TCCS – The Chuva Chienes Show 15 – Be Our Guest. @Chuva touches on life and helping others…
I had a very scary encounter with fate today. I was in a car accident and my life almost flashed before my eyes. Thinking about it all, I realized once again that life is too short and that in everything we do, day-after-day, we should really try our best to live our lives as if it is our last.
Listen to what I have to say….

TCCS – The Chuva Chienes Show 14 – Be Our Guest. Twitter friend @hamviloria and @Chuva discuss Ms. Shamcey Supsup – The Delayed Reaction…
Hello folks! Sorry for the delayed publication of this podcast. I was going to publish it in time for Ms. Shamcey Supsup’s homecoming to Manila after taking 3rd runner up at the Miss Universe Pageant 2011 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. However, with work and all the things going on in my life right now, I wasn’t able to do so. Editing a podcast takes a bit of time and this is the only time I was able to lock myself in a room and do the editing.
Sorry for the delayed reaction but I thought that it was still a good conversation to have so I am publishing it even though the news is already stale.
I hope you’ll enjoy listening to the conversation as well….

Why is that? What gives unity to Filipinos all over the world? What is it in our culture that unites us? Listen to Chuva and Ham as they discuss why this is the case. Our podcast today is dedicated to all Filipinos around the world.

TCCS – The Chuva Chienes Show 7 – Be Our Guest. Podcast redemption for Ham Viloria Part 1
The Chuva Chienes Show is getting a lot of feedback now from listeners. Our guest for tonight, for the second time on TCCS, Fabulous and Professional Hairdresser, Ham Viloria.
It’s our way to try and save the last podcast filled with technical difficulties on both ends. Nagkaloko-loko ang connection namin and Ham, a perfectionist, wanted to redeem himself by asking for another guesting at TCCS.
Since ang bait bait (super bait) ni Chuva, we welcomed another phone call from Ham Viloria. The conversation turned out really well that it took us a whole hour to finish our conversation. That is why we are splitting the podcast into two segments. This is part one, just so that listeners won’t get bored. Huwag sana kayong magsawa.
Listen in and please do provide your feedback at the comment section below, para naman alam kong may listeners kami… hahaha!!

TCCS – The Chuva Chienes Show TCCS Podcast 5 – The Technical Difficulties of Ham Viloria – Ha!
At long last! From the beginning of the podcast to the end, I have had nothing but technical difficulties with this one.
It started as a simple podcast arrangement with one of my Twitter friends who would like to call in to TCCS – The Chuva Chienes Show – and discuss whatever subject matter that would come up. We set up a date and a time where he can call me only to find out that the technology that was supposed to help us make things easier, made things worse.
@hamviloria is a Twitter acquaintance who’s heard about The Chuva Chienes Show from our circle of friends on Twitter. He was quick to volunteer to call in and speak to yours truly, Chuva Chienes. I promptly agreed and the call was set.
Namputcha… when the time came, we were met with one problem after problem. First, the computer he was supposed to use to call me on Skype was out of order. We tried another way by using his blackberry, downloading the Skype app while he called me on my iPhone which already had the app. All was saved right? Not really.
Listen to the podcast and you will understand what I mean.
It wasn’t all that bad. It turned out really well in the end and I was pleasantly surprised to hear @hamviloria’s voice for the very first time. Pramis, ka-boses niya si Bryanboy. Haha! But we had a fun time talking and he is a pleasure to talk to. I really wish we had more time.
Makinig na!

