Terrafugia – the first flying car! Awesome!! I want one!

When you get through that first flight, the possibilities are endless. Terrafugia recently received an FAA exemption to allow a pilot to fly one of these babies with only 20 hours flying time which is far less than the required minimum for regular pilots who fly planes.

This is an amazing sight – - to actually see a car transition into a plane and fly is beautiful.

Take a look at the video below:

Hello Mac, iPad, iPhone, iTouch lovers – - really cool cases for your toy.

I found out from Louis Vuitton Lover that iPad cases are available from Louis Vuitton in Monogram and Graphite.  I was so happy although I am not about to purchase an iPad. In fact, the cases have already sold out and won’t be available again until late August or early September.

I recently purchased a Macbook Pro and I am about to possess my very first iPhone when it is released on June 24th.

I’m at a conflict which iPhone case I would get.  Should I go for the monogram or graphite?  I think I’m going for the monogramouflage.

The World Cup (FIFA 2010) in South Africa is about to begin.

If I never had the chance to be assigned in Germany for work, or if I had never visited Brazil or Singapore, I wouldn’t know how the outside world  (besides America) viewed football (soccer).

While in Germany last year, I was able to witness the excitement generated by these games and how it makes you want to join in and take a piece of the fun they are having.  I actually bought an Adidas scarf for Team Germany when I was there just because I wanted to feel it and become a part of it.

This time, I was in Brazil and as you  may know - FIFA 2010 begins on Friday, June 11th for the opening ceremonies in South Africa.  South Africa was chosen as the host six years ago and the country has been preparing for this event since then.  Building five new stadiums and refurbishing the existing ones,  improving transportation I think South Africa is ready.

Believe me – when 2014 comes and Brazil hosts FIFA 2014 – - I will be there!!

We are going to Rio de Janeiro tomorrow. Can’t believe vacation is almost over.

Hello folks!  Brazil is such a great country!  We have met many many people from all walks of life here and to tell you the truth, they have opened my eyes to something more about life in general.

The Brazilians are happy, always smiling regardless of their financial situation.  They gather together, they share what they have with everyone else and that’s how simple life is.  Who am I to say that having nothing means not being happy?

Life is here to be celebrated and we celebrated it with family, with friends and dear ones who are important to us.  Enough about killing ourselves working so much and neglect the simple things in life.  Life’s simplest pleasures are the smiles around us – the honesty of friendship and the loyalty of family.

Porto Alegre was a gem to behold.  It was a great experience being there and I am very certain that I will be going back there sometime in the future.

I just read today about Rue Mclanahan’s passing and I am saddened by it.  I also learned of Gary Coleman’s death as well.  That just made me think more about life in general.

Life is short no matter how long you live…. so … LIVE.

In approximately 10 hours – - I will be surrounded with these…

Okay – stop guessing already!  You know where I’m headed.  It’s time to have some R&R and forget about work.

Relaxing at the beach, shooting the shit and just thinking about one thing…. NOTHING!

That’s what vacations are all about and I’m taking one!

Don’t be jealous – - most of them are my friends… LOL!

See you on my next post!

Counting the days – - Business Trip and Vacation…

Guess where I am going?

Jollibee on Glee – The Perfect Product Placement

Every Filipino knows Jollibee. It’s the most well-known fast food chain in the Philippines. Started as an Ice Cream Parlor back in 1975, Jollibee has become the symbol of Filipino entrepreneurship and success. With chains in several countries like Hong Kong, Brunei, and the US – Jollibee is very popular among Filipinos overseas.

Its recent opening on the East Coast drew large crowds (Jollibee had stores for a while on the West Coast but took a while to open up chain stores on the East) and has been very successful in the New York / New Jersey area. Sometimes, Filipinos will drive for hours just to taste that Chicken Joy again or the Jollibee Spaghetti.

Bravo’s ‘Make Me A Super Model’ Ronnie Kroell First Playgirl Shots Released

You are probably asking why someone with his looks and Make Me A Supermodel‘s Ronie Kroell will pose for Playgirl right? I read that he is a Political Science grad and has a very good future somewhere else. What could it be? Money? He could earn that by being a model.. or an actor..

Guess what? The first photos have been released and let me tell you.. they look good.

I have nothing against nudity but guys who have other options to make money should make it without having to take off their clothes unless they really want to.

