Election Philippines 2010 Poll – See the most current results
Pretty soon, the candidates for the Philippine Elections in 2010 will be able to campaign. The official start of campaigning is about to start for the elections that will be held on May 10, 2010.
Chuva Chienes is quite excited about the elections because this will be the very first Philippine election that would be automated and this is happening a year and a few months after the first African-American President, Barack Obama was elected into office here in the United States. People wanted change and they needed change. That’s what swept Barack Obama into office. No more “Politics as usual” – - the masses are looking for substantial changes, ending corruption, eliminating poverty, jobs jobs jobs, and more jobs.
Here’s our chance. The Philippines is hungry for change.

Naknangpatingnamaybelo! Woohoo! This is very good for my ego. I finally earned some bragging rights in blogging.. haha! The last time I checked the-then-published, Best of Philippine Blogs of 2009 was during the second quarter when PinoyMoneyTalk.com published back in August of 2009.
Chuva Chienes was extremely proud because we made it to the TOP 50, using the rankings based on Alexa Ratings. We not only stayed at the TOP 50, we jumped % points and ended up as Number 18! Woohoo!!
Like stated on his blog, the rankings is not dependent on how long the blogger has been blogging because several blogs made it to the list and the blogs were started in 2009.
We were also included as #5 in the “Breakthrough Blogs of 2009″. I also would like to congratulate DailyContributor.com (#4) because I only noticed their blog last year and it zoomed to the top of the traffic and ranking charts! Way to go!! And to my fellow blogger friend, PinoyAmbisyoso.com (#29) who also made it to the TOP 50 list.

Good evening ghels and gays… and those who are in between. Hahaha! Eto na naman po ang inyong lingkod na si Ate Chuva. I am responding to our fourth letter-sender, “Soon-to-be Fairy Tale Villain” who sent us a letter asking for our readers’ help in sorting out her issue. Medyo borderline mistress and infidelity ang topic naten. It seems to be the hot item for the year. Look at Tiger Woods, Kris Aquino, John Edwards, Manny Pacquiao. These celebrities and politicians are headline news these days. At baket? Because of one thing and one thing only. It all relates to infidelity.
Konting background para sa mga hindi nagbasa ng sulat ni “Soon-to-be…”
Isang babae si Fairy Tale Villain. From reading her letter, mukhang may bahid ng ka-byaningan ang dugo ng letter-sender naten dahil sabi niya ay nagkaroon na daw siya ng “girlfriend” before. Suriin natin ang sulat niya.
Clue number one:
i guess every girl wants to be the princess in their own fairy tale, but what if you’re thrown in a situation wherein you find yourself to be the wicked step mother or the evil step sister – sort of the villain you love to hate in every fairy tale story you have read?
Okay. She gave me a hint that she’s a girl.
Clue number two:
galing ako sa isang relationship with a girl at nun naghiwalay kami eh naging malungkot ako…
Bingo na tayo. Byaning siya! Hmmm…
Anyway, she is asking for advice dahil nakakilala ulit siya ng bagong gurl. And they enjoy spending time together, holding hands, chorva-chorva (press release: wala pa raw nangyayari… asus!) Now that they have known each other for a while, Soon-to-be is falling in love with her new friend.
So what, di ba? Why can’t she fall in love. Everyone is entitled to loving another. Same sex, opposite sex, sex toy, or middle sex… it’s all the same. We can fall in love. Her problem is…. the girl she’s falling in love with is already attached. Attached = may ka-relasyon na. Attached = hands off. Attached = she’s already taken. Gets?
How did I know that? Because she said:
and it is against my rule to hang out, worse to fall for someone who is soooo taken already and very much in a relationship.
She wants to pursue whatever she’s feeling because of these reasons:
nami-miss ko po sya pag di ko nakakausap or nakakatext, at masaya ako pag magkasama kaming dalawa… anu ba ang dapat kong gawin? my mind tells me to STOP, but my heart tells me another thing…
Okay, so we know three things.
- She’s a lesbian
- She’s falling in love with a girl
- The girl is already in a relationship
The part that is missing is: Nasaan ang jowawitz ng gurl? Does she know the girl’s girlfriend? Where is the girlfriend when they are hanging out together? Is she with them? May kulang pero sasagutin ko na rin.
Here’s my response:
Dear “Soon-to-be Fairy Tale Villain”,
I understand exactly where you are coming from. I have been there, done that. There could be many factors why you are falling in love and I don’t know all the details but these are possible scenarios.
Maybe you are looking for a rebound. Someone to attach yourself you dahil naghiwalay kayo ng ex-girlfriend mo.
Or, maybe you are simply lonely. Nalulungkot, naghahanap ng kausap, kasama or even just someone to talk to.
In any case, here’s my advice. Masanay ka na dahil seryoso ‘to.
I have always given this advice to people because I think it’s the best way to tell them not to go forward with something that they know is wrong. Believe me, I don’t judge. That’s not my job. My job here is to tell you that with every action that we do in our lives, there is a reaction. You can call it karma, you can call it universe, you can even call in God. That is up to you. But it is all the same.
Read the Bible, the Koran, Buddha-Darma… you will see the same message.
Christianity : “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.” Matthew 7:12
Buddhism: “Hurt not others in ways that you yourself would find hurtful.” Udana-Varga 5:18
Confucianism: “Try your best to treat others as you would wish to be treated yourself, and you will find that this is the shortest way to benevolence.” Mencius VII.A.4
Yoruba (Nigeria): “One going to take a pointed stick to pinch a baby bird should first try it on himself to feel how it hurts.”
Islam: “None of you [truly] believes until he wishes for his brother what he wishes for himself.” Number 13 of Imam “Al-Nawawi’s Forty Hadiths.”
You get the point. Iisa lang ang rule ng universe. Huwag nating gawin sa kapwa natin ang ayaw nating gawin sa atin. And believe me when I tell you this, if your “action is good” – the “reaction is better”. And if your “action is bad” – the “reaction is worse”.
I am not going into the details to tell you na kapag ginawa mo ‘to, kung ano anong mga sakuna ang mangyayari. Again, that’s not my job. My job here is to help you decide kung ano ang gagawin mo. The rules of the world provided above gives you as to what the universe, God, or karma expects you to do. And when you don’t follow, the reaction will teach you the lesson.
Why do I believe that? Because I have been through it. Mas mahirap matutunan ang leksiyon kapag hindi mo pa nararamdaman kung papaano paluin ng tadhana. Naranasan ko na ang karma. Sabi nga ng kaibigan kong si Chuvaness, ang tawag ng iba diyan “USOG!” Hahaha! Pinagdaanan ko na ang hagupitin ako ng leksiyon. And that is what I’m trying to avoid for your sake.
Like I’ve said to many people. What we do unto others swings like a pendulum…. it swings out, but it always (and definitely) swings back. Fairy Tale Villain, that means if you throw love, you will get love… and if you throw something else, you will get something else. Think about it.

