- The Washington Post reports that Outrage, a publication run by a group of secretly gay active members of the military will soon be allowed to publish Outrage Magazine in Army and Air Force bases after the repeal of the almost 2-decade unpopular DADT.
Once the nearly two-decade-old ban ends, gay men and women serving in military uniform will be able to reveal their sexual identity without fear of dismissal or official rebuke, openly gay men and women will be able to enlist in the military, and gay couples may be allowed to wed at military chapels or live together on military bases in states that recognize same-sex marriages.

There are times when you just have to let go and have fun. Prince Harry is, as we all know it – a party animal. And whether you love him or hate him, he’s just like everyone else. He likes to have a good time but he works hard as well. So, having a wild time once in a while may not be so bad.
Prince Harry visited the town of Hvar in Croatia after training very hard to become an Army Air Corps Apace pilot. So this is a break he was probably anticipating and when he got the chance, he got really into partying.

KC Concepcion admits “they are going through something” about her relationship with Piolo Pascual
It’s been a very turbulent week for KC Concepcion as negative issues targeting her relationship with boyfriend Piolo Pascual have left the public in want for answers and explanations from the two of them.
Speculations have led people to assume that the couple’s relationship is on the rocks and their fans have become worried that something very serious is behind this.
KC finally put an end to the speculations and assumptions about the current status of her relationship with Piolo via phone patch on The Buzz earlier today, August 28.
“The Help” continues to reign at the box office for a straight second weekend in a row.
I couldn’t really complain much. Although I didn’t guess it right again this weekend (Chuva’s choice for number one was “Don’t be Afraid of the Dark”), I was still pleased about this weekend’s winner.
The Help took in first place once again. Wow! Now, I really want to see this film. According to Access Hollywood:
“The Help” has been the No. 1 film for two-straight weekends. The acclaimed adaptation of Kathryn Stockett’s novel about black Southern maids sharing stories about white employers amid the civil-rights movement raised its domestic total to $96.6 million and should cross the $100 million mark Tuesday.
Zoe Saldana’s action tale “Colombiana,” released by Sony, opened in second-place with $10.3 million. Guy Pearce and Katie Holmes’ horror story “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark,” a FilmDistrict release, debuted in third with $8.7 million. Paul Rudd’s comedy “Our Idiot Brother,” distributed by the Weinstein Co., premiered at No. 5 with $6.6 million.
Yay! I want to see Our Idiot Brother as well. I guess I will have to wait until I come back from my vacation. Yes folks, I’m going to the Greek Isles for two weeks. See you all when I return!!
Jennifer Aniston & Boyfriend Justin Theroux Move in Together?
It’s quite good to hear that Jennifer Aniston has finally found someone who loves her and she would love in return. I hope this event of her moving in with boyfriend Justin Theroux would stop all the non-sense that she is still bitter with her split with Brad Pitt.
The girl deserves to be happy as well. I wish people would simply leave her alone and let her be happy on her own. I think she’s a genuine human being with great qualities as well and it’s great that she finally found a man she could be serious with.
E! reports that Jennifer and Justin have moved in together. Whoah! That’s a big step.

She recently launched the Skinny Girl Sangrias. She had two successful reality TV shows and a book as well. So, what’s keeping her in this reality TV business?

In the article, it was stated that Charice, playing the character of Filipina exchange student Sunshine Corazon, signed up for a total of five episodes. Allegedly, a source told NYPost:
“Charice was signed for a minimum of five episodes and did a press junket with [fellow new star] Chord Overstreet. She had a big debut, but things changed and they didn’t put her back in. The word is, Lea is the big star, and producers want to keep her happy.
Steve Jobs has resigned as the company’s CEO: Tim Cook has been named CEO
It is a sad day for Apple as Apple’s CEO and leader Steve Jobs have resigned. Steve Jobs is the backbone of the Apple brand who took a flailing company to become one of the most valuable companies in the world.
Steve had some challenges, specifically with his health. Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer back in 2004, the tumor was successfully removed and he remained as CEO. However, in 2009 he underwent liver transplant and questions about his health continue to surface.
There were no reasons why he gave his resignation but he did strongly suggest that Tim Cook be named as a successor and request to remain as Chairman of the Board. He is a wonderful man who has taken the world to a place its never been before. An innovator and forever will be one of the greatest icons in technology, I wish Steve and his family the best and let’s hope that this resignation is just that, a resignation from Apple.

I loved Rosie O’Donnell – really. I really did love her. I love watching her talk show way back when. But something happened to her after that. She became bitter and all too crazy about being a lesbian. Then, I started to not like her. It has become all about “homosexuality” for her and although I am a homosexual man myself, I had no need to be arrogant.
But then, Oprah came along. You know, the fairy godmother of all. The image portrayed of Rosie on her new show on OWN seems like the “old” Rosie and I liked the old Rosie. So maybe, just maybe – Oprah can save her through this new production on OWN. According to Oprah’s website,

The Devil Wears Prada star, whose older brother Michael is gay, is delighted to see the success of the ruling, and she tells America’s Interview magazine she’s hoping New Jersey officials decide to pass the law as well.
Hathaway says, “They need to get on the New York bandwagon and legalise gay marriage. But I think everybody should do that. It’s not a specifically Jersey thing.”

