(VIDEO) Iraq War Veteran Shannon Meehan, Iraq War Veteran, for Pennsylvania State Representative

The co-author of the book Beyond Duty: Life on the Front Line, Shannon Meehan, and Iraq War Veteran and suffers from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) after serving in Iraq is running for State Representative (D) in the state of Pennsylvania – Huffington Post reports.

There will be a book signing in Johnstown, PA tomorrow. I wouldn’t mind him running. In fact, I think he’s cute.. not that it is a pre-requisite but an honorable soldier like him who said, “I will continue to serve.” should be given every chance to do so in wanting to serve his country. And besides, he’s a Democrat – - GO GO GO!

Watch the video below:

That’s it! I’m moving my money. http://moveyourmoney.info

Huffington Posts’ Editor-in-Chief Arianna Huffington’s campaign called “Move Your Money” started in December 2009. It’s a campaign which was a result of the stubbornness of big banks like Citi, Wells Fargo, and JP Morgan to name a few that we need to correct. After these banks received bailout money from the taxpayers, they continue to provide lavish bonuses and charge customers as high as 30% in credit card interest rates.

I received a bill today from a credit card where I have been a member in good excellent standing for over ten years and they have the nerve to increase my interest rate to 29%!! What is that all about? I have never been late in my payments, I have always paid more than the minimum required and this is what I get? I am tired of these big banks not looking out for my interest….

That is why I am joining the campaign. I AM MOVING MY MONEY! I have accounts with big banks such as Citi and TD Bank. It’s time to show my community bank that my money belongs to them.

ELECTION WATCH: Sen. Bong Revilla: “Gusto nila akong pabagsakin.”

An audio file circulating on the Internet, featuring a voice that sounds like Bong Revilla’s, has dragged the senator into issues of election fraud in Cavite.

The reelectionist Revilla, in an interview, has denied that the tape is authentic and suggested that it may have been engineered.

He told PEP associate editor Rommel Llanes, at a dinner for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) last night, February 26, that sound bites from old recordings of his voice may have been spliced together to make him sound like he was talking about plans to cheat in the coming May 10, 2010 elections.

Has anything – or will anything change in Philippine politics? Bong Revilla Youtube Scandal

I have seen this posted on Facebook probably four times today. I listened to it and I couldn’t believe it. Whether this is true or not, it’s something to be concerned about. The voice sounds so much like Bong Revilla’s voice and I am unsure who’s behind the persona who uploaded it on Youtube but this is BIG.

Are the threats for real? Blatant cheating still around? And the cops? “Sa ‘ten ang pulis!” ?? What the heck is going on? Listen in and find out. Is this a credible recording? You decide.

Will there be hope for Manila to return to the same way that it once was?

Of course, the Philippine Elections 2010 is coming to a place near you. The candidates will give a lot of promises – a lot of lip service. It is their time to shine of course. But will you let them bribe you? Will you allow corrupt leaders to manipulate your vote just because you received P100, P200, or even P1000? Let’s hope not.

From the archives of the University of Wisconsin, here are photos of how great Manila was back in the day. Will you vote for a leader that would put not only food on your table because he/she provided you with jobs to hold? Will you vote for a leader who will make every effort to fight corruption and greed in order that the taxpayer’s money gets allocated to the projects and plans for a better Philippines? How about infrastructure improvements and INTERNATIONAL CLASS AIRPORTS to encourage foreign investments and boost tourism? Will you vote for someone who will do everything in his/her power to make Manila the great city that it once was?

Former President Bill Clinton Hospitalized

What’s with the news lately. First it was Alec Baldwin, then it was designer Alexander McQueen and now former President Bill Clinton hospitalized due to chest pains.

Former President Bill Clinton was hospitalized today after complaining of chest pains. He was rushed to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, the same hospital who provided his bypass surgery back in 2004.

According to the ex-President’s couselor, two stents were implanted today:

Today President Bill Clinton was admitted to the Columbia Campus of New York Presbyterian Hospital after feeling discomfort in his chest.

Following a visit to his cardiologist, he underwent a procedure to place two stents in one of his coronary arteries. President Clinton is in good spirits, and will continue to focus on the work of his Foundation and Haiti’s relief and long-term recovery efforts.

In 2004, President Clinton underwent a successful quadruple bypass operation to free four blocked arteries.

A stent is a wire metal mesh tube used to prop open an artery during angioplasty – a procedure where a cardiologist re-opens a blocked artery to restore blood flow to the heart.Angioplasty is also called percutaneous coronary intervention, or PCI.

Reports have now come out that the President is in good spirits after the surgery.  Get well soon Bill!

