What Are You Doing New Years Eve? by Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt goes viral (VIDEO)

If you’re like me, who just underwent an appendectomy two weeks ago, you probably don’t have plans for New Year’s Eve.  But, a chance of that occurring to you is close to nil so I wouldn’t even think that you don’t have plans for NYE.  But, just in case you don’t – maybe you could just melt through this video made by Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Godon-Levitt and be content with staying home alone and not worrying about a hangover on January 1st.

The video has become viral and is now on Google Trends – - and why so?  Just watch:

The KC Concepcion Revelation Backlash and Piolo Pascual Gender Issue. Whose side are you on?

An article via Pinoy Parazzi had given assumptions from a “source” that KC Concepcion was regretful of her actions (and spilling the beans) about her relationship with Piolo Pascual after she realized that she’s still madly in love with the hunky actor.

Comments filled the article different opinions and positions on the matter.  Since Piolo Pascual decided to keep quiet after the explosive interview that KC gave to Boy Abunda on The Buzz, most believe that Piolo came up as the winner to this blame-game.

The same source said that Piolo’s career was not affected at all with the gender issue thrown at him after the interview and that in fact, had more offers for endorsements and projects.  It also implied that KC experienced a backlash since she has now been labeled “tactless” by coming out and attacking Piolo on national TV.

Both KC Concepcion fans and Piolo Pascual fans were leaving comments airing their side and protecting their idols.

What do you think?

As we enter 2012 – what are making headlines?

As we all close our chapter for 2011 and get ready to welcome 2012, what are the issues that are making headlines right now?

Well, I found out this morning that it has nothing to do with the economy or jobs for that matter.  LOL.

One of the headlines include how pricey First Lady Michelle Obama’s clothes are.  Or, why the Kardashians have marketable appeal.

Funny how we take pleasure in reading or watching  someone else’s life.  That’s the reason the Kardashians are millionaires.  I have a friend who despises the clan and every time he sees any of the KKs on television, he either switches channels or turn it off.

One interesting read for me was the power celebrity couples who parted this year.  Can you name a few?  Well, if you want to see the complete list – - you can head over to Jezebel.  It seemed like there was a break-up every month until November.  Is December going to be the month for Katy Perry and Russell Brand?

Since we are all interested in things that matter (LOL!), let me wish all my readers a very Happy and Prosperous New Year.  You all know I won’t be drinking (for the first time in years!!!!) come New Year’s Eve.  I will probably be watching a marathon of any reality show re-runs.  Honestly, I’m sick of watching Kim and Kourtney Take New York.  Any suggestions?

Gunshot to the head killed Star Struck hunk Tyron Perez. Suicide suspected, not ruling out foul play just yet.

Tyron Perez , a young and very promising actor was found dead in the backseat inside his car, a Toyota Altis Sedan Thursday night in Valenzuela.  He had a gunshot wound to the head, said to be from a .22 caliber firearm.   The gun was found right beside him and they are suspecting an apparent suicide but officials are still investigating for foul play.

Perez, 26 was a contestant from the reality talent show StartStruck 1 back in 2003.  He landed a role on “Mula sa Puso” and was recently in a very popular drama show “MMK (Maala-ala Mo Kaya)” which aired on December 3rd.  He also landed the lead role for a 2006 film, Twilight Dancers.

Police said that a friend of Perez, Alvin Salazar had mentioned to his wife earlier that day that he may be committing suicide but nothing out of the ordinary was observed from the actor’s demeanor during his last few days.  The actor’s apparent suicide may have been related to gambling debts according to Salazar.    They said that Perez was even forced to sell his wife’s car to pay off gambling debts.

His friends and batchmates from the reality talent show like Mark Herras, Jennylyn Mercado, Yasmien Kurdi, Cristine Reyes, Dion Ignacio, Nadine Samonte and Rainer Castillo were shocked when they heard the news of his passing.

Another StarStruck discovery, Marky Cielo died in December of 2008.  He is also the second actor with the family name of Perez who passed away this year, with AJ Perez‘s passing involving a car crash.

A photo of the actor lying in state appeared online Friday morning as shown below:

Not everyone has given up just yet – ROBERT REICH: Get Ready For A Obama-Clinton Presidential Ticket

Would you support an Obama-Clinton ticket in 2012?

Robert Reich from the Business Insider believes that it will be the most powerful ticket next year.  He speculates that if Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton swapped positions in 2012, it would probably guarantee a sure win for the Democrats.

His points make sense and if you think about it, why not?

But then again, Hillary Clinton has vowed that the Secretary of State position will be the last public position she will hold.  Could that change?  Maybe.

