Michael Kors marrying longtime partner Lance LePere
The New York Post reports that Project Runway judge, Michael Kors is going to marry his longtime partner Lance LePere in New York.
After New York’s legalization of Gay Marriage, many couldn’t wait to apply for that marriage license and the news was welcomed across the nation. The article mentioned Michael Kors saying:
“Lance and I are very excited to finally be able to have the opportunity to marry in our home state after many years together,” Kors, 51, said in a statement. “We have no plans for a major party, but we will be getting married privately.”
Just as I’ve always said, my support for gay marriage is not personal to me since I don’t see myself getting married if ever. My support for gay marriage is equal to my support for human rights. We are all created equal and for those who choose to marry, kudos to them.
Congratulations Michael Kors and Lance LePere!

I guess. Haha! The initial reaction that I had when Roseanne Barr jokingly announced that she will be running for President of the United States, “You gotta be kidding!”
But then, as she spoke and said what she will do – making taxpayers be her Vice-President, no taxes, forgiving all student loans and debts – she’s my kind of President! Ha!
Education is sooo expensive here in the U.S. and students face the struggle of paying off debt right after college. It’s a hindrance to a bright future. If at all, at least lower the amount of tuition in schools… that would do it for me.

Now, her very first husband, Ojani Noa (whose tell-all book about his relationship to JLo was successfully banned by Jennifer Lopez) is going to go full-frontal for Playgirl if…. and only if….

I think I’m in love again. ‘Man of Steel’ bulks up on 5,000 calories a day. Henry Cavill – First look as Superman…
If there’s anyone who could closely resemble Christopher Reeves as Superman, there is no one other than the new Man of Steel, Henry Cavill.
And, the British actor didn’t get there easily. He works out 2.5 hours a day and eats a 5,000 calorie diet to pack on the muscle.
“You’ve got to eat protein first, then a little bit of carbs … you’ve gotta keep your hunger levels going”, says Cavill.
He doesn’t have to work out for me. He can just be like who he is today and I will take him… although a few muscles won’t hurt. 
And what did he say when he donned the read and blue suit for the first time?
“There’s no other feeling like it … I turned around and look[ed] in the mirror and you can’t really play it cool – you sort of guffaw and laugh. I thought ‘OK, holy hell, this is real, it’s not a joke anymore.”

Jokingly, Mark Wahlberg passed the torch of sexiness to Twilight werewolf, Taylor Lautner while at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Luncheon in Beverly Hills. Mark quipped:
“I’m sitting at a table with a gentleman who is better looking than you and is in better shape than me,” the ’90s underwear model told LeonardoDiCaprio Thursday at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s luncheon in Beverly Hills. “So, we’re both out of a job, dude. Taylor Lautner! We’re screwed.”

Kim Kardashian’s Wedding Dress Designer Revealed!
I know, I am too late in catching wind of the news that Kim Kardashian‘s wedding dress designer had been revealed a couple of days back.
First off, I am jealous of Kim Kardashian because she gets to marry (and have sex with) Kris Humphries! He’s soo hot!
And now, I’m even more jealous that her wedding dress will be designed by none other than, Vera Wang!
“Kim and I often spoke of creating a fantasy wedding gown,” the designer said. “I’m so excited! As a friend of the Kardashian/Jenner clan, I wish the engaged couple all the joy and happiness in the world!”
I can’t wait to see the dress revealed when the couple gets married on August 20th.

Who knew? Miley Cyrus gets pro-gay tattoo, starts a Twitter war #gaynews
Remember when Miley Cyrus bravely posted a photo of her new tattoo supporting marriage equality (gay marriage)?
Well, I loved it. But somehow, a few of her fans didn’t love it as much.
Follower @MileyCyrusLover challenged her after her tweet with bible verses against homosexuality. Well, our popstar didn’t back down and responded instead.
Shortly after Cyrus showed off her ink, one of her followers, named @MileyCyrusLuver, tried to engage the pop star in a theology debate by citing Bible verses against homosexuality. Cyrus kept her rebuttal short: “Where does it say in the bible to judge others? Oh right. It doesn’t. GOD is the only judge honey.” Alas, the same can’t be said of her strong-minded fans. Over the weekend, a full-scale Twitter battle erupted between her fans, who reportedly went so far as to Tweet death threats against @MileyCyrusLuver. Eventually, Cyrus had to intervene in support of her antagonist, “Dude everyone lay off @MileyCyrusLuver Love u! Everyone is entitled 2 opinions! ‘if u don’t stand 4 something you’ll fall for anything.’”
Darn straight Miley! I love that! If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for everything! Amen!

