I remember the exact moment that the Challenger exploded. I was working at a 7-11 and didn’t know exactly that the Challenger had exploded during lift off. The somber faces of the people walking in the store can be felt so much that I had to ask one of the customers why. Then, when I was told that the Challenger had exploded, I couldn’t help but be somber as well.
It was a high-profile launch because of Christa McCauliffe – the first teacher who was to go into space. And when the news broke, the whole country was saddened. When I got home that night, CNN and all the news channels were playing the video over and over again showing the faces of the people who were watching the launch live and how they all reacted when it exploded. Children were there to watch the launch as well and all public schools were tuned into the television for school children to witness the event.

Another snow storm is about to hit the East Coast. Don’t get me wrong – I like snow and I like cold weather, but this is getting on my last nerve. We know that spring is around the corner and it just seems like these storms are making us want spring to come even sooner.
We had a blizzard right after Christmas, then another storm hit in early January. The weather has been freezing cold during the last week that walking my dog felt like a chore. And now this.
People are tired of it and if you watch the video below, you can tell – we just want spring to arrive!

Massive Cop and Firefighter Layoffs in Camden, NJ – - Unfortunate.
This is bad news. My neighbor is a Camden, NJ cop and I hope he’s now one of the cops being laid off. He actually told me just last week when I saw him at the gym that he just got engaged. Man, I really really hope he’s not one of the guys to be laid off.
Here’s the news I read today via CNN Money:
New York – There will be fewer cops patrolling the streets of Camden, N.J., come Tuesday.
Struggling to close a $26.5 million budget gap, the city with the second highest crime rate in the nation is laying off 163 police officers. That’s nearly 44% of the force.
And Camden will also lose 60 of its 215 firefighters. Some people with desk jobs will be demoted and reassigned to the streets.
Another ominous sign? 200 Dead Cows Found In Wisconsin
Many are now wondering what this new omen could be. 200 cows were found dead in Portage, Wisconsin and the owner of the farm said that a virus may have been the cause of the mass death.
Huffington Post reports that according to WSAW, widespread cases of pneumonia are very rare and may highly be unlikely but tests are being conducted to determine the cause.
Wait,did we ever find out the cause of the birds that fell to their deaths, the fishes that washed ashore in many locations including Maryland? How about the crabs in England? Red Tilapia worth 150 tons in Vietnam?
We only hear that tests are being conducted….did anybody hear about the findings?
Should we all be wondering what these mass animal deaths are about? Or should we just sit back and wait for the next occurrence?
Not out of the woods yet. 40,000 dead crabs washed up on Kent coastline as UK is latest country to be hit by bizarre animal deaths
Mirror News has added to the strange phenomenon occurring around the globe today.
More than 40,000 Devil crabs – also known as Velvet swimming crabs – were found strewn along beaches in Thanet along with dead starfish, lobsters, sponges and anemones.
Experts believe the crabs died from hypothermia after the UK’s coldest Deecember in 120 years.
All we are hearing from authorities or experts are speculations. No one has really come forward to explain these worldwide occurrences. They refer to it as “unexplained”.
What happened to the bird samples taken in Arkansas, Kentucky, and Sweden? Are “experts” looking at it? Could there be a global conspiracy going on?
What’s more interesting is that the search for a biblical reference to what is happening today has surged.
They are more than likely looking for the verse from Zephaniah, Chapter 1, Verse 3:
3 “I will sweep away both man and beast;
I will sweep away the birds in the sky
and the fish in the sea—
and the idols that cause the wicked to stumble.”
I am still waiting for a solid explanation from the said experts. I believe the people want a clear explanation as well.

Dead Birds Fall From Sky In Sweden, Millions Of Dead Fish Found In Maryland, Brazil, New Zealand – Is it 2012 yet?
When I saw the tweet from HuffPost this morning about dead birds falling from the sky in Sweden, I was stunned. What is this about now? So I read the article when I got in the office. It was more frightening than I had imagined.
Now, it has been reported that there were millions of dead fish found on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland, New Zealand and Brazil. 50 birds found dead in Sweden.
Is the end near? More dead birds fall from the sky in Louisiana (VIDEO)
Just within days after over 1,000 dead red-winged black birds were found in Arkansas, about 500 blackbirds and starlings have been found in Pointe Coupee, Louisiana.
What is going on??? Wouldn’t you want to start to believe that there is more to it than this? Could it be biological warfare testing being performed by the government as conspiracy theorists believe? Or is it simply a random event that happens all the time?

