Jenna Huhn and the History of Golf

Jenna Huhn grew up playing golf with her parents and still enjoys hitting the links for a lively round with friends in the Washington, D.C., area. Although golf is generally considered to be a product of Scottish ingenuity, some evidence suggests that this sport was first played in a primitive form in China during the period between 937 A.D. and 975 A.D. The first record of golf in Scotland is found in an edict forbidding the sport: James II felt it was an unwanted distraction from military duties. Today, golf continues to be a delightful distraction from the duties of the everyday working world.
