Fans of Jessica Sanchez were wondering if the third song that was sung by the last two finalists on American Idol Season 11 had to be original or not. This came about when someone tweeted a video of the song that was sung by Phillip Phillips, entitled HOME where the finalists actually received a standing ovation from the judges.
Who was supposed to pick their last song? Was it theirs? Did it have to be originally written for the show? Could Jessica Sanchez have picked a better song than
The song was composed by Alan Pearson and Greg Holden and was performed by Greg Holden on the video that was posted.

Is Jessica Sanchez in danger of losing to Phillip Phillips? American Idol Winner Will Be…?
I’m not sure if the voting has ended for the world just yet. I spent four hours last night, together with five friends, power-voting for Jessica Sanchez. Twitter was exploding with predictions and fans supported their “predicted idol” more fiercely last night than the weeks before.
My friends and I took to phones, iPads, iPhones, computer and landline to vote for Jessica as much as we can. We hope that everybody in the world did the same thing, Mexico included.
But a website called DialIdol.com, which had influenced the results in the past and have made a pretty much accurate prediction since its inception is predicting American Idol Season 11 to be …… Phillip Phillips.

Hunk and Shirtless Ian Somerhalder follows Zac Efron’s footsteps for Penshoppe Philippines.
Penshoppe has been grabbing Hollywood A-Listers lately to promote their brand.
The last Hollywood actor to model for Penshoppe was Zac Efron which was added to the fine list of Hollywood stars to have become the product endorser. Among the Penshoppe #AllStars were Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick, and Zac Efron.
According to ABS-CBN News, Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder is the latest to become Penshoppe’s endorser and has recently arrived in Manila to do the photoshoot. The actor flew to El Nido, Palawan on Sunday.

It’s American Idol Season 11 Finale next week folks. It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for. The last two finalists are Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez.
Both are very good performers although I’m going to say something a little biased here, Phillip Phillips is a good singer, but not a great singer. I think that he may still be able to get a record contract because he does have a lot of female fans out there. He is definitely a cutie and we can’t underestimate the power of female voters. There could be a very big upset in the finale.
Jessica Sanchez on the other hand, is a fashionista (have you paid attention to her outfits on the show wearing Christian Louboutin shoes? ) and has a powerful voice that would guarantee her a record deal as well. Jessica Sanchez would be the first Asian-Latina; God-willing, to win American Idol. Never has there been – in the whole history of American Idol – a winner of Asian descent.
There also has not been a female winner since Jordin Sparks. The last five years have produced male winners and therefore, stakes are higher this time around. Jessica’s fans must vote continuously for three hours next week in order to ensure her American Idol win.

I almost sh*t my pants last night screaming when it was announced by American Idol host Ryan Seacrest that Jessica Sanchez is headed to the finals of American Idol Season 11!
I voted ferociously the night before and so did my friends. Voting parties were held everywhere from coast-to-coast to support the only female American Idol finalist left in the tight competition.
Twitter is a great venue to see the amount of support for Jessica Sanchez and last night, as I was putting updates live on my Twitter account (@chuva), I was seeing haters’ messages as well.
Phillip Phillips has a lot of female fans and when he cried during his homecoming parade, I’m sure he garnered a lot of “awwwwwww” fans. We have to be vigilant in voting next week, much stronger and fiercer. The POLL that I put out this week was correct in predicting Joshua Ledet to get the boot. I’m going to put up the final POLL for next week and we shall see where Jessica Sanchez stands against Phillip Phillips. (Crossing my fingers and toes!!!)

