I don’t deny that Maricel Soriano is one of the greatest actresses of our time. She is brilliant and of course,a multi-awarded actress.
Every time there is a comeback planned for her, she seems to screw it up. That’s putting it lightly.
There are rumors that the actress suffers from depression (and worse – drug addiction) but no one really knows. She was involved in a controversy when her maids accused her of cocking a gun and threatening them. Immediately after the incident, the actress left the country probably in an effort to let the issue cool down. The issue was resolved behind closed doors.
Now, with a team-up with today’s hottest leading man, Gerald Anderson of ABS-CBN in “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin“, you would think that it’s going to be something that would bring excitement to her fan base. Maricel is the Diamond Star.
But the report published by PEP.ph about an incident during taping between Maricel Sorian and Gerald Anderson is troubling. Apparently, Maricel started yelling at Gerald and accused Gerald of causing delays to the taping because of “bad acting”. Whoah!! I’ve seen Gerald Anderson act and he is a good actor. Although not in the caliber of Coco Martin, Gerald can act.
When Maricel allegedly walked off the set, Gerald followed her (to apologize) but received the same “screaming” treatment that caused the actor to go into a corner and cry.
Who wouldn’t? Don’t you think that it’s embarrassing enough to be yelled at in front of other people, let alone by Maricel Soriano and then be humiliated once again even after trying to apologize?
Here’s the kicker though. According to sources, it wasn’t really Gerald who caused the delay but Maricel herself. Ouch!
“Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin” will push through, but Maricel has been taken off the role. She will be replaced by Dawn Zulueta.
ABS-CBN issued a statement stating the following:
“Due to the unfortunate incident between Gerald Anderson and Maricel Soriano on the first taping day of ‘Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin,’ ABS-CBN management and the management of Maricel Soriano have agreed that Maricel will no longer be part of the cast. The teleserye starring Gerald Anderson will proceed as scheduled.”
Also starring in that TV series are Dina Bonnevie, Cristine Reyes, Rayver Cruz, Diana Zubiri and Ton Ton Gutierrez.