What’s your take?

RIP Star Struck Alum Tyron Perez Found Dead in an abandoned car

Social micronetworking site Twitter was buzzing about an hour ago when @mjfelipe announced that an alumnus from reality show StarStruck, Tyron Perez was found dead in an abandoned car in Valenzuela.  Reports though unconfirmed,  say that it is an apparent suicide.

The model actor took a lead role in the film Twilight Dancers back in 2006.  He also had roles in several television shows including “Maala-ala Mo Kaya”, “Mula sa Puso” and many others since 2003.

Farewell and Rest in Peace Tyron.

Hope we don’t get into another war. Iran threatens to close Strait of Hormuz – US says, it will not be tolerated.

There are reports of threats by an Iranian admiral that due to the threats of sanction against Iran, they could easily close Strait of Hormuz (the channel in the Red Sea) where most oil tankers pass.

“Closing the Strait of Hormuz is very easy for Iranian naval forces,” Iran’s navy chief Habibollah Sayyari told state-run propaganda channel Press TV. “Iran has comprehensive control over the strategic waterway.” His comments followed similar words from Vice President Reza Rohimi yesterday, and an announcement a few weeks ago that the Iranian navy would be conducting military exercises to simulate shutting the Strait of Hormuz, through which 40 percent of world’s sea-borne oil passes.

What do you think would happen should Iran do this? It will cause oil prices to rise (hence the jump in the trading today). But the question is, can they do it? So far, the US 5th Naval fleet said that they won’t let it happen. And be certain that our European allies will stand behind the US in this one.

Is it more likely that they could? Yes. And could there be war if they did? I say yes. Let’s all hope that these are just words and that with proper reasoning, it will not happen. The Pentagon had already warned that “it will not be tolerated.”

Kristine Hermosa gives birth to a healthy baby girl. First photo shared by Oyo Sotto via Instagram.

Kristine Hermosa gave birth to a bouncing baby girl on Monday, December 26th.

Kristine announced two months ago on her FB account that they were expecting a baby girl and sure enough, Ondrea Bliss was born.

“Ondrea Bliss was born yesterday, December 26 through normal delivery at 11:49 p.m. Her weight is 2680 gm. Tin is okay and still recovering. She was brought to the hospital around 6 p.m. yesterday,” said the baby’s father, Oyo Sotto.

Oyo Sotto quickly shared the first photo of their baby via instagram showing the baby’s feet and name tags bearing the name of the baby’s parents.

In an interview with “The Buzz” last November, Hermosa said Ondrea means “strong and courageous” while Bliss means “unmeasurable joy.”  The couple also has a 3-year old adopted son named Quiel.

MMFF 2011 Blockbusters – Enteng ng Ina Mo on the lead with P32.8 M

Join two past blockbuster films in one and what do you get?  Another blockbuster film!

Enteng ng Ina Mo took the lead among the MMFF 2011 entries in ticket sales.    Starring Vic Sotto and Ai-Ai de las Alas, the two blockbuster stars have joined forces to create a movie that was sure to capture the box office ratings this time around.  It’s a family-oriented film and therefore, it was a sure win.  The film took in PHP32.8 M

Following Enteng ng Ina Mo was Ang Panday 2, starring Bong Revilla and Marian Rivera earning a whopping PHP20 M.

Kris Aquino and Dingdong Dantes stars on the horror film, Segunda Mano which took the third place with PHP 18.25 M with comedy My Househusband starring Eugene Domingo taking a close fourth place with PHP 17.33 M.

Not bad for the Philippine movie industry.  It proves that Filipinos still patronize their own and have kept MMFF season at the top of the movie-earnings game year-after-year.

Someone just beat Kim Kardashian. Sinead O’Connor Ends Fourth Marriage After 18 Days

At least, this one had a semi-good excuse.

Sinead O’ Connor, well-known for her rebellious displays in the 80s, most notably when she tore a picture of Pope John Paul II after her performance on Saturday Night Live, had re-married to therapist Berry Herridge a little less than three weeks ago.   This was her fourth marriage but we could say, the shortest as well.

She announced on her website, the reasons why she  ended her 18-day marriage.

“Entitled as they are to their opinions about me many perhaps well deserved, there was no righteousness on anyone’s part to put my husband through what he was put through as a result of his desire to be with me and to marry me and as a result of his actually marrying me,” Sinead, 45, wrote.

“Within 3 hours of the ceremony being over the marriage was kyboshed by the behaviour of certain people in my husband’s life. And also by a bit of a wild ride I took us on looking for a bit of a smoke of weed for me wedding night, as I don’t drink,” she added. “My husband was enormously wounded and very badly effected by that experience and also by the attitude of those close to him toward our marriage. It became apparent to me that if he were to stay with me he would be losing too much to bear.”

