TV Ratings (June 30): “Ako Si Kim Samsoon” takes a big bite in the ratings game

The newest addition in the Telebabad block of GMA-7, Ako Si Kim Samsoon, premiered last night (June 30) with a respectable 33.8 percent rating; which is good enough to take the third spot in the overall race.

Ako Si Kim Samsoon, topbilled by Regine Velasquez and Mark Anthony Fernandez, replaced the heavy drama Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita. The Pinoy version of this hit Koreanovela went head-to-head with another Koreanovela turned into Pinoy series, ABS-CBN’s My Girl. The Kim Chiu-Gerald Anderson starrer posted a rating of 22.6 percent to take the No. 8 position.

“Kambyo” speeds off starting July 9

Digital Viva is releasing its third gay-themed movie this July 9, ang pelikulang Kambyo.

After releasing two critically acclaimed gay-themed movies, director Jay Altarejos and writer Lex Bonife shift gears for a fun romp road trip movie titled Kambyo na ipapalabas sa University of the Philippines Film Center on July 5. Ang kanilang mga naunang pelikula ay ang Ang Lalaki sa Parola at Ang Lihim Ni Antonio (na siyang invited na mag-compete sa New York Gay and Lesbian Film Festival).

Daring ang role na ginaganapan ni Joross Gamboa sa Eva Fonda. Ngayon nga lang daw niya ginawa ang torrid kissing scene nila ng co-star na si Hazel Mendoza.

Coverboy Marvin Raymundo wins “Mr. Personality” special award in Manhunt International 2008

Hindi man gaanong nabalita, binigyang-karangalan ni Marvin Raymundo ang bansa nang mapabilang siya sa Top 15 at manalo ng special award na Mr. Personality sa Manhunt International 2008 na ginanap sa Seoul, South Korea. Miyembro si Marvin ng all-hunk group na Coverboys.

Ikinuwento niya ang maganda niyang experience sa paligsahan ng pinakamakikisig na lalaki sa buong mundo.

“Nag-join ako sa Manhunt International sa Seoul, South Korea last May 28 hanggang June 3. Bale, 50 countries ang kasali roon and I represent the Philippines. Luckily naman, napasok ako sa Top 15, I also got a special award, ito ngang Mr. Personality.”

Dingdong Dantes cannot be as daring as Wendell Ramos in Bench fashion show

Kung maingay na pinag-uusapan ang proyektong ginagawa nina KC Concepcion at Richard Gutierrez para sa Star Cinema, may bulung-bulungan naman tungkol sa pelikulang pagtatambalan nina Dingdong Dantes at Marian Rivera sa GMA Films.

Sa presscon ng Gran Matador Brandy, na ini-endorse ni Dingdong, noong June 13 ay may balita na malapit na raw silang magsimula ni Marian ng frist team-up nila sa big screen.

“Hindi ko alam,” sabi ni Dingdong. “Actually, ayoko munang pag-usapan ito dahil nagkaroon dati ng playdate, e. So until meron talagang specific, siguradong mangyayari at nag-shoot na kami, parang ayoko munang pangunahan. Pero siyempre, everything is possible. Baka puwedeng before that, may iba pa. Hindi ko alam.”

Dingdong Dantes prepares for Bench’s annual fashion event

Next month na ang much-talked about yearly event na Bench Fever fashion show sa Araneta Coliseum. Kahit napakalaki na ng iginanda ng katawan ng young actor na si Dingdong Dantes, more than one month pa rin daw ang gagawin niyang preparation para sa espesyal na gabi ng mga Bench celebrity endorsers.

Ayon kay Dingdong, starting this Monday, June 9, ang paghahanda niya para rito.

“More than a month din siguro ang itatatagal until yung mismong fashion show na nga. Ayoko kasi ng drastic, yung mabilisan. Dati kasi, nahirapan ako dun. So, gusto ko ngayon yung medyo relax pa ako, hindi masyadong pressured. ‘Tapos, may biyahe pa kami ng Amerika sa July, before the fashion show. So para maka-relax naman ako ng konti,” lahad ni Dingdong nang makausap siya ng PEP.

Baron Geisler ordered by DOJ to face acts of lasciviousness complaint

Embattled Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition ex-housemate Baron Geisler has been asked by the Department of Justice (DOJ) to answer the acts of lasciviousness complaint filed against him by the daughter of actors William Martinez and Yayo Aguila.

This transpired after the DOJ issued a subpoena against the young actor, asking him to show up on May 23 at 10:30 a.m. for the preliminary investigation. Prosecutor Amanda Felipe prepared the DOJ order according to dzBB.