I was shocked when I got this from someone I was following on Twitter. I was curious so I clicked on his link and found that video below.
Many people awoke in Beebe, Arkansas on New Year’s Day finding dead birds all over the roads, rooftops and lawns. The dead birds are mostly red-winged blackbirds and no one has identified for sure what caused the birds to fall from the sky.

How horrific would it be to watch a video of a shooting on Youtube? Pretty horrific I would say and I wouldn’t want to watch it anyway.
But ranking top of Google Trends today is the video of the horrific School Board Shooting in Panama City, Florida. A distraught gunman known as 56-year old Clay Duke opened fire to a School Board that apparently fired his wife. He missed all 6 people and he was shot by the security guard and he later turned the gun to himself.
The video below does not depict the whole scene but shows part of the scene.
After long battle with cancer, Elizabeth Edwards dies.
This was still a shock even though the news yesterday about Elizabeth Edwards stopping treatment for cancer was all over the web. They had mentioned that there is nothing that doctors can do and that she was surrounded by John Edwards and her family at home. They did say as well that she was given weeks and not months to live.
When I read the headline of Elizabeth Edwards passing today, I was floored. I would have to say that we lost a courageous and graceful woman in Elizabeth. After all the cards that were dealt to her (John Edwards cheating on her, her dying from cancer), she remained as graceful and a strong advocate for mothers and wives alike. She never said anything bad about John Edwards and / or his mistress even at a time when she was hurting the most.
We take our hats off to you Elizabeth and may you rest in peace.
Uh-Oh – Someone’s in deep trouble: WikiLeaks Founder Julian Assange Wanted By Interpol
In one interview, Wikileaks Founder Julian Assange stated that he enjoys the feeling of exposing the truth. That is what drives him to do what he does.
Within days of his release of sensitive U.S. Diplomatic cables, Interpol has issued a notice earlier today listing Julian Assange as wanted for sex crimes. He was accused of sexually assaulting two women during one of his Wikileaks-related trip in Sweden. The “rape” charge was dropped but the assault charges were upheld. There is an arrest warrant out now to get him.
Julian has been in hiding moving from place-to-place and is staying below the radar for now. According to reports, he uses fake names and different identities in order not to be detected.
There are mixed reactions in the US about him. Some thinks he is a hero for exposing the truth and others think he has compromised the national security of the United States.

Missile Launch off the Coast of California? (VIDEO)

It’s a mystery. No one seems to know what this trail of smoke was that was captured remains “unexplained” on Tuesday. Earlier Tuesday, NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) and NORTHCOM (United States Northern Command) stated that there was no threat although Pentagon officials cannot confirm it for sure.
There may be an explanation to it according to New Scientist

It’s actually alarming that no one can confirm what it was. First, the White House Gate Crashers. Now, a mystery missile launch? What’s next?

GMA Weatherman Sam Champion Tweets that his father died.
Our deepest sympathies to Sam Champion. The Good Morning America weatherman tweeted that his father recently passed. It was the reason why his name, Sam Champion was on top of Google Trends this morning and not because of a rumor that he married his boyfriend Sean Bell.
He initially tweeted earlier this morning that he may be absent from the program all week due to a family emergency.
It was reported that Sam was at the hospital with his ailing father but Champion has since tweeted that his father passed away.
His father was Lt. Col. James H. Champion, a retired Marine Corps officer.
Saudi prince found guilty of murdering aide facing life in prison (VIDEO)

Justice was served when Prince Saud Abdulaziz bin Nasser al Saud of Saudi Arabia was found guilty of grievous assault and murder of Bandar Abdulaziz.
The prince is due to be sentenced on Wednesday. The relationship between the two weren’t clear but it is believed that they had a gay sexual relationship.
Allegedly, the prince enjoyed the company of male escorts and a “thing for erotic massages”.