She probably didn’t want her new husband to go through the pain of being ostracized for marrying someone like her.

“A woman wants to be a joy to her husband,” she wrote. “So.. U love someone? Set them free.”

Hmmm.  Somehow, that makes sense.

I am totally apalled!! Homophobic Calendar by Christian Cartoonist on Sale at Amazon, Barnes & Noble

This is why I am ashamed many times for being a Christian.  It is because of these so-called Christians that give the word Christian a bad name.

A “Christian” cartoonist named Joe King has launched a homophobic calendar which from the cover alone, I am already disgusted and would not want to know what is inside.  Call it humor, call  it fun.  It’s not funny.

The calendar with a cover page that says, “I’m not Gay, I’m just a Sissy” is enough to make my blood boil.  According to a commenter on Towleroad, the month of February says, “We’ve all got AIDS.”  Furthermore, what irritates me is that the calendar is being sold at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.  Seriously?

We should all complain to Amazon and Barnes & Noble to take this type of publication out of their inventory.

Go to this link to complain to Amazon.   And you may also call B&N to complain.

Here’s the number:  #1-800-THE-BOOK (1-800-843-2665).  Give them a call and ask for a supervisor.

Ruffa Guttierez is being blamed for the rumor that MVP is buying GMA-7 Network

Could this be the start of a never-ending war between Networks?  Is TV5 Owner, Pangilinan really offering to buy GMA-7 Network for P500 billion?

The rumor got started when one of TV5′s talent, Ruffa Gutierrez tweeted this:

“Guess what MVP is buying next?? Found out last week through a little birdy but the few people I told didn’t believe me. Now its CONFIRMEDDD.”

Followers of the actress on Twitter soon assumed that MVP is negotiating with GMA-7 to acquire the network.  GMA-7 or the Kapuso Network is the biggest rival of ABS-CBN.  With talents jumping ship from ABS-CBN to TV5 and GMA-7, the playing field has become very competitive.

Once the rumor mill started, the actress/host was quick to deny that she started anything saying,

“READ my tweet again. I never confirmed what MVP is buying! Kaya sa mga assuming, don’t put words in my mouth. Yes and that includes you!”

Not being content that she made herself clear, she followed up with another tweet saying,

“The possibilities of MVP’s buying power is endless. At this point, his next investment could be ANYTHING.”

Now, what could it be that has been CONFIRMED that Ruffa was speaking of?  Whatelse could there be?  An island?  A country?  What is MVP buying?

Anyway, GMA-7 execs denied the rumor saying:

“There is no truth to the rumor going around in social media sites and the internet that Mr. Manny Pangilinan has bought GMA Network.

“In fact, there is no negotiation going on between GMA and Mr. Pangilinan regarding the latter’s acquisition of GMA-7.”

“Pangilinan declines to comment on GMA speculation, saying he’s on ‘half vacation mode.’

“Official statement to come in due course.”

Hmmm.  Something is fishy.  I’m sure that where there’s smoke, there’s fire.  So, come on Ruffa – - fess up.  You must know something.

Good for her! KC Concepcion will host The X Factor Philippines

When they said that “When one door closes, another one opens.”, KC Concepcion must find  it very true as she closes the 2011 chapter of her life. We recently saw how painful it was for her to go through her public break-up with ex-boyfriend of a few months, Piolo Pascual.

She decided to do an interview with Boy Abunda on The Buzz to air her side of the story. There were many negative reactions but mostly positive reactions in her doing the interview.

OUCH! MMFF executive committee cancels special award for Nora Aunor. Seriously?

No one can deny that Ms. Nora Aunor is one of the greatest actor in the Philippines.  Regardless of what had occurred in her personal life, she deserves to be recognized.

The recent cancellation of the special award by MMFF to Nora Aunor is a slap in the face no matter what the reasons may be.  It could be a misunderstanding.  However, how organized are the officials of the MMFF to cancel a special award at the last minute?

The reason?

All you need: Ipod, Dept. Stores, Mariah and Christmas video goes viral

This video got me into the spirit of Christmas right away.  It’s the 24th of December, I am sitting at home after an appendectomy a week ago to be exact and wondering what Christmas will be like for me this year.  I was getting depressed since I cannot travel and I can only stay within a few feet off my bed.  But then, I saw this video and I’m all happy now!  This is how Christmas should be – - dance like nobody’s watching!  Merry Christmas!!!