Jessica Sanchez wore an Oliver Tolentino Gown on last night’s performance.. What did you think of the gown?
Twitter was ablaze last night with praise to Filipino Couture Designer, Oliver Tolentino. The first time I ever heard of the designer and I wondered who he is. He supposedly designed the gown that American Idol 11 Top 3 Finalist Filipino-Mexican Jessica Sanchez.
So, I searched the web for Oliver Tolentino and here’s what I found. He is more established as a designer than I thought.
Tolentino, the favorite designer of Imelda Marcos, is a rising star known for his meticulous attention to detail in his designs. Among the Hollywood celebrities who have worn Tolentino creations are Niecy Nash (Dancing with the Stars, Clean House, The Insider) for her 2010 Emmy win; recording artist Macy Gray, Grammy winner Patti Austin, Tony winner Lea Salonga. Kimora Lee Simmons, and Vivica Fox. Tolentino, who has been called the Filipino Valentino, became the first Philippine-based designer to establish a presence in the United States, launching his Melrose Avenue boutique in West Hollywood in 2009.
Within a year of opening his Melrose Avenue boutique, he was asked to present at Downtown Los Angeles Fashion Week and was selected by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as one of nine finalists for the Oscars Designer Challenge. – Source

What did you think of the Top 3′s performances last night? Joshua Ledet, Jessica Sanchez, and Phillip Phillips exhibited their talents last night and although it wasn’t that magical (it was just blah for me), they all did their best.
Jessica Sanchez went into last night’s competition with a sore throat which probably explains why her singing wasn’t as powerful as it always is. She looked gorgeous in the Filipino-designer Oliver Tolentino gown.

Filipinos around the globe are rooting for Jessica Sanchez to win American Idol Season 11!!
Not only does she have the support the President of the Republic of the Philippines, Pres. Noynoy Aquino, Jessica Sanchez has the support of Filipinos around the globe.
For starters, Filipinos in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia are holding VOTING PARTIES tonight to fiercely vote for Jessica Sanchez after tonight’s show.
A lot of Filipino celebrities have also advocated on her behalf, creating VTRs to ask every fan to support Jessica Sanchez.
And let’s not stop there! A higher calling was also requested by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) asking the faithful to pray and vote for the Filipina-Mexican contestant. (International voters can vote through Skype and Facebook).
Megastar Sharon Cuneta tweeted her support for the finalist this morning which was re-tweeted immediately by her fans (including myself!)

Say what? Boxer Manny Pacquiao opposes President Obama’s stance on Same-sex marriage.
This piece of news didn’t surprise me. Manny Pacquiao is entitled to his opinion and his opinion did not offend me as did Miriam Quiambao‘s infamous anti-gay tweet just a few weeks ago.
A week after President Obama stated on national television that LGBT couples are entitled the same right as everyone else, Manny Pacquiao took a jab at the issue and allegedly said the following:
“God only expects man and woman to be together and to be legally married, only if they so are in love with each other.”
“God’s words first… obey God’s law first before considering the laws of man,” he told the Examiner. “It should not be of the same sex so as to adulterate the altar of matrimony, like in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah of Old.”
But what was being said now that the quoting of Leviticus 20:13 was not Pacquiao’s doing but rather, the Examiner’s journalist, Granville Ampong’s injection to the conversation. Regardless, Manny is still entitled to his own opinion.
Wasn’t he against the RH bill as well?
I do hope that people like Manny Pacquiao will at least, look at the issue as a human right issue.
There’s no reason to go head-to-head with Manny Pacquiao. There is a process to the universe and the universe knows how to teach all of us a lesson.
Meanwhile, besides the backlash he received from fans and non-fans alike, a mall in Los Angeles called The Grove didn’t allow Manny Pacquio to enter its doors after the anti-gay remark and issued a statement saying:
“Based on news reports of statements made by Mr. Pacquiao we have made it be known that he is not welcome at The Grove and will not be interviewed here now or in the future. The Grove is a gathering place for all Angelenos and not a place for intolerance.”
An appearance at Extra (U.S. Entertainment Show) cancelled his appearance on the show as well.
We shall see.