The Bachelorette Finale: Did you watch it? Was it believable to you?
I don’t know about y’all but I don’t buy it. I have never watched or followed the The Bachelorette or The Bachelor series. Yet, last night, I felt compelled to watch the finale just because a friend of mine wanted to see it.
Ashley Hebert picked the guy she fell in love with, J.P. Rosenbaum. I seriously thought that she would pick bachelor Ben Flajnik not because he is cuter because I thought J.P. was cuter (oh, and did you see that time when he was putting his clothes on to get ready for the big day? Hmmmm). But, it felt so fake to me until I saw Ben Flajnik’s reaction at the end when he didn’t get picked. He was 110% sure he was going to be the one and I thought his reaction was very honest and real.
That’s when I got confused about the reality of it all. I guess it can happen if I have to date 20 guys and be filmed all the way, I am bound to be attached to one of them. But to get married to him? That’s a little too weird for me.
Well, Ashley picked her man…. I wonder how long it will last.

Nora Aunor assures the public she will fulfill her duties without fail.
This comeback means so much to Nora Aunor.
She herself sees this as a golden opportunity to start anew and be comfortable with the milieu—to which, she turned her back almost eight years ago.
But, “Wala,” she said twice when asked about her expectations.
In an exclusive interview held earlier today, August 2, she told PEP.ph and YES! magazine that she wasn’t thinking about anything while on board her plane.
“Sabi ko nga, bago pa ako umakyat, nasa airport pa lang kami, wala akong nararamdaman, sa totoo lang. Wala akong naramdaman. Walang reaksiyon sa sarili ko,” began Ate Guy (her nickname).
But reality sank in the minute they arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
She continued, “Nung bago ako bumaba at nung papalapit na yung ano dito, parang nag-umpisa na ba yung pagkaba ng didbdib ko na, siyempre, nag-aalala ako kung papano’ng tanggap nila dahil sa tagal ng hindi ako umuwi nga rito.
“Siyempre iniisip ko kung, ‘Ano kaya? Ganun pa rin? O mayro’n pa ring mga tao na magmamahal?’ Gano’n…”
Assurance prevailed over apprehension after finding out that people were still excited to see her.
Smiling, the 58-year-old actress exclaimed, “Kaya nga lang, nagulat ako nung pagbaba ko ng ano…Sa loob pa lang ng eroplano, may nagbalita na maraming tao, andun yung mga fans.
“Saka lang ako naniwala na ganun nga…Talagang natuwa po ako dahil sa magpa-hanggang ngayon ay ipinakita pa rin yung respeto at pagmamahal talaga ng mga tao sa akin, lalo sa press at sa mga fans.”
WHAT TOOK HER SO LONG? The Noranians waited two years before this comeback materialized.
It will be recalled that as early as 2009, reports claimed that she was set to do a digital film with Celso Ad. Castillo as director.
In February 2010, she flew to Japan and underwent a cosmetic/beauty enhancement operation, which was cited as a preparation for her impending return.
Her supposed November 2010 trip back to Manila got postponed twice, until finally, at 3:00 this morning, Nora arrived.
She recounted, “Alam mo, may mga insidente kasi na dapat na may mga binalak ka ‘tapos naudlot.
“Yung pagkaudlot na ‘yon, nagbigay ng pagkakataon na mas maganda yung kahihinatnan nung mga ano na ‘yon, ng mga nangyayari ngayon.
“Kaya, actually nung unang balak kong pumunta rito. Ang talagang dadalawin…Wala akong inisip na may press, may ano…Kasi ang naipangako ko lang sa sarili ko, uuwi ako para sa kapatid ko, si Buboy, na talagang dadalawin ko sa Antipolo nga dahil matagal ko na ring [hindi nakikita].
“Maliban dun kay Buboy…Pero yung priority ko talaga, si Buboy. Siyempre, yung mga kapatid kong iba at mga anak ko.”
The press conference, she said, was an add-on.
Resuming her statement, “Wala talaga akong inasahan na mag-aano sa press. Kaya sa akin, ke may press o walang press, basta’t uuwi ako para sa kapatid ko.
“Kaya lang, nung nabalita nga na uuwi ako, tumawag nga sa akin si ano na huwag ka munang umuwi dahil may negosasyon na nangyayari. So hindi muna ako nakauwi.”
Her contract with TV5 was brokered by German Moreno and Suzette Ranillo, who are both Nora’s closest friends in showbiz.
“Kasi ang inisip ko din naman, pagdating ko dito, nakahanda siyempre yung TV5, mapupuntahan ko rin ang kapatid ko.”
And she feels grateful for the trust given to her by the station owned Manny Pangilinan.
All throughout the press conference, she kept on underscoring TV5, “Kung wala sila na nagtiwala sa akin, hindi niyo ako kausap ngayon,” she said.
She echoed this statement during our one-on-one interview, “Kaya yun ang isang pagpapasalamat ko sa TV5 nga na nagtiwala pa rin sa ‘kin. Sila lang talaga ang nag-ano na pumunta ako dito at nagpa-prima ng kontrata sa akin—yung pagtitiwala ba.”