Nashville resident Preston Leatherman has made quite a splash online with his freestyle dance moves in local malls. His fun YouTube video — shot by his friends — has already gone viral and is fast becoming a holiday hit.The boy is the newest sensations on YouTube. As of Wednesday morning, his video — titled “Singing with an iPod in Public, Christmas Edition” has nearly 733,205 views. What is perhaps drawing all the attention and curiosity is the fact that the video has no second-takes, no rehearsals. Everything is improvised.

SECOND VIDEO OF RHIAN RAMOS AND DJ MO TWISTER SCANDAL ( KISSING VIDEO) ON YOUTUBE, A FAKE

Yes, there is a second video. And yes, it leaked out and has been published. Is that what you’re looking for? Well, look no further – and may I say, don’t watch it on Youtube – since the one uploaded by a certain NaiderKynzspearzVEVO is not an authentic video but rather, a fake video designed to scare you. It’s filled with ads and by the time you remove all the ads, you will be greeted by a screaming scary looking girl.

However, the second video released after the abortion video scandal of DJ Mo Twister and Rhian Ramos is making rounds elsewhere. The release of the video has been denied by the accused himself, MO Twister.

He stated:

This latest video was not one in my possession. It was not recorded on my laptop.

He also included this statement on his Tumblr accoung:

I hope I can be as clear as possible that this is not my doing. This latest video was not one in my possession. It was not recorded on my laptop.

Now, would you believe his statements? If he didn’t have this video uploaded in his laptop, who would have recorded the video and whose laptop was it on? Can you tell that he’s looking at the camera? Therefore, he had something to do with the recording of the video. And if he did record the video, where did he store it?

More questions remain as this scandal doesn’t seem to want to die down.

An ounce of ‘Man Caves’ is a pound of revenge by Kris Humphries to Send Kim Kardashian a Not-So-Subtle Message

I am still unsure on who is to blame between the 72-day failed marriage between Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian.  But from the looks of it, Kris Humphries is no saint.  I have been watching Kim & Kourtney Take New York and every time Kris Humphries is on the scene, he’s been nothing but a jerk to Kim Kardashian.

I am no Kim fan but the girl has been very sweet to this man.  At least, from the the cameras are telling me.  Yet, every time he opens his mouth – it’s a put-down against Kim.  Have you heard any of his rantings on the show?  Unbelievable.

I lost all my faith in love until last week…. and now THIS. (VIDEO)

When you’ve lost all faith that true love exists, something comes up to let you know that it does.

After attending my very first gay wedding ceremony last week in Chicago, I felt a reason to reduce my doubts about true love. I lost all faith because of many reasons. Many reasons that I equated to people who are together not because of reasons of love but other things. Many things that happened to me in my personal life that I created a wall so that I won’t continue to fool myself that one day, I will find true love. To me, true love doesn’t exist.

But the wedding last weekend (which photos I still have to share after permission from the couple) hit a soft spot in my heart. People can really still fall in love with utmost sincerity. When they recited their vows, I was taken aback. They really meant it.

And now, after being bored at home (from surgery, I am forced to stay home for a week), I found this video on Towleroad, a blog I regularly read… and I realized – - it can still happen.

A nice Christmas gift to all Filipinos: A Visayan may soon be proclaimed a saint. Pedro Calungsod.

A decree had been proclaimed by the current Pope Benedict XVI that a miracle may be attributed to an existing Filipino Martyr, Blessed Pedro Calungsod.  A step closer to declaring him a saint.

The late Pope John Paul II declared Pedro a martyr back in 2000.

According to Sun Star,

“Yesterday (Tuesday), the Pope promulgated that there was a miracle, there was divine intervention or that a divine sign or something supernatural that would indeed confirm that Calungsod is a saint, that he is in heaven,” Leyson said.

Leyson, the postulator for the cause of canonization of Blessed Pedro Calungsod, said the next step after the promulgation of the decree would be the votation among the cardinals.

“All the cardinals would be sent a copy of the biography of Blessed Pedro Calungsod. (A letter) informing them there is a Blessed to be canonized by the Pope,” he said.

He added that after the cardinals have been informed formally and say whether they agree or are “of one mind”, then the Vatican Secretary of State will assign the date of actual proclamation of the canonization.

Cardinal Vidal said after the announcement of the decree by Vatican, the letters are most likely already being sent to all cardinals. But he has not received any kind of correspondence yet.

The Vatican News Service announced on Monday evening that aside from Calungsod, Filipino lay catechist and martyr (1654-1672), there are six other candidates for canonization.

