As much as I don’t enjoy the cold and freezing weather when winter comes, I do enjoy the Fall season. I love the changing color of the leaves and the smell of firewood burning when it gets really cold at night. It is probably one of my favorite seasons and here we are, approaching it as we speak.
I am saddened each time summer ends. To tell you the truth, summer went by so quickly for me this year, quicker than any other year. Maybe because I am in school or maybe I am just doing too much at the same time. I don’t know.
It’s time to tune up the central heater again just to make sure that when Old Man Winter gets here, I am in good hands. I have not experienced having no heat on a cold winter’s night (knock on wood) and I would not want to. I have lived a long time in my house and naturally some of the appliances go after the usual wear and tear. My heating unit has been very good to me though. It was the original unit that was placed when the house was built back in 1982.
In the same way during the summer, you wouldn’t want to be without air conditioning on a very hot summer day. So it’s a must to have your units checked each season just to prevent a major disaster. I can imagine how difficult it would be already for east coast people dealing with no air conditioning in the summer months, but I can’t imagine those who live in Las Vegas or Arizona. Summers there must be gruesome without air conditioning. That is why when air conditioners fail, you must know how to search for a company that fixes the unit and fixes them well. An easy Google search with your location and some keywords like ac repair glendale az could give you a lot of results. You just have to pick the right one.
Now that the cold weather is slowly upon us, it’s time to enjoy pumpkin spice lattes, and Halloween parties. Yes! It’s Halloween next month! Soon after that will be Thanksgiving and so is Christmas If I think about the time in terms of holidays, I would go by this life so quickly that I wouldn’t even be able to enjoy it. That is probably why I take my days one step at a time. Although, we do have a big Halloween ball to attend to which is kind of exciting. Halloween falls on a Friday this year. That, somehow brings the partying mood to a much higher level.
I was thinking of what I should do during my spare time during the winter. I haven’t read a good book in so long. Maybe I should pick up another book other than 50 Shades of Grey. LOL! I actually picked up a book from Amazon today – it’s The Alchemist by Paolo Coelho. I waw his interview with Oprah Winfrey today (yes, I still record Oprah shows on OWN) and the way they talked about the book just drew me to buy it. The story somehow relates to a spiritual journey in discovering our potential and making a run for it. Has anyone read the book yet? And if you want to know what’s even cooler, I got Audible with my kindle book purchase so I can actually listen to it when I don’t have the energy to read it. How fun is that?
So, how is everybody preparing for Fall? What do people do to prepare for Fall I wonder? I know some of you folks take out your boxes and boxes of sweaters and jackets from the attic and have them air out or get them dry-cleaned. I don’t do that because I’m too lazy to store them in the first place . I keep my sweaters in my closet and they stay there all through Spring and Summer. I will have the same problem if I stored them in the attic. I would be too lazy to take them out when Fall comes. Ha!
Can you tell me what you are planning to read this winter? Does anyone here belong to a book club?
Anyway – – I hope you all are having a great weekend.