9/11 Takes Centerstage in CSI: NY Season 8 – Tribute episode reveals the old Mac Taylor
Brace yourself for an emotionally powerful premiere episode this May when CSI: NY Season 8 returns to AXN every Wednesday 10PM starting May 16. The premiere will touch on a global catastrophe close to the hearts of viewers and especially so for Detective Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise) – the 9/11 attacks which took place in New York in 2001.
For the first time in eight years, fans will get to see Mac’s wife, Claire, (Jaime Ray Newman/ General Hospital, Eastwick) appear in the series through flashbacks in the Season 8 premiere, which honours the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Mac lost Claire on that fateful day as the planes crashed into the Twin Towers where she worked and her body was never found again. With Mac considering retirement in last season’s finale, the tragedy has prompted him to leave the crime lab for the DNA lab, where he pitches in to identify the remains of 9/11 victims.
“We’re taking all of our characters back to that day,” executive producer Pam Veasy explained. “You will get to see them together. You see why Claire loved Mac, and why Mac loved premiere episode brings us back to a very different Mac Taylor, from a hardened detective who has seen the world; to a man who had much more joy and hope, a man who was in love. Viewers get a glimpse into where the sentimental Mac came from, the one who could not bear to get rid of a beach ball his late wife had blown up, simply because ‘her breath is still in there’.
There is an interesting crossover between reel and real in this tribute episode, as Gary Sinise (a recipient of the Presidential Citizen’s Medal who has been involved in several 9/11 charities) had a personal involvement in setting up the Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance. His band, Lieutenant Dan Band, raised money to complete the memorial back in 2006. Sinise, like millions of people all over the world, had his life changed by the tragedy in a profound way. her.”

Are your fingers still hurting from voting last week? Well, don’t relax just yet. You will have to vote really hard this week to get your idol to the top 2. This week is most crucial to the fans of these top remaining finalists, Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips, and Jessica Sanchez.
Word on the street is that Adam Lambert and Lisa Marie Presley will be performing on Thursday’s result show. Adam will be singing ‘Never Close Your Eyes” and Lisa Marie will sing “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet” from her new album, Storm & Grace. Meanwhile, the three finalists will be singing three songs each with the following selections: Judge’s Choice, Their Choice, and Jimmy Iovine’s Choice.
The American Idol Top 3 Contestants made their homecoming visits over the weekend and footage will be shown during Thursday’s results show as well.

The voting is going to be harder and harder as the finalists on American Idol Season 11 narrows down to a close. The three magnificent talents left after tonight’s elimination are Phillip Phillips, Josua Ledet and Jessica Sanchez.
But, can we predict the future? Can any social media help indicate who the next winner will be? Jessica Sanchez is one of the finalists where her fans immediately view her performance on Youtube right as soon as they are posted. From all her videos, she totals over 17 million views. Her Twitter following is amazing as well because she has almost 300 thousand followers which currently stands at 299,647 as of this writing. Is that telling us something? Let us not be so sure about that.

Last week, they predicted that it will be Hollie Cavanagh but the POLL can be a little tricky. Skylar Laine was booted off. But like I said, she will eventually get a contract for a country music label. That I can guarantee you.

Skylar Laine Booted Off American Idol. Jessica Sanchez remain as part of Top 4.
Last night’s American Idol Elimination Night was heart-pounding to say the least. Supporters of Jessica Sanchez were on Twitter, praying and hoping that she stays in the competition.
Personally, I voted for Jessica at least 450 times the night before. It was a concerted effort among fans. One fan tweeted: “Voted for Jessica Sanchez 1000 times last night. I’m glad my vote counted”.
Although our POLL seemed to point to Hollie Cavanagh to be the castoff on last night’s elimination round, Skylar Laine turned out to have the lowest number of votes from a total of 60 million votes.
I do think that she will succeed as a country singer and she believes it as well since she has received much support from fans from the South.
“I’m so happy that the South was rooting for me,” Laine explained. “Country fans were rooting for me. That’s all I want. All I want is a country group. Winning would have been great, but I just want to make an album. I want people to buy it. I want to be on the radio. “Miranda Lambert, my idol, didn’t win ‘Nashville Star.’ She got third, and look at her now — winning everything, pretty much. I’m just so happy to be here. So humble and just so thankful for everything.”
I think she will be fine.
The goal for next week? Vote for Jessica Sanchez until my fingers turns blue!!