Ara Mina for council seat in QC – Hallerrrrrrrrr!!

GMANews.TV reported that Ara Mina has filed for council seat in Quezon City back in November of 2009.  Imagine your next councilor as pictured above.  Hmmmm.

What cracked me up was the interview that Mo Twister gave our lovely candidate and her response to the questions.

Wait until the video hits – 4:56 – and Ara Mina is asked about VFA.  Haha!  The look on her face was priceless.  Maybe she thought it stood for “Virgin Fa Ako!” Hahaha!

Chuva Chienes is quite excited about the elections because this will be the very first Philippine election that would be automated and this is happening a year and a few months after the first African-American President, Barack Obama was elected into office here in the United States. Full Text Transcript of President Obama’s First State of the Union

Obama: Madame Speaker, Vice President Biden, members of Congress, distinguished guests, and fellow Americans:

Our Constitution declares that from time to time, the president shall give to Congress information about the state of our union. For 220 years, our leaders have fulfilled this duty. They have done so during periods of prosperity and tranquility. And they have done so in the midst of war and depression; at moments of great strife and great struggle.

It’s tempting to look back on these moments and assume that our progress was inevitable — that America was always destined to succeed. But when the Union was turned back at Bull Run and the Allies first landed at Omaha Beach, victory was very much in doubt. When the market crashed on Black Tuesday and civil rights marchers were beaten on Bloody Sunday, the future was anything but certain. These were times that tested the courage of our convictions, and the strength of our union. And despite all our divisions and disagreements; our hesitations and our fears; America prevailed because we chose to move forward as one nation, as one people.

How many guys would have to move over – - Sources: John Edwards Has a Sex Tape

This seems to be a favorite thing to do for celebrities.  Hayden Kho from the Philippines, Edison Chen from Hong Kong, McSteamy (Eric Dane), Colin Farrell – and now…. John Edwards?

Of  course these are unconfirmed reports but according to one of Ewards’ former aides (Andrew Young – a once loyal aide at that) during his campaign, there is a sex tape that exists where Edwards and mistress Rielle Hunder were recorded doing “several sex acts.”… and that something so pleasingly shocking about John Edwards pouch…saying that he…

“is physically very striking, in a certain area. Everyone who sees it says ‘whoa’. She’s behind the camera at first.”

OMG!  I know many of you will be googling it as soon as you’re done reading this post.  It hasn’t surfaced yet but according to Gawker, Andrew Young knows of this sex tape discovered in an unmarked DVD while going through Rielle Hunter’s DVDs.

Andrew Young has a tell-all book that is due to come out called, “The Politician”.  Although this is not a surprise (New York Daily News published something about it back in June of 2009)

Economic Policy Open Forum – Noynoy Aquino (VIDEOS)

Now that the election is near, we need to pick out what platforms and agendas do the candidates possess. I cannot be political as that is really not my forte, I would just like to point out that I haven’t heard Noynoy Aquino speak about any issues until I saw these videos. He has always been silent and you hear Kris Aquino speaking out more about her brother than her brother himself.

Why cheating on a mistress is much more dangerous than your wife.

Ha~! I’m just getting hold of this story but seriously – they say, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned…

Did you hear the story about Charles Phillips and Ya Vaughnie Wilkins? Hmmm. No?  I bet you don’t even know who they are.  I didn’t as well until I read it tonight.

Well, here’s a 2 minute summary.

Charles Phillips is Oracle’s Co-President and a member of President Obama’s economic advisory board. Married to Karen Phillips.  Yavaughnie Wilkins is the other woman. Supposedly, they had an 8-year relationship. They lived together in an 11 million dollar mansion (while Charles was still married mind you). Everyone had assumed that Charles was no longer married when he started appearing with Ya Vaughnie in public which was not the case at all.

Could Senator-Elect Scott Brown pose a threat to President Obama in 2012?

It seems like the Republicans found a new star. Forget Sarah Palin now. She’s no longer the leading candidate-to-be for 2012. The surprising and victorious upset that Senator-Elect Scott Brown showed last Tuesday when he won the Senate seat that was once held by the late Senator Ted Kennedy is not an easy feat.

President Obama’s 1st year in Office. What has happened?

NBC also took a look back at President Obama’s first year in office.  Today marks, to the day – President Obama’s inauguration.  The excitement was hard to contain when he was sworn into the highest office in the United States – if not the world.

With all the problems he inherited, he had to hit the ground running.  With two wars, an economic meltdown, health care reform and many other things that has happened during his first year – we can’t say it was an easy year.  But what do we think?