These are: Italian priest Blessed Giovanni Battista Piamarta, French martyr and Jesuit priest Blessed Jacques Berthieu, Spanish foundress of the Conceptionist Missionary Sisters of Teaching Blessed Maria del Carmen and American Blessed Maria Anna Cope, nee Barbara, German religious of the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis.

He would be our second Filipino saint, following our very first – St. Lorenzo Ruiz of Manila.

Seriously? Professor Santana: NYU Fired Me For Giving James Franco A ‘D’

Alright, we understand favors from Universities or other institutions for that matter if there are benefits one can get from the other.  Like a great and famous rugby player for a university may have his grades overlooked if he’s bringing in something into the university (financial or otherwise) by being enrolled there.

Well, James Franco as we all know is a student at NYU taking his masters in Fine Arts.    One professor is now claiming that he was fired from the NYU becuase he gave the “127 hours” a “D”.

José Angel Santana said he slapped the “127 Hours’’ star with the bad grade because he missed 12 of his 14 “Directing the Actor II” classes while pursuing a master’s in fine arts.

Santana said he then suffered all kinds of drama — first from Franco, who publicly ridiculed him, then from his department, which axed him over the “D.”

Well, I would say that the professor is overacting if James Franco missed a couple of classes.  But 12 out of 14???  Come on.  I would give him a D too!  One rule in college is that if you attend all your classes, regardless of how poor you do – - you will pass.  Otherwise?  Yeah, I’m with the professor on this one.
Let’s see how this plays out.

If I had a farm…

Small businesses are sprouting up everywhere these days. For the millions of people who were laid off during the global economic meltdown, most are still looking for jobs. The ones who have given up looking for jobs and were in a position to open up their small business did so. Some were successful, and some weren’t. But that should not deter us from creating something that we believe would take us out of a bad situation.

I had always thought of owning a farm. Maybe “running a farm” is better. I love animals and just the thought of me getting up in the wee hours in the morning to feed the chickens or gather eggs seems fun. Imagine milking cows and really seeing how milk gets to our breakfast table. Those things make me wonder.

My grandmom had a piggery back home. I remember when she would raise the pigs and come time to sell them, these guys would come with a huge truck and they will purchase the pig from my grandmom by weight. Yes, they use weight as the basis for pricing the pig. But the weighing method they used looked a bit cruel to the pig. The would strap the pig with a harness and lift it up by use of a small crane. You can hear the pig scream from miles away.

Technology is always there to thank for creating better methods and process for us to become better. Have you seen the new livestock scale available today? They are what my grandmom should have had access to during those days. The pig could easily be put on the scale standing up and voila! Weight is measured. No loud screams, no uncomfortable position for the pig. I wish it was that easy back then.

But hey, that’s what technology is for. We have to think of better ways to do things. And yes, if I do get to own a farm someday – - I will let you all know. :)

One thing you would never want to yell out: “My computer crashed!”

Have you ever had a computer crash on you only to lose all the important files and data you’ve stored through the years? We’re always taught to back up our data from the start. When we learned how to use a computer, the number one thing we were taught was to make sure we back up our data.

No one really learns. They still don’t back up their data, continue to store their data in CDs or DVDs, and go on their merry way. But if you work on a lot of spreadsheets and documents at work, you will learn fast on how important it is to keep saving your data. If you lose the data on something that you’ve worked on for hours or weeks, you will pretty much kick yourself in the behind. That’s why many software makers incorporated auto-save in their programs. Still, it doesn’t work well if you’re computer crashes on you.

Here’s the latest trend now. You can now store all your valuable data, photos, files in what you may think of as a safe deposit box at the bank. Yes, it is totally outside of your personal computer and you can keep your files there safely and have access to it whenever you need them. For a small fee, you can have limited space but for an additional small fee – you can have unlimited space where you can store your most important files and data without having to worry if you will accidentally lose them or not. But like everything else, don’t just go with the first one you find. There are lots of different services out there and different prices. If you are smart, you would choose the best one with medium price, and yet have been reviewed greatly by people who have already used them. Don’t go with the self-promotions that companies do – - follow the trail, visit sites that offer online backup reviews and read the comments people have about these companies that offer the service. The reviews could be helpful in assisting you with your decision.

Sometimes, it’s harder to make a decision without speaking to someone who have had experience with the product you are trying to purchase. It really helps to hear the reviews from the people who have the actual experience with the service in order to decide well.

If you have files or data cluttering your home computer or laptop, maybe it’s time to think about cloud-computing. Store it in the cloud – the safe deposit box for your important files, data and photos. You’ll thank me one day.

#gaynews – Gays have families too! Gay Dads Get Told They’re Going to be Grandpas. (VIDEO) MUST WATCH!

Congratulations!!