The letter arrived late last night and while reading it, I realized that this is very timely because the “Butse Gang” believes that 2010 will be MISTRESS YEAR. As in, walang pakialamanan! Hahaha! AGB Mega Manila TV Ratings Jan. 15-18: Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo debuts at No. 2 behind 24 Oras
ABS-CBN’s newest primetime drama series Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo premiered last night, January 18, with a very impressive 34.4 percent to land in second place behind GMA-7’s 24 Oras, which posted a rating of 35.7 percent.
Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo boasts a powerhouse cast: Kris Aquino, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Coco Martin, Gabby Concepcion, Albert Martienz, Gina Pareño, Jaclyn Jose, and Maricar Reyes.
This new Kapamilya soap went up against GMA-7’s The Last Prince, starring Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal—considered closest rival of the Kimerald tandem. The Kapuso fantaserye managed to hold its own by posting a respectable 31.7 percent to grab fourth spot, behind Darna’s 32.9 percent.
Completing the Top 5 was ABS-CBN’s reality show Pinoy Big Brother Double Up, which generated a 31.1 percent rating.
Brett Favre and “Pants on the Ground” – General Larry Platt’s American Idol Audition
I’m sure you’ve seen the audition tape of General Larry Platt who, first of all was too old for the audition but for entertainment purposes was allowed to present his song anyway.
The song entitled “Pants on the Ground” cracked you Mary J Blige so hard and the judges just couldn’t stop laughing through the whole thing. They even sang with him.
Anyway, you know that it’s going to catch on and it did.