Miami New Times reports a story about Shawn Loftis (screen name Colliin O’Neal) who became a teacher after dumping his porn past, but eventually found himself suspended after Nautilus Middle School principal was informed of his past and a search using his screen name over the internet revealed some not-so-flattering history. He filed a case against the school yet it was dismissed and even turned down by ACLU since teaching is a profession that “involve supervising children”. He went back into porn.

Wherever you were between Virginia to New York City, you must have felt the #earthquake that shook the East Coast a little bit after lunch time today. I lived in California for two and a half years and just two days ago, I was telling friends that “I have never felt an earthquake in my life!”. God heard that statement and now I know. A 5.8 magnitude earthquake hit the east coast today with the epicenter bing in Mineral, Virginia. The quake was felt all the way through New York City. No major damage reported but an advisory was given to expect aftershocks. Celebrities tweeted their experience as it was happening. Snooki from Jersey Shore tweeted,

Brazil… what is it about you that makes me love you so much?
I’ve been to many countries around the world. You can probably tell if you visit the Travel Category on this blog. I’ve experienced the hospitality of the people in Asia, Europe and South America. But the one thing that sticks out is the experience I had while visiting Brazil. Why? Because Brazil has very close similarities to the Filipino culture. A culture deeply embedded in the Catholic faith, warm and hospitable people and people who love what we Filipinos love…. FOOD!
When I was traveling with my friends who have been to Brazil many times before I even stepped foot on the land of beautiful people, I was led to try the most wonderful food choices around Brazil. One of the most popular was the local bread or pastry called pão de queijo”, the local cheese bread. It’s this yummy, to-die-for bread injected with cheese inside. I know, you’re probably thinking what’s so special about it right? It’s something that you have to try to understand.
Once I got a taste of it, I was addicted. So, every time I visit Brazil (I’ve been there every year for the past three years), it’s something that I have to have.
And guess what? They are branching out in Manila! Yup! The company, Casa do Pão will be opening up in Manila with their famous cheese bread. So, you don’t have to go to Brazil to try it out. It is coming to you. What’s more? The business is starting out this coming September with a soft launch and go full blast thereafter. You will be hearing about it on local TV stations soon. Will you ever elect a person to the highest office in the land who recently hired someone who is directly linked to Uganda’s effort o make homosexuality a crime, punishable by death? I know I wouldn’t. Apparently, Michelle Bachmann is tied to one. Name? Peter Waldron.
He preaches that gay people “eat poop” and shows gay pornography in his church to disgust and inflame his followers. He’s no stranger to American evangelicals—Rick Warren has hosted Ssempa many times at his Saddleback Church in Southern California. As MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow has repeatedly demonstrated, Uganda is sort of a playground for right-wing American Christianist politicians, who view it as a laboratory of sorts for theocratic policy initiatives. Sen. James Inhofe is a frequent visitor.

Public Service: NEWS5’s AKSYON Center conducts bloodletting activity for dengue victims
As dengue cases continue to rise at an alarming rate, NEWS5 public service unit AKSYON Center, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, will conduct a bloodletting activity on Tuesday (August 23) from 10am to 6pm in TV5 headquarters at Brgy. San Bartolome, Quirino Highway in Novaliches, Quezon City. The blood donation activity is open to the public.
Blood donors are advised to have enough rest and sleep before donating blood. There should be no alcohol intake for at least 24 hours and food intake should be light and less-fat.

Everything was hush-hush about Kim Kardashian’s wedding to Kris Humphries. It was worst than the Royal Wedding. Nobody knew who the designer of Kim’s gown was until the day of the wedding and now we all know that it was a Vera Wang gown. Momzilla and Matriarch, Chris Jenner also wore a Vera Wang gown. But that was not the news after the wedding.
Twitter was buzzing and blogs all around are talking about Kourtney Kardashian’s gown which was more grabbing than the actual wedding gown. We don’t know for sure because E! Online was exclusively allowed to officially photograph and videotape the wedding for a show to be aired on October 9 and 10.
Then there’s Lindsay Lohan who was blamed for upstaging Kim Kardashian by wearing a white gown to the wedding. Who wears white to a wedding other than the bride and entourage? I guess Lindsay does.
Oh my – - there will be catfights in the background I’m sure which makes for a good episode on Keeping up with the Kardashians. I bet you can’t wait to see that episode huh? We’ll find out what Kim has to say about all this.

If I could only change my last name from Chuva Chienes-Younghusband to Chuva Chienes-Etheridge, this would have been the time to do it. I am totally enamored by Azkals’ Neil Etheridge. Can’t you not look at the picture above and not fall in love with him? Sheesh! I’m totally in love! Ha!

‘Help’ Didn’t Stay in the Kitchen with $20.5M this Weekend as No. 1 at the Box Office
Who wouldn’t want to see The Help, which was a novel that landed on the New York Times Best Seller, a story about Southern black maids back in the 60s who worked for affluent families.
It’s a pretty compelling story and I wasn’t surprised it climbed up to No. 1 this weekend beating even Chuva’s choice, “Fright Night” to win the box office war.
I think I may just go and see this movie tonight. And maybe, just maybe – my date would want to see it with me.
Rise of The Planet of the Apes took number 2 while Spy Kids: All the Time in the World took the number 3 spot.