Make Me A Supermodel’s Ronnie Kroell prepares to bare it all for Playgirl

Washington Blade reports that Make Me A Supermodel‘s  Ronnie Kroell is going to go all bare for Playgirl for their June Edition. I thought Playgirl shutdown their print version?  After Levi Johnston, I guess Playgirl found it profitable again to only release the printed edition when someone like Levi or Ronnie goes for it.  It’s a good marketing concept if you ask me. Here’s what Ronnie Kroell had to say in an interview with Washington Blade:

Blade: “Equus” is a great segue to the next question — can we talk about your appearance in the upcoming Playgirl? What led you to bare it all for Playgirl? Kroell: [Laughs] Well, it’s kind of a funny story. We received an e-mail out of the blue from the Playgirl camp basically feeling me out to see if I would be interested in doing a Playgirl pictorial. At the time, upon initial contact, it wasn’t really something I saw myself doing. It took me about three months to get to ‘yes’ as a decision. I’m really happy and it was really a fun experience for me because Playgirl immediately saw upon meeting me the artistic vision that I had and what I really wanted to do. The Playgirl people allowed me to share creative control in the process, which allowed me to bring in a high-fashion photographer, and a full fashion team. So on May 15 on Playgirl.com the first 15-20 photos will be released then the actual print edition will come out June 15. It was quite a fun time, we shot at the Grace Hotel in New York City and it was all high fashion. There are a lot of surprises and I feel it will take Playgirl to a whole new level.

LP still confident of a Noynoy Aquino – Mar Roxas win

The Liberal Party does not want to call the vice-presidential poll over. In fact, LP campaign manager Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan is calling Jejomar Binay‘s victory announcement premature.

Get some tissue, this is heartbreaking…saddest video ever.

I couldn’t help myself while watching the video below. It was a heartbreaking scene of a male cat trying to revive his female companion after she was hit by a car. After trying hard to revive his partner and failing, the male cat lies by the side of the lifeless female cat until the vets came and took the body away.

This is real and it happened in Turkey’s Kizilsaray Distict of Antalya. This is what true love is and how true love should be.

I’m teary eyed right now.. excuse me…

Noah’s Ark believed to be in Turkey – Found?

Explorers are claiming that they have found Noah’s Ark that they believe was the vessel that saved humanity and a pair of every  living creature during the deluge that was chronicled in the bible.

Many Christians believe that Noah’s Ark rests somewhere in Turkey but many have already claimed that they have found the ark yet proved to be false.

This time, the Christian explorers are 99.9% sure that they have found the ark stating that compartments are buried at 13,000 feet above sea level made of wood were sitting somewhere near the peak of Mt. Ararat in Turkey.  The wood found dates 4000 plus years back which they say would match the proper timeline that proves this really is the one.  They have kept the exact location of the find in secret for now until they are ready to declare it.

Could this be the one?  What do you think?

Philippine elections coming up? Never celebrate too early.

Hey Ho!! The Philippine Elections is so close that everyone is probably thinking that their candidate has bagged the Presidency. Don’t be too quick. Things can happen at the last minute and you just never know. We have to be vigilant in making sure that fraud has no room in this election. For those who would like to see Noynoy Aquino bag the Presidency, make sure that you vote. It is not over until it’s over.

If you look at the video below, the Croatian team celebrated a little too early and did not pay attention to the running clock. The Serbians got one over them and won the game. This was similar to the run that Hillary Clinton did. Everyone thought she had the Presidency, until Barack Obama came into the picture. Who would have thought?

Careful folks! It’s our country – - don’t let it slip away.

Gay teen joins Archie Cast – - Comics with gays now? Awesome!

I grew up reading comics. One of my favorite is Archie. I would really have liked it if there was a character then with whom I would have been able to identify with. Like a gay teen for example.

Well folks, wait no more. There’s already a lot of waves being created about the gay teen named Kevin arriving in Veronica’s life in the comic book. The website who initially posted the story received a lot of negative comments from people who disagree that their children should be exposed to the “homosexual agenda”.

Come on – - whether they like it or not, gays will be a part of their child’s life regardless where they take or hide them. We are everywhere… ;)

The Next iPhone Lost and Leaked?

Apple’s security about new products are so tight, no one has penetrated it. The launch of new products are always anticipated with lots of new technology surprises that wows the audience in delight. I believe that it really isn’t what Apple is selling that makes them, it’s how they market their products.

Would you believe that a prototype of the new iPhone was left at a stool in a bar. Ouch! According to Gizmodo the phone was found and it looks like a normal iPhone until you examine it. It has a camera but in trying to use it, it crashed. You want to see more photos of the Next Generation iPhone?

Hey – - head over to GIZMODO.COM now.

20 years of life shared but destroyed in the end.

Why I think President Barack Obama’s ordering all hospitals to grant visitation rights to same-sex couples is a great gesture, it’s because of stories like these that break my heart.

Imagine this.  You have lived 20 years together, all legal documents prepared (living will, powers-of-attorney, medical directives naming one to take care of the other) and yet ignored by hospitals and law makers simply because you are of the same sex.

20 years of life together. Destroyed.