Philadelphia Half Marathon – September 19, 2010 – a missed opportunity
Well, well, well. I haven’t made a personal post in Chuva-knows-when! I thought I’d post an entry this time to keep you updated with what’s going on with Chuva Chienes.
The weather has been great this past week and my life has never been busier. I went to a birthday party (Speak or Flip’s – whichever you prefer) on Saturday and instead of leaving early to prepare for the event to support a friend of mine on his half marathon run in Philadelphia, I ended up staying until the end. It was about 2:30 a.m. when the party ended. I was bloated as hell dahil sa dami ng pagkain. I tasted the best Bicol Express ever and feasted on crabs, pancit, menudo, lechon, fried chicken, bar-b-qued pork chops. I didn’t even have the chance to taste the meatballs! Arrggh. I was so full that by the end of the night, I was having heartburn like crazy.
On top of that, I was sipping JD all night. Thanks to Toby who got me drinking that crap. I was fine while I was at the party and only realized how much I drank when I got home. It was not a great feeling.
The next morning, I had promised to attend the Philadelphia Half Marathon run and support my friend Tasha. The run was to occur between 8:00 and 10:30 a.m. How the heck was I supposed to wake up early and get to the city by that time?
Well, I did. It was not pleasant but I managed to drive to Philadelphia. I had to pick Joey up to accompany me because he is more familiar with the roads in the city than I was.
I kept getting calls from Tasha giving me his location and how far he’s ran. By 8:45 he said he already was at the 5 mile mark. I was worried that I won’t make it in time to see him finish. We got there at around 9:30 a.m. I figured, if Tasha was going to finish by 10:30 a.m., we have plenty of time.
While waiting – - here’s what I noticed:

A cute shirtless guy was stretching across the street from us.

In an instant I knew. Leche! Puro guwapong lalaki pala ang nandon.

I was wondering why marami ng dumadaan na may medal. Hmmm.. Did we miss Tasha’s run?

Ganon! Ipakita raw ang six-pack abs sa amin.

Why didn’t I think of joining the marathon before?! Nandito pala lahat ng guwapo!! Hehe!

We got a call from Tasha saying he’s about 900 yards from the finish line and that we should proceed to the finish line. Takbo naman kaming dalawa ni Joey.

Ang daming runners. There were are reported 18,500 participants. Imagine that? We waited at the finish line for about half an hour. No Tasha. And no Joyce either. There was no cell phone signal at the finish line so I couldn’t tell if Tasha is still running or if he’s finished the race already.
MAY NAG-TEXT!
Tasha: We’re done. We’re here under the Nigerian flag on Ben Franklin Parkway.
SHIT! We missed it!!!!

May medals na yung dalawa!! They completed the race and we missed them. So, to make up for it, nag-pictorial na lang kami.

Re-enactment kuno! Hahaha!

Winner ang mga lola!

Yan si Joyce! Ang super-skinny mowdel! Haha! She did well finishing 13.1 miles in a little over 2 hours. Say!

Here we are on the way to the car to go for dim sum at China Town.

Before that, may nakita kaming mga guwapo. Notice the guy in the gray tank top. Nakadamit pa di ba? He must have noticed I was taking photos… tingnan ninyo ang next photos..

Nakatingin siya sa ken while I was taking the photos…

O say! Biglang nag-alis ng shirt!! Hahahaha!

At lumapit pa sa amin! He revealed this gorgeous body with perfectly toned abs!! eight-pack yata!! Shet!

All-in-all, it was a great day! We finished up with dimsum and coffee at Starbucks.
It was fun and I felt so envious of the people who participated because they actually accomplished something. I saw an older man there who must have been in his 60s already .. finishing the race.
So, I vowed that I will join the next run. God-willing!
So mga chika… it’s time for me to start training…soooooo..