Another reason for Nora’s return is her kids—Lotlot, Ian, Matet, Kiko, and Kenneth.
At the time of this interview, she has not talked to any of them.
“Pagkatapos nito, puntahan ko muna kapatid ko, ‘tapos tutuloy ako sa mga anak ko,” she said.
She called her reunion with them a “meeting.”
In a quite contrite tone, she confessed, “Nawala sa amin kasi yun, e. Yun bang para kaming nagmi-meeting? Monthly kung magkikita kasi kami nun [dahil sa] trabaho ko ‘tapos nag-aaral sila, so hindi kami nakakapag-usap kadalasan. Pero pag may oras kami, yun, nag-mi-meeting kami. Parang nag-mi-meeting kami nang buong pamilya.”
Back in the States, she learned to rely on electronic communication because that’s how she gets to talk to her kids.
“Kami ni Lotlot, nag-uusap kami. Kami ni Ian, nag-uusap kami. Sa email, nag-i-email kami. Natuto na rin,” Nora shared, smiling.
WHAT TO EXPECT. After attending to some personal matters, Ate Guy’s focus will be on her projects: a film with Governor ER Ejercito and a mini-series with TV5.
Her comeback goes with a commitment to change.
“Yung [pagbabagong] sinabi ni Kuya Germs in terms of paggawa ng yung proyekto, sa scheduling…Dahil yun ang number one na reklamo nila sa akin noon, yung nale-late. Yung hindi dumarating, medyo hindi rin ako pabor dun kasi, nale-late ako pero dumarating pa rin ako.
“Pero yung mayro’n akong hindi sinipot, sumisipot din naman ako puwera na lang…Kasi rebelde ako masyado nung araw.
“Pero hindi na ngayon…Sa ngayon, hindi pala maganda yung gano’n. Kelangan may mga bagay na dapat mo talagang…kahit ayaw ng puso mo, pero dapat na gawin mo para wala kang masaktan na tao,” she promised.
Is she ready to face the ugly side of the business—the controversial and the negative?
Nora replied, “Alam niyo po, asahan na po natin yun kasi, kahit na nga wala ako rito, e, [yung] mga negatibo pa rin na gumagawa nun?
“Hindi natin mawawala yun. Parang ano ‘yan, e, parang pulitika ‘yan, e, di po ba, na kahit wala kang ginagawa, pangungunahan na nila may ginawa ka. Inaasahan ko na po yun.”
The editors and reporters invited to her first official event in Manila gave in to her request: steer clear of the past issues.
But she made a commitment to clear the clutter, ”[Pag] mapatunayan ko sa kanila na wala na yun. Sana naman, huwag nang magsulat ng kung ano yung ikakasama, hindi po ba. Parang maging fair naman po sila sa tao.”
WHEN CAN SHE SING AGAIN? Sadly, recording an album or performing will not be part of her three-month stay.
“Alam niyo po, pagka nakakarinig ako o nakakapanood ng mga singer talaga [na] kumakanta, umiiyak ako talaga kasi, hanggang ngayon, hindi ako maka…Hindi ako makakanta talaga. Kailangan pumunta ako ng Boston para maipa-opera ko uli yung boses ko.
“Dahil kasi sa pag-ano, parang yung balat, dumikit sa buto. So maski nagsasalita ako, e, parang…Napapaos kaagad ako. Parang hindi maganda, e.”
She did not elaborate on how she lost her singing voice. “Alam niyo na yun,” she said, referring to the cosmetic/beauty enhancement operation in Japan that reportedly damaged her vocal cords.
But she’s hopeful that she will be able to go back to her first love.
“Pero may pag-asa na baka sakali…Umaasa pa rin ako dun,” she said.
WHAT’S UP WITH HER LOVELIFE? When we politely inquired about the status of her lovelife, she was hquick to say, “Hay, Huwag na nating pag-usapan…”
As a way of assuring the people that believe in her, “Wala na po yun. Oo. Huwag na. Wala po. Kasi ano yun, e, sa lahat ngayon, kung ano yung inaasahan ng mga fans, kailangang magawa ko iyon para sa kanila.
“Pagka nakita ng mga fans na wala yung mga intriga, kung anuman yung intriga na sinusulat sa akin, matutuwa na yung mga fans, alam ko. At kung ano yung mababalita nila na mga magaganda na manggagaling sa akin at makikita nila ng ginagawa ko na totoo…”
The lady had her share of deleterious publicity—a drug case, a wedding in Las Vegas, sightings in casino, to name a few—and she’s hoping that the past issues will be water under the bridge.
Nora had a long flight, but her eyes both smiled and sparkled. She was in her element.
When asked about her palpable confidence, she said with much enthusiasm, “Dapat lang po. Kasi hindi ano, e, hindi na dapat siguro nung araw na magpa-tweetum ka o kaya para lang hindi masira yung image mo, kailangang magsinungaling.
“Yung totoo lang siguro…Kasi mas naniniwala ako na kung ano yung totoo na puwede mong sabihin, hindi ka…magkamali ka man, konti. At yun, puwede na sigurong mapatawad ng mga tao yun.”
She said she’s more focused this time, and is willing to set aside her “personal life and desires.”
Lastly, she perfectly knows why she’s back. “Trabaho,” she said, sounding determined to make things better this time.
