Fans of Jessica Sanchez were wondering if the third song that was sung by the last two finalists on American Idol Season 11 had to be original or not. This came about when someone tweeted a video of the song that was sung by Phillip Phillips, entitled HOME where the finalists actually received a standing ovation from the judges.
Who was supposed to pick their last song? Was it theirs? Did it have to be originally written for the show? Could Jessica Sanchez have picked a better song than
The song was composed by Alan Pearson and Greg Holden and was performed by Greg Holden on the video that was posted.

Pinoys are tough. This video hit the web showing how Pinoys stand against Friendly foreigners who tried to eat a Filipino delicacy called “balut”. Do you want to know what it is? If you think you’re tough, you have got to try eating one of these.

A balut is a fertilized duck embryo that’s boiled alive and eaten in the shell. Popularly believed to be an aphrodisiac and considered a high-protein, hearty snack, balut are mostly sold by street vendors in the regions where they are available. They are common, everyday food in countries in Southeast Asia, such as Laos, Cambodia (pong tea khon in Cambodian) and Vietnam (tr?ng v?t l?n or h?t v?t l?n in Vietnamese). They are often served with beer.

A school bus driver in Seattle became unconscious while driving. Surveillance video captures the quick action a 7th grader did to keep the bus in control and take it to a complete stop without any injuries to all the passengers. Pretty amazing for a quick-thinking 7th grader. Give him a medal please!!!

Gay Men’s Chorus Washington, D.C. does Lady Gaga’s Born This Way
This video may be late in coming because it’s way past Christmas. The video is Washington DC’s Gay Men’s Chorus Winter Party Concert. They were pretty good and probably, since the It Gets Better video created by Colton James Boettcher using Lady Gaga’s song, HAIR received a great accolade from Gaga herself and made the video viral, it may just do it for this video too.
I have to say that the Christmas songs were pretty good but singing Born This Way in a chorus didn’t do it for me. It’s probably the dancing boys in the front that distracted or attracted me. I am not sure yet…

Kudos to Barnes and Noble for pulling out a homophobic calendar from their online stores after hearing much from patrons who disagreed with the sale of such a stereotypical and bigoted calendar created by Joe King entitled “I’m Not Gay, I’m Just A Sissy; 12 Months of Sexual Confusion.” However, Amazon is still selling the calendar and had said that it still requires more complaints from customers before they pull out the calendar.
So, let’s tell Amazon.com that selling and carrying such a material is offensive to our community and we MUST tell Amazon to cease selling this calendar.

I lost all my faith in love until last week…. and now THIS. (VIDEO)
When you’ve lost all faith that true love exists, something comes up to let you know that it does.
After attending my very first gay wedding ceremony last week in Chicago, I felt a reason to reduce my doubts about true love. I lost all faith because of many reasons. Many reasons that I equated to people who are together not because of reasons of love but other things. Many things that happened to me in my personal life that I created a wall so that I won’t continue to fool myself that one day, I will find true love. To me, true love doesn’t exist.
But the wedding last weekend (which photos I still have to share after permission from the couple) hit a soft spot in my heart. People can really still fall in love with utmost sincerity. When they recited their vows, I was taken aback. They really meant it.
And now, after being bored at home (from surgery, I am forced to stay home for a week), I found this video on Towleroad, a blog I regularly read… and I realized – - it can still happen.

A nice Christmas gift to all Filipinos: A Visayan may soon be proclaimed a saint. Pedro Calungsod.
A decree had been proclaimed by the current Pope Benedict XVI that a miracle may be attributed to an existing Filipino Martyr, Blessed Pedro Calungsod. A step closer to declaring him a saint.
The late Pope John Paul II declared Pedro a martyr back in 2000.
According to Sun Star,
“Yesterday (Tuesday), the Pope promulgated that there was a miracle, there was divine intervention or that a divine sign or something supernatural that would indeed confirm that Calungsod is a saint, that he is in heaven,” Leyson said.
Leyson, the postulator for the cause of canonization of Blessed Pedro Calungsod, said the next step after the promulgation of the decree would be the votation among the cardinals.
“All the cardinals would be sent a copy of the biography of Blessed Pedro Calungsod. (A letter) informing them there is a Blessed to be canonized by the Pope,” he said.
He added that after the cardinals have been informed formally and say whether they agree or are “of one mind”, then the Vatican Secretary of State will assign the date of actual proclamation of the canonization.
Cardinal Vidal said after the announcement of the decree by Vatican, the letters are most likely already being sent to all cardinals. But he has not received any kind of correspondence yet.
The Vatican News Service announced on Monday evening that aside from Calungsod, Filipino lay catechist and martyr (1654-1672), there are six other candidates for canonization.
These are: Italian priest Blessed Giovanni Battista Piamarta, French martyr and Jesuit priest Blessed Jacques Berthieu, Spanish foundress of the Conceptionist Missionary Sisters of Teaching Blessed Maria del Carmen and American Blessed Maria Anna Cope, nee Barbara, German religious of the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis.
He would be our second Filipino saint, following our very first – St. Lorenzo Ruiz of Manila.

