TV5 starts airing in US through tie-up with DISH Network. GMA7 and TV5 merger likely to happen in November.

This is TV5’s chance to showcase its shows internationally.  TV5 signed a deal with Dish Network, a satellite network in the US known for delivering GMA 7 as well.

Filipino communities who have longed for watching TV5 shows may finally get their wish.  TV5 is now the home of the biggest stars in the Philippine Entertainment industry, including Megastar Sharon Cuneta.

“TV5 International got another boost with this partnership with DISH. It signifies our continuing commitment to give Pinoy audiences the best entertainment and public service programming, wherever they may be in the world,” said Claro Ramirez, president and CEO of PGN.

As a Pinoy fan, are you going to subscribe to Dish Network just so you can avail of TV5 shows?  This would mean, you would have to switch from your current cable company and have a dish satellite installed in order to see TV5 shows.

TFC and GMA are offered via Comcast (Xfinity) which does not require a satellite dish installation.

Let’s see where these network wars will take us…
