International singing sensation Billy Crawford ang isa sa featured centerfolds ng Cosmopolitan magazine sa Cosmomen issue ngayon. In fairness kay Billy, unlike other featured celebrities sa centerfolds, dumating at rumampa siya sa stage at nag-perform pa.

Yun nga lang, kung inaasahan ng mga kababaihan, and even gays, na magta-topless man lang si Billy, it didn’t happen. Balot na balot ito ng damit. Bukod sa suot niyang shirt ay may vest pa siya.

Toni Gonzaga defends Billy Crawford on bad reviews of his stint as co-host in “PDA”

Araw-araw ay nagsu-shoot si Toni Gonzaga para sa Pinoy Dream Academy season 2 primetime airing. Halatang proud din siya sa mga scholars ngayon sa PDA. Plus factor din sa enthusiasm ni Toni sa show ang fact na kasama na nila si Billy Crawford as host ng show.

Billy Crawford wows Pinoy audience at the Big Dome

Billy Crawford couldn’t have been more correct when he compared the Filipino audience to a dormant volcano just waiting to explode.

“They’re very passive. Pero kung talagang hilig nila they’re support you. Hanggang patayan na sila and ‘yon ang hindi mo makikita anywhere else,” said Billy to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last September 20, during the presscon thrown by GMA-7 days before the concert.

WARMING UP. Working his way to warm up the crowd, the Filipino international singer-performer finally got the “party” vibe he wanted midway in his concert last October 6 at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.

“We are supposed to be having a party here,” said Billy while catching his breath in the early goings of the show. While Billy along with his backup band and dancers were all pumped up, the crowd appeared to be more starstruck and would rather watch than groove their bodies to the high energy beats.

The crowd loosened up when Billy and guest Kris Lawrence did a Craig David number, “So Sick”, instantly generating a reaction from the audience situated at the right wing of the coliseum.

Smelling the momentum, Billy upped the ante and launched into a medley of Earth, Wind and Fire classics. By the moment Billy shifted gears to “September”, everyone in the audience were up on their feet, dancing and singing along.

“So, that what it takes…” an elated Billy told the crowd, who were now cheering and screaming their lungs out for more.

Taking the cue and making sure not to slow down, the band hit on the familiar notes of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean”. The Big Dome erupted into total pandemonium as Billy, clad in a slick white suit with matching hat to boot, successfully mirrored Michael Jackson’s astonishing dance moves while stage fireworks rained down on the young performer.

By the time the exhilarating number was through, Billy looked up and started throwing kisses—obviously thanking God for finally achieving the kind of crowd reaction he longed for.

TURNING EMOTIONAL. There was no letting up since then, as Billy went through all his numbers with the crowd up on their feet dancing and clapping their hands in unison.

Billy capped the evening by performing his international hit song, “Bright Lights”, which was met with loud cheers from everyone in the audience.

Returning for an encore, Billy turned emotional as he thanked all the people who took time out to see him perform.

Despite performing and gaining adulation in other parts of the globe, Billy has always been vocal in saying that performing in front of his countrymen had always been his dream.

Aside from thanking his father—who became emotional since it was the first time in a very long time that he got to see his son perform on stage—the young performer also thanked his That’s Entertainment mentor, German Moreno, whom he considers as his second dad.

Billy closed the curtains with a slow number titled, “Bye”, while relishing the applause and admiration of the audience.

Billy Crawford misses talking to KC Concecpion

“I knew KC for such a long time and mahal na mahal ko si Tita Sharon [Cuneta, KC’s mother]. I will not do anything to hurt their family,” says Billy Crawford about KC Concepcion.

Nakarating na sa Pinoy international singer na si Billy Crawford ang pagtanggap ni KC Concepcion ng kanyang apology dahil sa biro niya na “good kisser” ang anak ng Megastar sa radio program ni DJ Mo Twister. Nahihiya nga raw si Billy kung bakit kailangan madamay ang pangalan ni KC sa promo ng kanyang concert na It’s Time sa October 6 sa Araneta Coliseum.

Idiniin ni Billy na wala siyang intension na isama si KC sa anumang interviews niya. Pero marami pa rin daw kasing nagtatanong sa kanya about her kaya nagiging accommodating lang daw siya.

“Ayoko kasing may magtampo or magalit sa akin. Mahirap kalaban ang media,” sabi ni Billy sa presscon ng kanyang concert. “So I try to answer their questions about KC in a gentleman manner. Pero minsan, we can’t really control other people. They will write what they want at iba na ang magiging meaning. I am very much aware of that.

“But it’s a good thing that KC understood me at alam niyang wala akong masamang intension. I knew KC for such a long time and mahal na mahal ko si Tita Sharon [Cuneta, KC’s mother]. I will not do anything to hurt their family.”

Hanggang ngayon pala ay hindi pa nagkakausap sina Billy at KC kahit na nandito na sa bansa ang anak ng Megastar. Hindi raw kasi alam ng binata ang bagong cell number ni KC.

“I think nagbago na siya ng number,” sabi ni Billy. “Kung yung old number pa niya ang active, natawagan ko na siya agad. Pero siguro hindi pa kami talaga pinagtatagpo for now. I know na she’s busy and I’m busy as well. Siguro magkakaroon ng time na bigla na lang kami magkikita or magkakasalubong. Maliit lang naman ang mundo, e.”

Kung sakaling aksidenteng magkita sila ni KC sa isang lugar, ang una raw itatanong ni Billy ay kung kumusta na ang pamilya nito at magpapakuwento raw siya tungkol sa pag-aaral nito sa Paris.

“Siguro hanggang doon muna. Na-miss ko rin kasi ang Paris noong mag-base ako sa US. So siguro puwede niya akong i-update. Kuwentuhan lang siguro kami ni KC because I also missed talking to her. Maganda kung mag-uusap kami in French para kaming dalawa lang ang magkakaintindihan if ever may mga tao sa paligid namin,” lahad pa ng dating child star.

Pagkatapos ng concert ni Billy ay lilipad siya kaagad patungong U.S. para asikasuhin ang ilan niyang naiwang mga trabaho. Kaya hindi totoo ang balitang wala na siyang career sa ibang bansa dahil sunud-sunod daw ang schedules para sa kanya para mag-shows sa iba’t ibang lugar. Naging priority lang daw niya ang pag-stage ng concert dito sa Pilipinas dahil matagal na raw niyang dream ito na ngayon ay matutupad na.

Dahil nga sa naging sunud-sunod na schedules niya sa U.S., hindi na niya magagawa ang pelikula that would have starred him with Whoopi Goldberg. Nanghihinayang nga si Billy, pero mas uunahin daw niya ang recording ng kanyang bagong album na siya ang magpo-produce sa U.S.

Bukod sa mga special guests ni Billy sa kanyang concert na sina Jay-R, Karylle, at Kris Lawrence, ipinagmamalaki rin ni Billy ang Movers, ang mga winners ng reality dance show niya na Move. Sila ay sina Aizel Moneva, Jobel Dayrit, Daniel Agbisit, AJ Sarate, Darcy Godoy, Mich Garong, and JM Vergara.