Watch the video below as it was recalled by the Today Show.

It’s close but Massachusetts has a new Senator…Scott Brown

It became hot news all of a sudden 10 days ago when the senatorial race in Massachusetts became so tight that I had to pay attention.  The state has more registered Democrats than Republicans and according to news sources, Scott Brown (a Republican) was about to take the seat that Senator Ted Kennedy left when he passed away last year.

His opponent, Democrat Martha Coakley ran a very bad campaign that it took last minute help from President  Obama to help her pull it off.   Yet, it was too late.

Last night, Scott Brown was elected as the new Massachusetts State Senator.  I thought he looked really good.  He’s handsome.  So I looked up stuff just to find out what he’s about.  I found out that he was a previous model who “took it off” for Cosmopolitan in 1982.   That didn’t stop him from taking the victory over Martha Coakley.

I’m not even going to try to talk politics.  I just wanted to say that he’s hot.

Here’s his Cosmo Spread back in 1982.  I know it’s old news….

A heart-melting news about poverty and hunger

I remember when I posted a short film by Ferdinand Dimadura entitled Chicken A La Carte about hunger. That film already brought tears to my eyes. It was to me a mirror of a failed government trying to provide for its people. And it happens every day. 25,000 people die of hunger globally – EVERY DAY.

And then, I see that due to poverty – people have to find a means to earn a living. Earning a living collecting food scraps and re-selling them for human consumption for 50 pesos per box. Then the vendor turns around, re-cooks the scraps and sells them for 10 pesos per meal.

I don’t want to stand on my high horse and say that I will never eat such a thing because I am not in that situation. However, if and when it does happen – I could be one of the folks buying these from the vendors. But what I would do is pick the best candidate for the next Presidential Elections who will vow to make huge changes to eliminate poverty in our country. This is a sad thing to watch.

JFK photo with nude women – a hoax?

Just fresh from the oven, TMZ reported earlier that the photograph of John F. Kennedy on a yacht deck with naked women all around him was examined by forensics and was confirmed as authentic is now re-stating that the photo could be a fake.

An email was received by TMZ stating that the photo is from a 1967 Playboy Photo Shoot. A call was placed to Playboy confirmed that the photo did run in a 1967 issue.

UPDATE: 1:11 PM ET A rep from Playboy tells TMZ the photo ran as part of story titled, “Playboy’s Charter Yacht Party: How to Have a Ball on the Briny with an Able-Bodies Complement of Ship’s Belles.” She says the photo was taken in on one of the islands that make up the Grenadines (Petit Rameau).Source

If this JFK photo with nude women was ever released, life would be different today

A photograph of what is believed to be a photo of President John F. Kennedy taken in the 1950s has been published by TMZ.com. This never-been-published photo appeared on today’s post and it shows a figure on the deck of the yacht who looks like John F. Kennedy while naked women are on the upper deck and two other naked women on the side jumping into the water.

A photo that could have “altered world events” according to TMZ. Of course, if this photo was released before JFK ran for presidency in 1960, the turnout could have been different and the world may be totally different today.

TMZ had experts examine the photo and compared it to a super-imposed photo of JFK during the Democratic National Convention and the similarities are eerie.  It is believed that the photograph is authentic.

If you think Tiger Woods is suffering from harsh criticisms today, imagine what could have happened to JFK back then if this photo was ever released.

ABS-CBN.com counts down the biggest news of 2009

ABS-CBN.com conducted a poll on the biggest news that created the most buzz in 2009 and the Kapamilya online community voted the passing of former President Corazon Aquino as the biggest news of 2009 with 46% of votes. Mrs. Aquino died last August 1 after over a year of battling colon cancer. The woman hailed as Philippine’s mother of democracy left a nation in grief but revitalized the Filipino spirit. The government offered a state funeral for the former leader, but the Aquino family opted for a simpler wake and burial. But this did not prevent the millions of Filipinos from flocking to the Manila Cathedral for the public viewing. World leaders and international organizations also expressed their condolences to the Filipinos who seemed to have lost a mother. President Cory’s youngest child, Queen of All Media Kris Aquino expressed her deepest gratitude to everyone who showed their love for her mother. Kris’s brother, Senator Noynoy Aquino later announced his decision to run for the presidency in the 2010 national elections as his way of protecting and continuing his mother’s legacy of peace and progress.