Response to Dear Chuva: Letter Number Four from “Soon-to-be Fairy Tale Villain”
Good evening ghels and gays… and those who are in between. Hahaha! I am responding to our fourth letter-sender, “Soon-to-be Fairy Tale Villain” who sent us a letter asking for our readers’ help in sorting out her issue. Medyo borderline mistress and infidelity ang topic naten. It seems to be the hot item for the year. Look at Tiger Woods, Kris Aquino, John Edwards, Manny Pacquiao. These celebrities and politicians are headline news these days. At baket? Because of one thing and one thing only. It all relates to infidelity.
Clue number one:
i guess every girl wants to be the princess in their own fairy tale, but what if you’re thrown in a situation wherein you find yourself to be the wicked step mother or the evil step sister – sort of the villain you love to hate in every fairy tale story you have read?
Okay. She gave me a hint that she’s a girl.
Clue number two:
galing ako sa isang relationship with a girl at nun naghiwalay kami eh naging malungkot ako…
Bingo na tayo. Byaning siya! Hmmm…
Anyway, she is asking for advice dahil nakakilala ulit siya ng bagong gurl. And they enjoy spending time together, holding hands, chorva-chorva (press release: wala pa raw nangyayari… asus!) Now that they have known each other for a while, Soon-to-be is falling in love with her new friend.
So what, di ba? Why can’t she fall in love. Everyone is entitled to loving another. Same sex, opposite sex, sex toy, or middle sex… it’s all the same. We can fall in love. Her problem is…. the girl she’s falling in love with is already attached. Attached = may ka-relasyon na. Attached = hands off. Attached = she’s already taken. Gets?
How did I know that? Because she said:
and it is against my rule to hang out, worse to fall for someone who is soooo taken already and very much in a relationship.
She wants to pursue whatever she’s feeling because of these reasons:
nami-miss ko po sya pag di ko nakakausap or nakakatext, at masaya ako pag magkasama kaming dalawa… anu ba ang dapat kong gawin? my mind tells me to STOP, but my heart tells me another thing…
Okay, so we know three things.
- She’s a lesbian
- She’s falling in love with a girl
- The girl is already in a relationship
The part that is missing is: Nasaan ang jowawitz ng gurl? Does she know the girl’s girlfriend? Where is the girlfriend when they are hanging out together? Is she with them? May kulang pero sasagutin ko na rin.
Here’s my response:
Dear “Soon-to-be Fairy Tale Villain”,
I understand exactly where you are coming from. I have been there, done that. There could be many factors why you are falling in love and I don’t know all the details but these are possible scenarios.
Maybe you are looking for a rebound. Someone to attach yourself you dahil naghiwalay kayo ng ex-girlfriend mo.
Or, maybe you are simply lonely. Nalulungkot, naghahanap ng kausap, kasama or even just someone to talk to.
In any case, here’s my advice. Masanay ka na dahil seryoso ‘to.
I have always given this advice to people because I think it’s the best way to tell them not to go forward with something that they know is wrong. Believe me, I don’t judge. That’s not my job. My job here is to tell you that with every action that we do in our lives, there is a reaction. You can call it karma, you can call it universe, you can even call in God. That is up to you. But it is all the same.
Read the Bible, the Koran, Buddha-Darma… you will see the same message.
Christianity : “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.” Matthew 7:12
Buddhism: “Hurt not others in ways that you yourself would find hurtful.” Udana-Varga 5:18
Confucianism: “Try your best to treat others as you would wish to be treated yourself, and you will find that this is the shortest way to benevolence.” Mencius VII.A.4
Yoruba (Nigeria): “One going to take a pointed stick to pinch a baby bird should first try it on himself to feel how it hurts.”
Islam: “None of you [truly] believes until he wishes for his brother what he wishes for himself.” Number 13 of Imam “Al-Nawawi’s Forty Hadiths.”
You get the point. And believe me when I tell you this, if your “action is good” – the “reaction is better”. And if your “action is bad” – the “reaction is worse”.
I am not going into the details to tell you na kapag ginawa mo ‘to, kung ano anong mga sakuna ang mangyayari. Again, that’s not my job. My job here is to help you decide kung ano ang gagawin mo. The rules of the world provided above gives you as to what the universe, God, or karma expects you to do. And when you don’t follow, the reaction will teach you the lesson.
Why do I believe that? Because I have been through it. And that is what I’m trying to avoid for your sake.
Like I’ve said to many people. What we do unto others swings like a pendulum…. it swings out, but it always (and definitely) swings back. Fairy Tale Villain, that means if you throw love, you will get love… and if you throw something else, you will get something else. Think about it.
Good luck with your decision.
Dear Chuva: Letter Number Four from “Soon-to-be Fairy Tale Villain”
It’s been quite some time (2 years to be exact!) since we published a letter from our “Dear Chuva” pile. I have gotten away with it because other priorities have taken over my life. But this time, I would like to bring back our segment that explores people’s inner feelings and see if I can ask our readers to chime in with an advice on what they think our letter-sender should do.
The letter arrived late last night and while reading it, I realized that this is very timely because the “Butse Gang” believes that 2010 will be MISTRESS YEAR. As in, walang pakialamanan! Hahaha! The letter seems to imply that our letter-sender, “Soon-to-be Fairy Tale Villain” is about to enter a prohibited relationship by any standard and I want to share the letter with all of you and seek your advice. Keep reading…
What d’ay tell y’all? Jersey Shore is latest pop culture
I mean, I have loved MTV’s Real World even from the very first time it aired. It’s a “voyeuristic” kind of high, watching people live their lives (and a lot of hyped-up drama to go with it) so that I could probably say that my life ain’t all that bad.
The latest MTV contribution to this “voyeuristic desire” is “Jersey Shore”. It’s really the trashiest reality TV show and people are actually watching it! They are glued to their television sets every time a new episode is aired. Mike “The Situation”, Pauly D, Snookie, and JWoow… can you just imagine? With those nicknames alone, what could be more entertaining?
I guess being from Jersey myself, I can laugh at it more. It’s the magnification of the stereo type… and funny as hell!
Do you want to know what your Jersey Shore nickname is? My Jersey Shore nickname is “The Tight End” – - -HA! HA! HA!

