Of course I don’t want to jinx it. I am a Jessica Sanchez fan. I do think that she has a chance in becoming the next American Idol Season 11 simply because of all the support she is getting.
Five Reasons Why She Could Take the American Idol Title:
- We’re due for a female American Idol win. There hasn’t been a female winner in the last five years.
- She has an amazing voice!
- She’s a fashionista!
- Never has there been an American Idol of Asian descent.
- She deserves it and she’s got a huge fan base!

Hunk Derek Ramsay Confirms Breakup With Angelica Panganiban via Twitter.
Tulfo Brothers including TV News Program T3: Kapatid, Sagot Kita! suspended by MTCRB for 20 days.
An order by MTCRB was issued on May 10th to suspend T3: Kapatid, Sagot Kita! for a total of 20 days due to the threats uttered by the Tulfo Brothers Erwin, Raffy and Ben against Raymart Santiago and his wife Claudine Barretto due to the incident that occurred at NAIA 3.
The president and CEO of TV5 Atty. Ray Espinosa is against the suspension calling it “illegal”. He said that the actions of the talents should be separated from the show T3. He also said that they will comply but will file a case to question the constitutionality of the suspension saying that the order is a violation of the freedom of the press.

Missing from the show, T3 Kapatid, Sagot Kita! are the Tulfo brothers Raffy, Erwin, and Ben after being suspended by TV5 management for violating the Code of Ethics when the hosts threatened Raymart Santiago and Claudine Barretto live and on the air after the incident that happened at NAIA 3. The brothers have been suspended for 2 days.
They are being replaced temporarily by brother Mon Tulfo, Martin Andanar, and Atty. Mel Sta. Maria.
TV5 had issued an official statement stating:
“While we understand the emotions at play during the broadcast, News5 does not and will never condone such behavior.
“It was not only uncalled for but also runs counter to the established Code of Ethics that we all strictly adhere to.
“We are taking necessary actions to deal with this lapse in judgment on the part of the Tulfo brothers and assure the public that we remain committed to objective and impartial journalism.”

DJ Mo Twister (Mohan Gumatay) has been successful in trying to stay in the public eye even though he is no longer in the Philippines. He’s been in the news lately. First, he was in the news because of DJ Mojo accusing him of being “fraudulent, physically and verbally abusive”.
Mo Twister is notorious for creating buzz.
This time, he and his fellow Good Times co-hosts on Magic 89.9 decided to trend something on Twitter. They decided to use the hastag #Charice and PempengcoSexTape. The hashtag trended for several hours which actually generated a response from Charice herself.
MTRCB: Tulfo bros’ show may be charged in violation of Section 3(c) of Presidential Decree 1986 for ‘indecent’ utterances
The threatening words uttered by the Tulfo Brothers on “T3 Kapatid, Sagot Kita” has gotten the attention of MTCRB and may be charged in violation of Section 3(c) of Presidential Decree 1986 for “airing scenes and utterances”. The younger brothers of the elder brother, Ramon Tulfo (Erwin, Ben and Raffy Tulfo) have apologized for making threats on national TV. The threats made Raymart Santiago fear for his and his family’s safety. They are looking into filing charges against the threats made against him.
Meanwhile, TV5 has issued a statement regarding the incident saying:

It’s hard to even imagine that rising star Xian Lim was a chubby kid when he was growing up. From his interview with Janice de Belen on Showbiz Insider Report, we found out that he was bullied at a very young age and was sometimes forced to eat his lunch inside the rest room to avoid being ridiculed and bullied at the school cafeteria. But look who’s laughing now? That little ugly duckling has turned into a swan.
Alexander Xian Cruz Lim Uy is a Filipino-Chinese model and actor, also known as Xian Lim. He landed his first major acting role in 2009 when he was cast in the TV adaptation of the film Katorse. He was studying Management at the University of the East where he was also a member of the university’s men’s basketball varsity team.
Lim is known for his hosting at Binibining Pilipinas 2012
Lim is a contract artist of Star Magic. He starred in a few minor roles before landing a lead role in Katorse. In 2010, he got a supporting role in Rubi as Luis Navarro.

