Manila International Airport is at number 5 of the world’s most hated airports – Ouch! But I agree!
Are we ashamed yet? How much more publicity do wee need regarding how bad our International Airport is until we act on it? Is there really something that’s being done to improve NAIA? I had believed President Noynoy Aquino when he said that Terminal 3 will be fully up and operational as our International Airport by December 2010. That has not happened has it?
Beleaguered by ground crew strikes, unkempt conditions, soup kitchen-style lines that feed into more lines and an overall sense of futility, NAIA brings the term “Stuck in the 1970s” to a new level.
At Terminal 1 all non-Philippine Airlines remain crammed despite serious overcapacity issues and a new and underused Terminal 3 is occupied by a few minor carriers.
A rash of bad press this year (including a “Worst in the World” ribbon from Sleeping in Airports) was capped by a collapsed ceiling in T1, a paralyzing ground service strike at T2, and the usual charges of tampered luggage, filthy restrooms, seat shortages at gates, re-sealed water bottles sold in retail shops and an Amazing Race-style check-in routine spiked with bureaucracy, broken escalators, lengthy Dot Matrix passenger lists and creative airport departure fees.

Sa ikatlong bahagi ng tell-all interview ni Ruffa Gutierrez sa Paparazzi Showbiz Exposed, tinalakay ang pagkakaroon muli diumano ng tensiyon sa kanila nina John Lloyd Cruz at Shaina Magdayao.
Nagsimula raw ito nang magkita ang tatlo sa birthday party ni Bea Alonzo sa Establishment sa The Fort noong October 8, 2011.
Tanong ni Mo Twister kay Ruffa, “Actually hindi ito nag-start sa party ni Vina, a week prior sa party ni Bea Alonzo. How did the tension start as far as you know so far?”
Saad ni Ruffa, “Well, you know Mo, I didn’t have a plan to go to Bea’s birthday but I met her at Esquire Ball, and sabi niya, ‘Miss Ruffa please pumunta ka sa birthday ko.’
“Alam mo si Bea, na-miss ko din ‘yan, e. Nakasama ko ‘yan sa I Love Betty La Fea.
“Raymond [Gutierrez, Ruffa's brother] was going, Georgina Wilson was going… We all went together with Cristalle Belo and Garlic Garcia.
“We all went there, stayed for ten minutes.
“I saw JL from a far, he smiled, I smiled.
“We didn’t even see each other up-close. We didn’t talk.
“I didn’t see Shaina at all.
“So I didn’t even know that she was there.
“Although Roxy [Liquigan] from ABS-CBN was the one who picked me up and said that Shaina was there.
“Ang para sa akin, ang tagal na nun, Mo. It was, lik,e more than two years ago.”
Ang tinutukoy ni Ruffa ay ang maiksing relasyon nila noon ni John Lloyd.
Patuloy niya, “We will bump into each other at events, we will bump into each other at parties. This is a small industry.
“And para sa akin, if Bea and John Lloyd and Shaina was there, okay lang batiin ko, hello!
“I mean, tapos na yun, di ba, wala na.
“Nagulat na lang ako.”
Sabat ni Mo, “So, paano mo nalamang may tension sa party?”
“Siguro kung meron kay Shaina, hindi ko na alam yun.
