I was saddened when I heard the news today about two bombs exploding at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, killing 2 people and injuring 19 more.
I recently signed up for the Philadelphia Rock and Roll 1/2 Marathon as a test to my endurance after I quit smoking eight weeks ago. I was all excited about the very first half marathon that I was going to run until this happened.
What kind of a world do we live in today? Bombs exploding right in front of our doorsteps now?
I feel sorry for the two people who died and the injured people. Let’s hope they find the people responsible for this and give them the punishment they deserve.
In the meantime, I’m not going to let those people stop me from running my first half marathon. We are resilient. We will rise from this tragic event.
