My family is going camping this weekend. When I say “my family”, they are really not blood relatives. They are close friends that I have here where I live who have become my family since I am always with them, dinners, parties, weddings, brunches, breakfast, clubbing, and anything else that we do.
We have an annual camping trip in upstate New York. I have been there a couple of times with them and it was really fun. The camping that they do does not require outhouses to go to the bathroom though. They have legit bathrooms and showers and the campground has a pool as well. What kind of camping is that right? It’s a fun camping trip. You go there to spend time with friends and have fun. There’s a show at night and you can bring alcohol.
The only reason why I am not going this year is because of the full load that I am carrying. I go to school taking credit classes (expecting to graduate in the Spring of 2015), full time job, house work, and all the activities in between. We were at a wedding last weekend in Lancaster, PA and the week before that, some of my friends and I were in Montreal, Canada.
I haven’t been home for a full weekend in almost a month. So, I thought I’d stay put this weekend and clean my damn house.
But, I saw a preview of Running Wild with Bear Grylls with Zac Efron as his guest and then Channing Tatum. Two hunks that I would watch on television just because I am a huge fan of Nicholas Sparks. Ha! Not really. I just really wanna see them shirtless. LOL!
So, on www.nbc.com, they have the full episodes of the show and I got to watch Channing Tatum and Zac Efron take on the wild jungle and do all sorts of crazy things from eating worms or snakes and propelling from cliffs and crossing mountains using nothing but a rope.
I saw Zac try to salvage a dead animal for food. He almost threw up (or maybe he did, just not on cam) but carried on like a trooper.
If you haven’t seen the show, I think you’re gonna love it. I will be watching Ben Stiller and Tamron Hall next. I think it’s pretty fun. When you go with Bear Grylls, you just do it. There’s no hesitation, there’s no turning back.
What’s touching to me was when Zac opened up about his personal life while they were camping in a cave. It was pretty awesome to hear how he fought addiction and got help through rehab and he tells us how and what got him to that place of darkness. It was pretty amazing stuff.
If you haven’t seen it yet, you may just want to start with this one. The episode with High School Musical star and an amazing actor, Zac Efron.