PART 2: Kris Aquino asks for “time and space” from husband James Yap

“The marriage between me and James is not just between the two of us. In a way, I’m very lucky kasi ang support system namin ay very solid. He [James] can call Noy anytime because he’s more comfortable talking to Noy dahil lalake siya. I have three married sisters na all… two [whose marriages] are more than 20 years, one going on her 20th year, I think, maybe 18th, 19th year. So, stable ang mga relationships nila. So, meron mga gumagabay sa amin na maayos.
“Pero, Boy, I can’t lie to all of you. Kasi iko-contextualize ko rin po. Noy told me when I was saying, ‘Noy, I’m so sorry na yung marriage ko gagamitin pa para batuhin ka,’ ang sinabi ni Noy sa akin, ‘Kristina, kalimutan mo yung kampanya. Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez last sung in a concert together at the Araneta Coliseum in 2009. Once again they will sing of love in a concert called One Amore Time to be held at the SMX Convention Center this coming Valentine’s Day.
What’s different about this concert from last year’s is that “this one is playing with a whole concept of a soap opera which really is our life story,” Martin revealed on Startalk yesterday, January 16. “So the music will be a little bit more Latino-inspired.”
Kris Aquino admits trial separation with husband James Yap
Why does some relationships work and not others? I was just speaking to a friend of mine today about that. I admire the people whose marriages have lasted for years and they still continue to show their love and affection for each other. Like these two people at work. They both work for my company and they are probably in their 60s. Every time at lunch time, they will go out and take their lunch hour together. Once they step out of the building, they will hold hands and walk hand-in-hand as if they’re in love for the first time. Yet, other relationships, as much as they try – can’t seem to work itself out.
I’m not saying that Kris Aquino should totally get her marriage to James Yap annulled. But she does have to put lines around her territory and if it will take a trial separation for her to do it, so be it. And I’m glad that she actually mentioned that this will be the first and last time she’s going to mention anything about their marital issues and I hope she means it. Most specially now that Noynoy is running for the highest position in the country.

Chuvahotness # 18, Coco Martin has become very busy ever since he crossed over from independent films to mainstream television. With his hectic schedule, Coco said that he doesn’t even have time to go on dates. “Marami na akong napagdaanan tungkol sa love life. Nandiyan lang ‘yan. Maraming pwedeng makilala at ligawan. GMA-7 offers two new star-studded afternoon soaps
Magkasunod na magpa-pilot ang dalawang bagong Sine Novela ng GMA-7 sa kanilang Dramarama Sa Hapon block. Ito ay ang Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak, na papalit sa Kaya Kong Abutin ang Langit, at Ina, Kasusuklaman Ba Kita?, na papalit naman sa Tinik Sa Dibdib.
Parehong TV remake ang dalawang bagong afternoon soaps na ito ng Kapuso network.
Ang Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak ay remake ng 1990 film ni Lino Brocka, na pinagbidahan nina Dina Bonnevie, Christopher de Leon, Charo Santos-Concio, Eddie Garcia, Allan Paule, and the late Francis Magalona.
Ang Ina, Kasusuklaman Ba Kita? naman ay remake ng 1985 film ni Pio de Castro III, na tinampukan nina Lorna Tolentino at ng yumaong aktres na si Rita Gomez.
Star Cinema reveals box-office gross of their 2009 films
The films of Star Cinema for 2009 earned a total of P1.135 billion, based on figures provided by ABS-CBN’s film production outfit. PEP met with the Star Cinema executives of Star Cinema—namely Star AdProm director Roxy Liquigan and Star Cinema & TV Synergy Specialist Mico del Rosario—earlier today, January 15, at the ABS-CBN compound to discuss how their films did last year.
You Changed My Life, the Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz-starrer, was once again a Valentine hit with its gross of P208.8 million. Star Cinema has promised that the love story of Laida Magtalas and Miggy Montenegro will continue, still with Cathy Garcia-Molina at the helm, but they have no definite date yet for its release.

Pokwang denies report that Wowowee will be reformatted
May balitang lumabas na magre-reformat diumano ang noontime variety show ng ABS-CBN na Wowowee, hosted by Willie Revillame. At sa pagbabagong-bihis daw nito ay magbabawas din diumano ng co-hosts.
Nakausap ang comedienne na si Pokwang kagabi, January 14, sa taping ng gag show na Banana Split. Since isa si Pokwang sa co-hosts ng Wowowee ay tinanong namin siya tungkol sa kumakalat na balita.
Magre-reformat nga ba ang Wowowee at magtatanggal ng co-hosts?

During a visit to the set of Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo, Kim Chiu told ABS-CBN.com that most of her wardrobe for the soap is comprised of sexy outfits to match her recent transformation into a mature young actress. “Oo nga e, sobrang iiksi ng mga damit ko dito, talagang super short shorts, mga pasexy na dress ganon. Kaya nga sabi ko, ’Ay ’di pwedeng magkapeklat!’ Pero nagkapeklat-peklat na ako dahil sa mga production numbers sa ASAP.”