Gay YouTube Soldier Reveals Himself, Comes Out to Dad: ( VIDEO )
He did it!! Gay Youtube Soldier that I saw on Towleroad blog and have been following with them has finally revealed his face. He promised that after DADT is repealed, he will reveal who he is and he kept that promise.
The added bonus here was the call that he made to his dad to come out to him. It was the most touching part of the video.
What was so pleasant about this video is how his dad reacted and told him that … what the heck, watch the vid! The video has already received 1.7 million views at the time of this writing.
And here’s another thing.. he’s cute!!! I’m sure he’s got a fan base asking him for a date right about now. I am one of them! Ha!

Have Fun this Summer with 9 Works Theatrical’s ‘STAGE CAMP’
This coming summer, 9 Works Theatrical, one of the country’s leading theater companies and makers of RENT, Songs For a New World, The Wedding Singer, and RENT 2011, in cooperation with The Rockwell Club, launches Stage Camp, an intensive summer theater workshop where anyone from kids, teens, and adults can learn how to sing, dance, and act.
Running for a total of six weeks at The Loft @ Manansala Tower, Rockwell Center, Makati with a break during Holy Week, Stage Camp is the perfect avenue for anyone to unleash his or her rock star potential in performing, make new friends, and have insanely good fun in the process.
Classes will begin on April 11, with each class having a culminating showcase at the end of a six-week workshop and rehearsal period on either May 28 or 29. Get this! I love Subway and I love McDonald’s too. But in ways of eating healthier, I would choose Subway over McDonald’s.
McDonald’s used to be the largest resto chain until last year when Subway had 33,749 restaurants as opposed to McDonald’s 32,737.
In terms of revenue however, McDonald’s is still king with a reported 24 billion dollar revenue last year as opposed to 15.2 billion for Subway. But that is still a great feat!
How did Subway achieve its great success in the restaurant chain market?
Subway has achieved its rapid growth, in part, by opening outlets in non-traditional locations such as an automobile showroom in California, an appliance store in Brazil, a ferry terminal in Seattle, a riverboat in Germany, a zoo in Taiwan, a Goodwill store in South Carolina, a high school in Detroit and a church in Buffalo, New York.

I’ve said in my post about the predictions of Punxsutawney Phil and that ever since I came to the US, the world-famous rodent had always seen his shadow. It’s pretty much expected year-after-year. So, I was very pessimistic this year as well.
But this time, after 98 consecutive times that he’s seen his shadow, Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow!! Really? Since 1887, there has been only 15 times that the rodent did not see his shadow and predicted an early spring.
Well, I wouldn’t know how that feels because I have not been around in the last 15 times that he predicted an early spring. I’m excited today just because I experienced it in my lifetime.

Another snow storm is about to hit the East Coast. Don’t get me wrong – I like snow and I like cold weather, but this is getting on my last nerve. We know that spring is around the corner and it just seems like these storms are making us want spring to come even sooner.
We had a blizzard right after Christmas, then another storm hit in early January. The weather has been freezing cold during the last week that walking my dog felt like a chore. And now this.

For 72 minutes of eerie totality, an amber light will play across the snows of North America, throwing landscapes into an unusual state of ruddy shadow.
The eclipse begins on Tuesday morning, Dec. 21st, at 1:33 am EST (Monday, Dec. 20th, at 10:33 pm PST). At that time, Earth’s shadow will appear as a dark-red bite at the edge of the lunar disk. It takes about an hour for the “bite” to expand and swallow the entire Moon. Totality commences at 02:41 am EST (11:41 pm PST) and lasts for 72 minutes.

Saudi prince found guilty of murdering aide facing life in prison (VIDEO)

Justice was served when Prince Saud Abdulaziz bin Nasser al Saud of Saudi Arabia was found guilty of grievous assault and murder of Bandar Abdulaziz.
The prince is due to be sentenced on Wednesday. The relationship between the two weren’t clear but it is believed that they had a gay sexual relationship.
Allegedly, the prince enjoyed the company of male escorts and a “thing for erotic massages”.

I was just talking with my co-worker who has this great idea in his mind and trying to find his way to patenting the idea and creating a prototype of the product. He pitched the idea to me and I thought, hmmm… there’s potential in it. I did advise him to check the patent website to make sure that it doesn’t already exist. Unfortunately, someone had already thought of it and has been patented since 2001. Shucks. Out of frustration, he went to the store to get a lottery ticket only to find out that the jackpot was hit. It’s like getting kicked in the balls while you’re down.

Northeast USA – Get ready for a Solar Tsunami Light Show to Strike Earth Tonight

Guys, I’m telling you – if you haven’t seen what I would call a natural light show , you might as well hang out tonight and see it.
According to NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory, there was a solar eruption that they witnessed and due to that eruption – we are poised to see geomagnetic storms that you wouldn’t want to miss.
It produces a “disturbance in the earth’s magnetosphere” that results in aurorae that would light up the sky.
Views of aurorae are usually associated with Canada and Alaska, but even skywatchers in the northern U.S. mainland are being told they can look toward the north Tuesday and Wednesday evenings for rippling “curtains” of green and red light.
I saw a meteor shower once and I was totally awed and amazed. I’m sure this is going to be much much more fascinating.

A viral video dubbed as the “Double Rainbow Guy” spread across the internet when Jimmy Kimmel tweeted something about it.
The guy is famous now and was even interviewed by the Jimmy himself on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
I have never heard of the video – and it looks like many have heard about it already since the Youtube View Count is almost 7 million views.
He (Double Rainbow Guy) swears that he wasn’t drunk when he filmed it (at least during that filming).