Yonni Barrios, one of the 33 trapped miners rescued who has a mistress named Susana Valenzuela have been awarded a sum of money following their rescue. As reported by Latin American news, each miner was awarded five million pesos (amounts to approx $9,803 USD) by a millionaire businessman Leonardo Earkas. However, Susana Valenzuela and wife Marta Salinas had already discussed that the wife Marta will share the award rather than the mistress.
Susana Valenzuela became the most famous mistress in the world after her meeting with the rescued miner was broadcast around the world as millions of viewers watched the rescue.

The 33 trapped miners in Chile may be rescued as early as tonight. The drillers finally broke through Saturday led by the US Team. I am hoping together with the rest of the world that the rescue will end up successfully.
The length of the hole drilled is 2500 feet. Just imagining the length of that travel from the bottom up is scary. The drillers have reinforced 340 feet of it with a steel pipe and they are carefully testing the rescue over and over again to make sure that there is no chance of getting any miner stuck while in transit.

This evidence could present itself as an exhibit to those who believe that there is a “conspiracy theory” regarding the building’s collapse.

It’s good to never say never. Bishop Eddie Long cell phone photos released.
It’s been going on for a week now. Bishop Eddie Long, being accused by three of his male church members of allegedly coercing them into having sex with the pastor. The pastor has categorically denied the allegations but it continues to bubble up with controversies.
The pastor is know for preaching against homosexuality. He has transferred all responses to inquiries to his lawyers.
But photos of the pastor from his cell phone to the plaintiffs were released showing the pastor wearing muscle shirts and spandex shorts in his bathroom.
Nothing explicit with the photos and could not prove anything in court. However, maybe more things will surface.

Forbes Magazine ranked Facebook Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, thirty-fifth on the list of richest Americans with a net worth of $6.9 billion dollars. Apple’s Steve Jobs ranks forty-second on the list with an estimated net worth of $6.1 billion dollars.
I wonder how it feels like to be 26-years old and filthy rich?! One thing successful men and women do is give to charity. According to The Wall Street Journal, Zuckerberg will be giving $100 million dollars to the Newark Public School system (ironic isn’t it?). According to WSJ, Newark Public School ranks lowest in the country with only 50% of its 40,000 students graduate high school.
Way to go! One day, I want to be like you! 
In the meantime, the movie about the founding of Facebook entitled “The Social Network” will hit theaters October 1st.
Bethany Storro confesses acid attack hoax
I don’t know what would compel anyone to harm themselves unless they need mental help from a professional. The story of a Vancouver woman named Bethany Storro touched the hearts of a community when she claimed that one day, after learning of getting hired for a new job – she was elated and purchased a pair of sunglasses.
She claims that afterwards, she was approached by a woman described as African-American and asked if she wanted a drink. When she refused, the woman threw the cup in her face which actually contained acid.
After her story broke, she was scheduled to appear on Oprah but recent events have caused the appearance to get cancelled. Apparently, the acid on her face was self-inflicted. This was allegedly concluded when authorities obtained several information in her statement that weren’t making sense. Reports also claim that police found suspicious objects in her home that led to their questioning.

No more facial cover allowed in France. French senate approves burqa ban
I have always wondered about the burqa yet have not questioned it because it is a religious practice. I wouldn’t want anyone to question why I wear a cross around my neck. But the French have made it clear that face-veils covering the full face (only showing the eyes) will no longer be tolerated in France starting next spring.
However, the hijab - a veil only covering the head with the face exposed- will not be banned. I believe that it is a step in the right direction. Simply for security and the like. It’s not saying that people who were burqas are dangerous people, it’s simply that it could be used as a means by extremist to hide their identities.

Even Google Trends had “philippine news” due to the hostage crisis that went on for over a day. Chinese tourists aboard a tourist bus was held captive by an ex-policeman named Rolando Mendoza.
Tweets and Facebook statuses from the Philippines showed worry and nervousness due to the stand-off. The hostage crisis ended when Rolando Mendoza was shot in the head after killing seven of the tourists aboard the Hong Thai Travel Tourist bus.
