at your fingertips.

So, on Thursday I saw that #rebeccablack was trending. I didn’t pay attention to it then. But yesterday was interesting because it was still trending – and I didn’t know who Rebecca Black was until I finally gave in and Googled her. She is this teen singing “Friday” on a Youtube video that has gone so viral, it now had over 22 million views. It’s funny because there were many tweeters who tweeted, “RT if you don’t know who the f*** Rebecca Black is”. Now everyone knows who she is.

Many opinions out there about her. Many doesn’t think she’s good and many liked her video.

It’s another Justin Bieber waiting to happen. With a popularity like that so sudden and so soon, you know she’ll be showing up on Ellen Degeneres or Oprah sometime soon.