Luis Manzano is not yet going to run in the 2010 elections

Many people are speculating that Luis Manzano is planning to enter politics, primarily because his parents Vilma Santos and Edu Manzano have been both involved in government for years now. But he emphasized that politics is still not on his agenda yet. “Maraming nagaakala na tatakbo ako pero hindi pa ako tatakbo for any position this coming May elections. Pero yes, I’m definitely open to politics kung feeling ko nandun na ang panawagan sa akin ng tao at kung tingin ko ‘yun ang magiging path ko sa buhay. Pero as of now, these coming elections, hindi pa.”

Comelec trims down list of presidential candidates

Only eight presidential aspirants are left to slug it out in the May 2010 elections.

Last Tuesday, December 15, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) released the names of candidates permitted to run for president next year: former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada, senators Manuel “Manny” Villar, Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Aquino III, Richard Gordon, and Jamby Madrigal, former Defense Secretary Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro, Olongapo City councilor JC delos Reyes, and religious leader Eddie Villanueva.

The filing period for political candidates ended last December 1. A total of 99 individuals filed certificates of candidacy for the highest office in the land.

But, according to Comelec Commissioner Jose Melo, several people did not make the list because they seem to lack one important requirement: the resources and political machinery to launch a national campaign.

Bernanke named Time’s Person of the Year for 2009

57955337

Everyone felt it.  The globe felt it.  The economic meltdown which started last year has been the main focus of every single person I know.  My neighbor is still looking for a job after a little over a year of being unemployed.  Other friends are still wary of being able to keep their jobs because cuts are still happening all over the corporate world.

While these are news that are still hanging, we could definitely say that the economy is “a little better” than it was a year ago.    Who are we to look at to say that he stopped the economy from free-falling?  Ben Bernanke.

Time editor Richard Stengel announced this morning on NBC’s Today that Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke is Time’s 2009 Person of the Year calling him a “real force” in the economy.

Yes, it’s still not over. With all the market fluctuations and consumer confidence still hanging on a very thin thread, there’s more work to be done. But I can agree – at least in the interim, Ben Bernanke is the perfect choice. What do you think?

Full TEXT President Barack Obama’s Speech as he accepted Nobel Peace Prize

There were conflicts on how President Barack Obama will present his speech about peace when only a week ago, he ordered 30,000 more troops to be deployed to Afghanistan. What would he say? How can he present peace at a time of war?

Many were intrigued and wanted to find out what he has to say. Huffington Post has published the speech in FULL TEXT as provided below. Make sure to watch the video at the end as well.

A Just and Lasting Peace

Your Majesties, Your Royal Highnesses, Distinguished Members of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, citizens of America, and citizens of the world:

I receive this honor with deep gratitude and great humility. It is an award that speaks to our highest aspirations – that for all the cruelty and hardship of our world, we are not mere prisoners of fate. Our actions matter, and can bend history in the direction of justice.

And yet I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the considerable controversy that your generous decision has generated. In part, this is because I am at the beginning, and not the end, of my labors on the world stage. Compared to some of the giants of history who have received this prize – Schweitzer and King; Marshall and Mandela – my accomplishments are slight. And then there are the men and women around the world who have been jailed and beaten in the pursuit of justice; those who toil in humanitarian organizations to relieve suffering; the unrecognized millions whose quiet acts of courage and compassion inspire even the most hardened of cynics. I cannot argue with those who find these men and women – some known, some obscure to all but those they help – to be far more deserving of this honor than I.

But perhaps the most profound issue surrounding my receipt of this prize is the fact that I am the Commander-in-Chief of a nation in the midst of two wars. One of these wars is winding down. The other is a conflict that America did not seek; one in which we are joined by forty three other countries – including Norway – in an effort to defend ourselves and all nations from further attacks.

No Asians for Sarah Palin – - Ouch~!

sarah_palin_2

Asians made Sarah Palin uncomfortable – - according to a report by Huffington Post. She went to Alaska to go to college only to leave after one semester. The accounts given by her father to the authors of “Sarah from Alaska” (video below) gives a different side on why she left Hawaii….

Read this:

Palin, though notoriously ill-traveled outside the United States, did journey far to the first of the four colleges she attended, in Hawaii. She and a friend who went with her lasted only one semester. “Hawaii was a little too perfect,” Palin writes. “Perpetual sunshine isn’t necessarily conducive to serious academics for eighteen-year-old Alaska girls.” Perhaps not. But Palin’s father, Chuck Heath, gave a different account to Conroy and Walshe. According to him, the presence of so many Asians and Pacific Islanders made her uncomfortable: “They were a minority type thing and it wasn’t glamorous, so she came home.”

Source

Now, let’s dissect that for a minute. What would be “unglamorous” with a minority type thing? Hmmmm.

The spoof is hilarious though. Watch the clip.