PREDICTION: Who’s going to be voted off from American Idol’s Top 5 Tonight?
I may not agree that Hollie Cavanagh will be the next one to go during elimination night on American Idol tonight but the voters on our poll seem to suggest so. I thought she sang better than Skylar Laine last night but the judges seem to disagree with that.
On our poll that we are taking this week, almost 56% of the votes are thinking Hollie Cavanagh will be eliminated.
Last week, the polls did say Elise Testone and they were right. Do you think the voters will be correct this week? Who do you think will be on the bottom 2?

How could you not love a real person like Lea Salonga? Miss Lea Salonga has been an inspiration to many people around the world, not only to Filipinos but to other cultures as well. She embodies class and integrity.
She has a twitter account with almost a million followers. She tweets about her opinions as well about the RH Bill, current events and tweets fun things like “There are days when pajamas are the only appropriate thing to wear. For me, that day is today. =)”
But the most striking that caught my heart was her show of love and support for the LGBT community sparked by the issue raised by former Miss Universe Runner-up, Ms. Miriam Quiambao who was adamant in injecting her religious beliefs to the gay community that she tweeted some very harsh words that resulted in a backlash among the gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgenders around the globe.
Without naming any names, Miss Lea Salonga came to the defense of the LGBT community us and simply tweeted the following:
As a gay man, I applaud her for using her voice to support who we are. I’m sure that she was exposed to the LGBT community way earlier and also received much support on Broadway (you know how we love broadway songs!!!) while working on Miss Saigon.
The best tweet I saw was when someone asked her if she has something against gay people – - this is what she tweeted in return:
BRAVO!!! Ms. Lea Salonga, I cannot love you any more than how I love you today. Kudos!!!

We still have four weeks left before the American Idol crowns its winner for the 11th season. Who do you think deserves the crown? There have been four guys who took the title in the last four years. Is it time to hand the title back to a woman? If so, who do you think the winner should be? Akon already said that he will sign Jessica Sanchez and that’s the reason why he wants her booted off the show. Because if she wins, Jessica has a contract to fulfill with American Idol. I have a crush on Phillip Phillips but I have to let go of that for now.
I vowed to take a poll all the way to the finale. I am encouraging all my readers to continue voting for Jessica Sanchez. When I took the POLL last week, the people voted for Elise Testone and sure enough, she was booted off the show.

Akon Wants Jessica Sanchez Voted Off American Idol. Why? Find out. (VIDEO)
Akon, who recently guest mentored on Idol, says (Jessica) Sanchez is by far his favorite contestant this season. “I know I shouldn’t be saying this, but I kind of want her to get voted off so I can sign her,” Akon told E! News at the Billboard Latin Music Awards in Miami.
“She’s beyond the talent that’s supposed to be there,” the R&B star gushed. “I think she’s overqualified, I really do.”
“And she’s only 16,” Akon continued. “Like, I’ve been around a lot of superstars. I haven’t seen anyone at that age sing like that.”

6-year-old Ethan Walmark from Westport, Connecticut plays Billy Joel’s Piano Man – GOES VIRAL!! (VIDEO)
This is something that will warm your heart. I saw this video today and was amazed by 6-year old Ethan Walmark, playing and singing Billy Joel’s Piano Man. You see, Ethan suffers from autism (struggling with social interaction). The kid has an amazing talent for music and sings amazingly beautiful with his dad, I think. And I love Billy Joel’s song so it easily connected with me.
I have a niece who suffers from autism as well and she has a great talent for painting and drawing. It proves that even if these kids appear that they are not paying attention, there’s really something inside of them and understands us like any person does.
