Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid still wish to have a baby of their own

As 2008 entered, many predictions for showbiz personalities, and most especially showbiz couples, were prophesized. And one of them will be the pregnancy of Asia’s Songbird Regine Velazquez courtesy of boyfriend Ogie Alcasid.

“Hay!” a shocked Regine said.

“Talaga? Parang kinilig ako,” an amused Ogie added.

Regine admitted in a taped StarTalk interview shown last January 5 that she’s hoping that they will have a baby this year.

“Sana. It will be a blessing if that would happen. You know, right now, we have so many things to settle pa. So, siguro huwag munang mataon doon. Kapag na-settle na namin ang lahat, especially yung sa part niya, and then it’s ok,” Regine said, referring to the legal hurdles of having Ogie’s marriage to Michelle Van Eimeren annulled.

Ogie added, “Tulad nga ng sinabi ng darling ko. Ano ‘yan, dapat sa tamang panahon. But, alam mo, ‘yan ay kung ibibigay ng Panginoon, tatanggapin natin ‘yon.”

During the taping of SiS, the morning talk show where couple guested, Regine did not hide her tears when asked about her relationship with Ogie.

“Lagi naman akong umiiyak basta yun yung pinag-uusapan. Because as you all know it’s not a very easy decision to make, ” she said.

Ogie gave his comment, “Actually, alam niyo, si Regine, hindi talaga iyakin ‘yan. Kaya lang, meron mga… Ako ang iyakin talaga. At kapag nakikita ko ‘yon, parang gusto ko siyang yakapin. Kasi bigla siyang nagsasalita ng madami. Kung anu-ano na yung sinasabi niya, niloloob niya kasi hindi siya ganoon.”

The couple has now grown comfortable with each other. The two spent their Christmas in Australia last December together with Ogie’s ex-wife, Michelle Van Eimeren, and their two children, Leila and Sarah. It was a far cry from a year ago when the two were trying to hide their romantic relationship. It was only in the June 2007 issue of YES! magazine that they were able to reveal about the real score between themselves.

Regine said, “Actually kasi, okay naman talaga kami kahit noon pa. Kaya lang, we couldn’t tell you guys because of course we were…

“…eh hindi pa kasi ako umaamin,” Ogie said as he tried to complete the sentence for Regine.

“Hindi pa kami ready pareho. Both sides naman ‘yon because we were trying to protect each other. Kasi siyempre, hindi naman namin alam kung paano tanggap ng tao,” Regine said.

Both are looking forward to the projects and their movie team-up this year.

“Siyempre, marami kaming plans individually. Like me, I’m hoping to do two films. Pero we’re definitely doing a movie together. And then, siyempre may mga offers naming din abroad. So medyo mahirap, sige na rin. Trabaho pa rin ‘yon. Blessing pa rin ‘yon,” Regine said as she looks ahead to 2008.