Here’s the story:

Clay and his partner of 20 years, Harold, lived in California. Clay and Harold made diligent efforts to protect their legal rights, and had their legal paperwork in place—wills, powers of attorney, and medical directives, all naming each other. Harold was 88 years old and in frail medical condition, but still living at home with Clay, 77, who was in good health.

One evening, Harold fell down the front steps of their home and was taken to the hospital. Based on their medical directives alone, Clay should have been consulted in Harold’s care from the first moment. Tragically, county and health care workers instead refused to allow Clay to see Harold in the hospital. The county then ultimately went one step further by isolating the couple from each other, placing the men in separate nursing homes…

Shroud of Turin to be on display for first time after its 2002 restoration

One of the most intriguing and revered relic in the Christian world, the Shroud of Turin is believed to be the cloth that was used to wrap the lifeless body of Christ.

There were questions about its authenticity and although it is quite amazing that the man whose facial imprint on the shroud resembles much of what we believe Jesus Christ looked like, the Catholic Church says that “it’s an important tool regardless of its authenticity.”

Looking for a job? Guess what? UPS is hiring. 25,000 employees.

With an average salary of $74,000 USD, you can apply for a position as a UPS Driver. They have implemented a virtual training station in Washington, D.C. They are looking to replace the baby boomers who are retiring and plan on hiring 25,000 in the next five years.

Do you have what it takes? The gist is this. 30% of applicants fail the driver test alone. The Atlanta-based UPS currently employs 99,000 drivers and if you pass the tech-heavy training, you may be well on your way to a new career.

Could this be the start of the job market turn-around? Possibly. If a company like UPS is hiring – - there may be other jobs out there that are now opening up for the how many ever millions of unemployed individuals.

This could be the entrance to the hope tunnel. Let’s hope it continues.

Philly Pride Presents – Philadelphia 22nd Annual Pride Festival

I used to hate going to Pride Festivals.  It seemed too much for me to handle.  I have lived in Baltimore, New York, and Los Angeles which are great cities to hold Pride Festivals.

However, since I’ve lived in Pennsylvania and New jersey, I have met friends who actually made it fun for me to attend these events.

Just in case you’re wondering when this year’s Pride Festival would be held in Phildelphia, ( since it is getting warmer outside now ) – It will be held on June 13, 2010.

Chile Earthquake Altered Earth Axis, Shortened Day – Gives me less time to do my makeup.

Sheezawhiz!  Here we go.  Did you hear about the 8.8 magnitude earthquake that recently devastated the country of Chile and threatened a tsunami from the Pacific Ocean had shortened the day by 1.26 millionths of a second.  It’s not like you’re going to notice it but according to seismologists, the accuracy of measuring the length of day is approximately 20 millionths of a second so they really can’t measure the change and it won’t be permanent either.

This happens when “thrust-earthquakes” – such as the one experienced in Chile and the 9 magnitude earthquake in Sumatra back in 2004 – dives beneath an adjacent plate… or whatever that means.

If you don’t believe me – - read up on it at National Geographic… link below.

I can’t miss the Olympics anymore – - Live Streaming Video Available

In the past couple of weeks, I have heard nothing from my friends but news about the Olympics.  Even listening and watching my daily podcasts, there are no other news than Olympic medals, triumphs and glory.

When Joannie Rochette competed in the women’s figure skating competition (after her mother’s sudden death from a heart attack), I missed it.  She won a bronze medal for her performance.  For missing that, I was so bummed.  Those are the scenes that make the Olympics for me.  It’s about continued resilience regardless of the situation.

So, I searched online and found a way to watch the Olympics.  Wherever you are in the world, you may watch the 2010 Vancouver Olympics using your computer (Mac or Windows) by going to this site.

Never miss another event again.

Cheers!

Just for fun – view the video and post your results.

I am a member of one of the blogs in MyBlogLog and it seems that this video is always on my top 10 list being viewed by many people. I got curious one day and tried to find out what it was all about. It was actually an experiment about human perception. It’s called perceptual blindness. How we view things vary from one person to the next and we all know that.  What’s interesting about this experiment is that you get surprised about what you see and do not see when you watch the video.

Before you watch the video, please take note of these instructions and follow them strictly.

  1. While watching the following video, ignore the team in black – they are trying to confuse the situation. Count only the number of passes made by the team in white t-shirts.
  2. When you are done, click the back button to return to this page with the answers and follow up discussion.

Another Snow Storm? Come on…

I don’t know about y’all but the snow we’ve gotten on the east coast is more than enough. We’ve surpassed records after records of historical data and now, here comes another one. They are talking another 15 inches and seriously, I’m tired of it.

This just makes me look forward even more to my trip to Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo in the spring. Let’s just hope that the bad weather won’t follow me there. Arrgghhh.