You all must remember JOSHKO right? Well, kinalimutan ko na siya di ba? And I even traveled several thousand miles para makita ko yung taong may naramdaman ako. JOSHKO found his way out and moved to California. Ako naman, natulungang makalimutan si JOSH ng taong nakilala ko through my blog.
Things work so funny sometimes. Funny in a way that it all works for good. First, I never thought I would fall in love with someone whom I haven’t met in person. But it happened. Yes. Yet, distance for me is a very big issue. I cannot have a relationship with someone so far away. Kaya, to make the long story short – friends na lang kami ng blog lover ko. We still text each other now and then. Kamustahan and all.
Tonight, as I was coming home to walk Jake – I saw someone walked past the house. For a minute there, I thought it was JOSH. I got excited for some reason. I was in a hurry so I looked back just to make sure.. it wasn’t JOSH. My heart sank. I don’t know why and I don’t wanna know why.
Finally, when I settled down – I sent him a text message just to say hi. I told him to see the movie “Hangover” because it was a hilarious film. He told me, “Yeah, I would if only I can afford a movie ticket.” You see, he just got a job and still trying to settle in California. You all know how it is when you’re starting up. It’s quite difficult. So I tried to encourage him, telling him that everything’s going to be okay.
Then he told me that he broke up with his girlfriend. I felt even worse. She was supposed to visit him but never did. Apparently, something happened there but I didn’t want to ask.
I simply said to him not to worry because his life is ahead of him. He’s young, has a very good potential for being successful and that if he really gets lonely, he can always come back to the east coast. I also told him to enjoy Cali while he’s there and that if he wants to come back, we will welcome him back. Then he replied, “Thank you, I miss you!”
Wow!!! Naloka na naman ako. Anovey? Kala ko ba tapos na ‘tong kabanatang ‘to. Did he have to say that? So I said to him, “When you come home and I see you – is it okay if I give you a big hug?”
He responded, “I wouldn’t expect anything less!”
“Pahingi nga ng brush!!! Susuklayin ko lang yung buhok ko – - ANG HABA ‘DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Response to Dear Chuva: Letter Number Three from “Walang True Love”