Radio and TV host Mon Tulfo was involved in a fist fight against husband and wife Raymart Santiago and Claudine Barretto at noontime Sunday, May 6, 2012 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.
According to some witnesses, the actress, together with his husband Raymart Santiago, arrived in Manila around noon today from their Boracay vacation but their baggage were missing. Claudine Barretto was reportedly pissed-off and started scolding and cursing a Cebu Pacific staff.

How is it that any celebrity couple’s relationship that ends becomes news?
That’s the case anywhere. Be it here in the U.S. or anywhere else in the world, a break-up, a divorce, or anything tragic that happens to celebrities become news. Why? Because regular people delight in the fact that celebrities are just like us. They are no different.
Those little issues you have to deal with against your partner (like leaving the toilet seat up, leaving the toothpaste cap undone, etc.) are the same issues they deal with. Sure, they have more money than you but everything is relative. I’m sure that they have bigger expenses than you.
Derek Ramsay and Angelina Panganiban have been in the “break-up” category since they got together. But they have weathered the storms and have stayed together despite of all the rumors surrounding their relationship. Yet, this is the first time that Derek has admitted that they are “going through stuff” at the moment. When those words are uttered, usually you can prepare for the inevitable.
Then came the news about John Lloyd Cruz and Shaina Magdayao‘s split that supposedly happened months ago. (At least this one I expected. Sometimes, when you break up once – it means that there was something worth breaking up for. If you get back together, usually you break up once more).

Miriam Quiambao experiences backlash from Tweet about LGBT and the devil. VIDEO)
Miriam Quiambao is not a stranger to all of us. She was the one so famously almost got us the Miss Universe crown back in 1999.
Well, I saw the show “Tonight with Arnold Clavio” discussing the change in the Miss Universe Pageant rules to accept transgendered women. The guest was Naomi Fontanos, Chair for Society of Transsexual Women of the Philippines or STRAP, and Miriam Quiambao.
Although I disagree with Naomi’s claim that they consider themselves “natural-born women”, Miriam’s response was quite offensive. It was the usual injection of religious belief into the conversation and I was kind of taken aback specially when she said that she wasn’t the one who said it but God did.

Well, she wasn’t content with that. She went on to Twitter and tweeted the following after an appearance with Boy Abunda‘s The Bottom Line:
“Homosexuality is not a sin but it is a lie from the devil. Do not be deceived. God loves gays and wants them to know the truth”
She immediately received a strong backlash from the LGBT community (most specially the gays who supported her during her Miss Universe competitions). She went and apologized saying,
“I’m sorry LGBT. Perhaps I was too harsh with the words I used. Will do my best to be more sensitive. #respect #nobodysperfect”
Later on, after more tweets she said:
“I’m sorry that the truth offends some people but it is truth that comes from God. The truth will set you free. Love you.”
“Mahal ko ang LGBT. That’s why I am sharing with you the truth. If you are not ready for it, please don’t shoot me. I am just a messenger.”
I don’t know if you all remember Carrie Prejean for Miss USA.

ABS-CBN’s “Walang Hanggan” is still the best teleserye ever!!!
Literally, it took me a few months to catch up on the hottest television series sweeping the Philippines. I had all the shows recorded on my DVR and had to start it from the very beginning, prohibiting my friends from telling me anything about the story line.
Yes, it’s ABS-CBN’s “Walang Hanggan”, starring Coco Martin (Daniel), Julia Montes (Katerina), Richard Gomez (Marco), Dawn Zulueta (Emily) and powerhouse veteran actors like Susan Roces and Helen Gamboa.
I was in Chicago back in February when one of my friends whom I was staying with, watched an episode of the show. He was soooo excited that it made me wonder what the show was all about.
Now, I am finally caught up and still waiting for that DNA testing to occur to find out if Daniel is really the son of Marco and Emily. The last episode gave me chills when Nathan (Paulo Avelino) found out that Katerina is staying with Daniel at the old mansion Katerina’s family used to own. I can’t wait for tonight’s episode!
Anyone out there watching “Walang Hanggan”? Or maybe a better question is, “Is anyone out there NOT watching “Walang Hanggan”?

