Yay! How the world is changing… The Newly Crowned Miss USA Supports Transgendered Contestants in Beauty Pageants

There is a big shift going on around the globe regarding LGBT rights. It’s well-known now that even politicians recognize this.

Remember that big fuzz over allowing transgendered contestant to Miss Universe-Canada, Jenna Talackova? She eventually placed in the top 12 but didn’t win the chance to compete for Miss Universe.

Crowned Miss USA, 20-year old Olivia Culpo from Rhode Island snagged the crown by answering a tough question with grace and tact.

The winning question was posed by a Twitter viewer and it went like this:

Q: “Would you feel it would be fair that a transgender woman wins the Miss USA title over a natural-born woman?”

A: “I do think that that would be fair, but I can understand that people would be a little apprehensive to take that road because there is a tradition of natural-born women,” Culpo said, according to the AP. “But today where there are so many surgeries and so many people out there who have a need to change for a happier life, I do accept that because I believe it’s a free country.”

Winner!!! Tolerance is key! That’s how you win contests…