Okay mga ghels and gheys, heto po ulit si Ate Chuva (Thanks for the brand Tuliro) at sasagutin ang mga katanungan ni Walang True Love. Hindi naman talaga ako jaded masyado, I still believe in love kahit papano.
We have three teams. Team Walang True Love, Team True Love, Team Pariwara.
Achus!!
Dear Chuva: Letter Number Three from “Walang True Love”
Kabords!!!!!!! I have searched the depths of my heart for the answer and I am composing my answer for “Walang True Love” right now pero nag-ba-blackout ang isip ko. Siguro manhid na rin ako pero I do have hope. There is always hope yet the problem I’m facing is – tama bang umasa?
Let’s help these group of friends who are faced with a plaguing question. Read on kabords!!
Oh by the way, Normand – since you’ve been waiting for this letter – mag-buena mano ka kaya sa comments? I want to hear your opinion.
Dear Ate Chuva,
Pardon me if I call you Ate. It seems to fit while writing this letter to you. As comforting as writing Ate Helen or Kuya Eddie. I write to get your opinion on a subject that has eluded my friends and I. We can’t seem to agree whether true love exists or not. We have been friends most of our lives and each one of us hold a story very dear to us. We draw our conclusions from our experiences and sometimes we can’t even agree to disagree to keep the peace among us. We are very close as we treat each other like family. We are in our early thirties. I will give you a brief story about my friends and I, then I will tell you their stance when it comes to true love. Does it exist? Yes or No.
Another Dear Chuva Letter Coming Up!
Well folks, I guess I can’t stop it from coming now. Wait for my next post. It is definitely different from the letters I’ve received so far. It’s a letter about True Love and as jaded as I am, it will be interesting how I would respond to this letter.
Have you been in love? Do you think that True Love exists? It is somewhere out there waiting for you or is it something that you have to look for?
Abangan ang ating Dear Chuva entry – - in the coming days.
Maloloka kayo!
Dear Chuva: Letter Number Two from Saudiborsyado – Part II

Medyo mahaba kasi yung sulat niya kaya naisipan kong hatiin… heto ang continuation…from Dear Chuva: Letter Number Two from Saudiborsyado
Dear Chuva: Letter Number Two from Saudiborsyado
Dear Ate Chuva,
I hope that my email reaches you well at sana po ay mapili ‘nyo na mapublish ang letter ko. I am a 27 year old male living and working in Riyadh. Lagi po naming binabasa yung blog ninyo. I have lived here for four years and the life here is very challenging. Gusto ko lang naman pong maiangat sila sa buhay and I am willing to sacrifice for them.
I am simply here to work and send money home for our future. I did a two-year contract the first time I was here and returned for two more.
Response to “Tuliro” – on Dear Chuva
I will be frank and uncensored – walang personalan.
Dear Tuliro,
Maraming salamat sa pagsulat mo. I really appreciate the trust that you’ve given me and that you opened up so freely out of your own will. It gives other people the chance to share their thoughts and feelings about your situation. I hope it will enable you to sort out the responses of our readers and my response as well.
Dear Chuva: Letter Number One from Tuliro

A pre-entry to our “Dear Chuva” post…
I received this story by email and I was just deeply moved by it. It may have been circulating around the world for sometime now but it was the very first time I have seen it. I wanted to post it as our pre-entry to the “Dear Chuva” section – - our first letter to be printed soon…
An incredible love story has come out of China recently and managed to touch the world.
It is a story of a man and an older woman who ran off to live and love each other in peace for over half a century.
The 70-year-old Chinese man who hand-carved over 6,000 stairs up a mountain for his 80-year-old wife has passed away in the cave which has been the couple’s home for the last 50 years.
Over 50 years ago, Liu Guojiang a 19 year-old boy, fell in love with a 29 year-old widowed mother named Xu Chaoqin..

Our readers are invited to “Dear Chuva” section of this blog.
Ayan, dear readers. Marami kasing nag-e-mail sa ‘ken telling me their personal stories. Natutuwa naman ako kasi they vent and they feel better daw after chatting with me online. Kabog diba?
Thanks to all the readers who have flocked here for chizmiz and chorvaley. Now, it’s time for you to share your thoughts, your feelings at kung ano mang sikreto ang dinadamdam ninyo.
I am away at the beach right now.. naghahanap ng boyfriend.. kaya cho-chorvahin ko yung Dear Chuva when I get back home tomorrow.
I invite all of you to share with me. Walang personalan…. LOL.