If you think the rift between Nadia and Anabelle is bad, how about the rift between Cristine Reyes and Ara Mina?
Every family goes through this. Well, not every family but most families do. Dispute over money could change any individual to an evil, conniving person.
Ara Mina, is the 32-year sister of Cristine Reyes, 23. They are normally sweet to each other but dispute over payment for their mother’s house apparently released the venom of the rift.
Media reports say that the house, which is in Cristine’s name, had a downpayment of P1 million provided by Cristine, and monthly payments of $3.2 million provided by Ara Mina. Cristine is demanding that Ara Mina pay half of the downpayment. Cristine has requested that Ara Mina give her the SUV in replacement of the P500 thousand that she is demanding. The text messages are so revealing that anyone reading it would probably cringe in disbelief.
Here are a couple:
“Kung ayaw niyo manggulo ako sa buhay niyo, bayaran utang niyo sa akin. Kung wala kayo pangbayad, ibigay niyo hinihingi ko.”
“I’m sure ibebenta mo ‘yang laspag mong katawan na pinagsawaan na ng lahat. Daig pa aso sa sobrang kati.”
OUCH!!!! The latter text prompted Ara Mina to file a libel case against her sister. Admitting that this is not the worst rift that they have ever had but she thought that bringing this matter to court would teach her little sister a lesson.

It was just revealed that Gary Valenciano will be the 3rd mentor / judge on X Factor Philippines.
Joining Charice and Martin Nievera, the singer was excited to be a part of the reality / talent competition. Hosted by KC Concepcion, X Factor is the next reality / talent competition to be launched in the Philippines.
“I’m flattered talaga na pinili ako bilang isa sa mga judges. X Factor kasi iba din yon. Yung X factor na yon, kaya siya X di mo masasabi kung sino ang may X na yon. Maaaring sasabin ng tao what does the X stand for? We don’t know but it’s all going to be seen. It’s going to be experienced and interpreted in the contestant’s own way and the judges will see that. A balut is a fertilized duck embryo that’s boiled alive and eaten in the shell. King of Comedy – Dolphy – Assures the public that he’s okay.
Dolphy, known as the King of Comedy in the Philippines issued a video that was shown on The Buzz yesterday assuring his fans that he is doing well. Rumors about his passing have surfaced since news about his health were unclear in the past weeks.
This time, the Comedy King made an appearance through a video and said:

Piolo Pascual doesn’t hide the fact that he’s a born-again Christian. He now admits that he wants to become a pastor someday.
In an interview with Wilson Lee Flores, Piolo admitted being drawn to serving as a pastor but was told by his pastor from Victory Christian Fellowship that he is where he needs to be at the moment.
And he even contemplated on joining the priesthood!!

Mariel Rodriguez reveals possible cause of rift between Robin Padilla and BB Gandanghari.
Pep.ph interviewed Mariel Rodriguez after her appearance on Paparazzi last week. She revealed on the interview that plans to have a reunion for the Padilla family was scrapped due to the rift between Rustom (BB Gandanghari) and Robin Padilla.
She revealed her assumptions would have to have been the shock that Robin felt when he saw his little little brother…eheste.. sister BB Gandanghari wearing a two-piece bikini bathing suit underneath a dress/skirt.
It was unclear whether this was the reason that caused the rift among the Padilla siblings but as of right now, Mariel confirms that the brother/sister/brother are still not in speaking terms.

Derek Ramsay confirms offer from TV5 but have not signed a contract just yet.
With all the network transfers going on today, much of the celebrities from ABS-CBN are being lured to TV5 without resistance from ABS-CBN. Hunk Derek Ramsay is the most recent talent to be lured but he says that if he transfers, it will not be about money.
Seriously? Money is always the reason. Why would you move somewhere else for the same pay?
“Like I said, everyone is saying that it’s because of money. No, it’s not.
“Actually, the offer from TV5 is a project that they’re willing to give me.
“That will probably convince me because it’s designed with my personality, my interest—which I’m always looking forward to Channel 2.
“Unfortunately, wala, no opportunity was given.
“Ang tagal ko na ring wala TV, sa Channel 2.
“So, we’ve decided na the best option here for now is for me to not sign.
“Then, the family will decide on what we’re going to do with my career after I get back over the week.”
