The recent controversies surrounding Kris Aquino’s attitude on the set of The Buzz and the confirmed allegations from Ruffa Gutierrez that Kris Aquino has repeatedly shamed her in the past during the show may be something that is causing a little more than Kris would like it to be.
Of course, being a controversial character always adds to the intrigue and popularity of a show – - – and that is all well and good, unless your brother is running for the highest office in the land. Noynoy Aquino is the leading candidate for the upcoming elections in May of 2010. As you can see on the sidebar, the poll gives Ninoy a 49% rating.

Will Lindsay Lohan’s $100 M lawsuit against E-Trade stand?
Woohoo!
She’s been out of the limelight for a while. No projects except probably appearances here and there. It’s time to bust a move. She must be thinking, “Let’s get me back on the headlines. Let’s slap E-Trade a $100 million dollar lawsuit to get some attention. I know I’m going to lose anyway but hey, what the heck. Publicity – good or bad is still publicity right?”
That was Lindsay Lohan (hypothetically!) with her million dollar lawsuit against E-Trade due to the commercial that aired during the Superbowl about baby stock investors using the name Lindsay referring to the character of a “milkaholic” baby.
NBC today was already criticizing the lawsuit saying it will probably be thrown out because it has no fire. There are over ninety-eight thousand people named Lindsay and Lindsay (the Lohan) cannot use it as ground to file a lawsuit. People were saying that if her name was something like Madonna or Oprah – - probably since there aren’t many Madonnas or Oprahs out there… but Lindsay?

See! I knew I was right about the Kris Aquino and Ruffa Gutierrez Issue
Ha! See, that’s what I thought. Ruffa Gutierrez didn’t feel that way just because of what Kris Aquino said on the show when The Buzz aired on Sunday. It was because of pent-up emotions regarding “condescending remarks” the Kris Aquino has made through the years towards Ruffa.
Let’s not jump into their situation as if we know what they both feel and understand that even in the deepest of friendships, things like this happen. And sometimes, friends have to air out their frustrations against each other and just like any relationship, it has to grow. Without things like these – their friendship wouldn’t grow.
We can see from both Kris Aquino’s statement and Ruffa’s statement (below), that they have the respect for each other. There are times when a person (in this case, Kris) is unaware of what the other person (Ruffa) is feeling and unless it surfaces (just like what happened on Sunday when Ruffa became emotional), Kris wouldn’t even know that Ruffa has felt that way for years!

“I am reluctant to make a statement regarding the incident last Sunday to avoid being accused of ‘gumigimik’ but since I feel the need to defend myself, lest I be judged unfairly, and ayoko na pong palakihin ito so I will say my piece (sic).
“First of all I hold Tito Boy and Kris in such high regard as professional mentors and personal friends.
“Secondly, I wasn’t reacting to just the video clip shown wherein Kris remarked ‘Ruffa, aminin mo, ibang level ang saya dito.’ Hindi naman po ako mababaw at pikon na tao.
“I always conduct myself as a professional to let a supposedly small matter such as this bother me.
“That being said, the reason why I reacted that way, seemingly OA or not, is because aside from being understandably emotional that Sunday (it was my last 2 episodes as co-host of The Buzz), the series of condescending remarks noticed by viewers through the years which I’ve constantly brushed off in the spirit of ‘pakikisama’ also took a toll on me.
“I invite you to view replays of past episodes online and you’ll understand exactly where I’m coming from. Off-camera, sometimes Kris acknowledges my presence and other times (like that Sunday, March 7) she would not.
“To clarify, I did not ‘walk out.’ After what I thought was a commercial break, I felt tears were starting to well up. I went back to my dressing room to compose myself. But the tears wouldn’t stop.
“Third, my mom [Annabelle Rama] has nothing personal against Senator Noynoy and the Aquino family. She never attacked the good Senator’s character. She just expressed what she was feeling at that moment. Just like you and I, my mom has her own perspective and we should respect that. After all, we do live in a democracy.
“Lastly, in the spirit of unity and our long tenure on the Buzz I appreciate and accept Kris’ public apology. I will always remember my 3 yrs on the Buzz with great fondness. I will miss everyone dearly.
“To Miss Kris Aquino’s family, loved ones and fans worldwide, I would also like to apologize kung nasaktan ang damdamin niyo. Misunderstandings happen among the closest of friends. Ang importante po, nagkakaintindihan na kami.
“To Senator Noynoy Aquino, in behalf of my mom and the entire Gutierrez family, we sincerely apologize kung nasali po kayo sa isang babaeng usapin.
“Being the gentleman that you are, you will most probably just brush this off and laugh at our crazy showbiz life. Let us put this episode to rest so you can focus on your campaign and everyone else can peacefully go back to work.
