Wondering what the iPad 3 looks like? More ‘iPad 3′ prototype parts show up, we go hands-on – Engadget Galleries

Not so sure I bought my iPad 2 at the right time when the release of the iPad 3 seems to be imminent this month.

Engadget has gotten a hold of the iPad 3 Prototype and have been dissecting and comparing it to the iPad 2.

This is just one photo.  You can see the reset of the comparison  via Engadget Galleries

iPad 3 – Release Date – March or April 2012? Is it time to sell my iPad 2?

Yes, Adele said so!  Rumor has it!

There has been a lot of speculation on the date iPad 3 will be released.  I, for one – cannot believe that there will already be an iPad 3 since I just got my iPad 2 a couple of months ago.

My iPad 2 is fine and I love it!  I don’t think I will be ready to sell it and purchase an iPad 3 just so that I could be cool.  I’m not made of money.

Yet, it any case – if you haven’t owned a tablet before and are seriously considering getting into the tablet craze, I would surely recommend getting an iPad.   I do more in my iPad now than I do in the computer.  And many apps are becoming available for use with the iPad.

They have promised more improvements on the iPad 3 or iPad 2S depending who you ask,  (hello expandable hardrive!) including a bigger retina display,

Wikipedia worldwide blackout to occur Jan 18, 2012 @ 5:00 UTC in Protest of SOPA and PIPA

If you visit Wikipedia’s main page today, you will see a glaring warning about a blackout that is to occur in less that 16 hours.  Wikipedia will be taken off line for 24 hours.

Here’s what they published on Monday, January 16th:

Today, the Wikipedia community announced its decision to black out the English-language Wikipedia for 24 hours, worldwide, beginning at 05:00 UTC on Wednesday, January 18 (you can read the statement from the Wikimedia Foundation here). The blackout is a protest against proposed legislation in the United States—the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the U.S. House of Representatives, and the PROTECT IP Act (PIPA) in the U.S. Senate—that, if passed, would seriously damage the free and open Internet, including Wikipedia.

This will be the first time the English Wikipedia has ever staged a public protest of this nature, and it’s a decision that wasn’t lightly made. Here’s how it’s been described by the three Wikipedia administrators who formally facilitated the community’s discussion. From the public statement, signed by User:NuclearWarfare, User:Risker and User:Billinghurst:

It is the opinion of the English Wikipedia community that both of these bills, if passed, would be devastating to the free and open web.
Over the course of the past 72 hours, over 1800 Wikipedians have joined together to discuss proposed actions that the community might wish to take against SOPA and PIPA. This is by far the largest level of participation in a community discussion ever seen on Wikipedia, which illustrates the level of concern that Wikipedians feel about this proposed legislation. The overwhelming majority of participants support community action to encourage greater public action in response to these two bills. Of the proposals considered by Wikipedians, those that would result in a “blackout” of the English Wikipedia, in concert with similar blackouts on other websites opposed to SOPA and PIPA, received the strongest support.
On careful review of this discussion, the closing administrators note the broad-based support for action from Wikipedians around the world, not just from within the United States. The primary objection to a global blackout came from those who preferred that the blackout be limited to readers from the United States, with the rest of the world seeing a simple banner notice instead. We also noted that roughly 55% of those supporting a blackout preferred that it be a global one, with many pointing to concerns about similar legislation in other nations.

How do you get a new blog or your company’s website to appear on top of searches?

I remember my early days as a blogger. My first very real concern was everybody else’s concern. How am I going to get traffic? I have seen many bloggers who started blogs but then fall on the wayside because they can’t seem to get traffic to even keep their interest levels up. You see if I had not done what I did back when I first started this blog, I would probably not have the traffic that I get today. Every business out there has a website. Look up jewelry and you can find thousands of websites. How can you get to the top of the list so that your products are seen first? I have a celebrity blog, how did I manage to get my blog to show on the top of every other celebrity blogs out there?

It’s called SEO or Search Engine Optimization. I had to do it the old way. I had submitted my site to search engines such as Google and Yahoo and many other free service I could find to get traffic. Luckily, it worked for me. I don’t think it’s that easy anymore.

If you have a business that you’re trying to get off the ground or if it’s already off the ground and you want it to take off using your online medium, you need to tap into white label seo for marketing purposes. There are companies now who offer those services where campaigns are created for your company’s website or your blog that could assist you in reaching top of the search engine results ladder. I have a new blog that I just started and I am thinking, with the difficulty of getting my new blog recognized, I may have to rely on companies who provide these services. I think I should.

Guess who is on Google+ with 340K plus people adding him to their circles?

I am more active on Google+ now than I have been active on Facebook.  Why?  Because Facebook is trouble for me.  I have friends there whom I don’t like and I don’t want to unfriend them because I don’t want to cause more drama.  Besides, I like the simple layout of Google+ better than Facebook (and NO INVITATION TO FARMVILLE!!!)

While I was adding friends and family to my circles, one familiar face showed up.

It’s Mark Zuckerberg!!  The CEO and Founder of Facebook is on Google+!  And why not?  You have to know what the competition is doing to stay on top of your game right?

He has no friends yet but, he’s been added by 340K some people in their circles.   I added him too!  Hey, like I’ve always said – I’ve always had a crush on Mark Zuckerberg.  I think he’s adorably hot!

Anyway – I was just surprised but not surprised to find him on Google+.  Besides, developers of Google+ have probably been on Facebook since inception.  It’s just how it works.

After the release of Google+, Microsoft social search service called Tulalip revealed on socl.com

And the battle begins!

Facebook has taken the lead on social networks, killing forcing MySpace to trim down and sell shares to Justin Timberlake.  Friendster seems to have died as well but it does have a loyal following so I am not sure.

Most recently, Google+ was released to “invited” individuals to test out the waters and be familiar with circles and all that.  We know that Google+ (which totally behaves like Facebook) is going to be a competition to the most famous social network in the world.

Customers surprised about Netflix’s Price Hike. Any other alternative?

My Facebook wall was filled with statuses from Friends who received an email from Netflix announcing a price change to their offered subscription.

One friend had a subscription fee of $7.99 for unlimited streaming and unlimited DVDs per month.  The email had announced that they will now be separating the offered subscriptions.  Either you get pure unlimited streaming OR pure unlimited DVDs for $7.99 USD per month.  If you want both, you will have to pay twice the amount, which in total is another $5.00 or so extra per month you’re going to pay.

But what I ask is, is there any alternative?  The convenience, the low price and timeliness offered by Netflix is unmatched if you ask me.  Blockbuster stores in and around my area have shutdown their brick-and-mortar stores while their online subscription IMO cannot match Netflix’s timeliness and fees.

So my friend says, “I’m never leaving Netflix even though they just screwed me.”  Oh dear.

Can Justin Timberlake Really Save MySpace?

Justin Timberlake and his partner, Specific Media bought  MySpace for a cool $35 million dollars with plans to rekindle the dying social media site.

His manager Johnny Wright told the Hollywood Reporter recently:

“We want to bring the industry back to Myspace to really look at the talented people that have put their faces there. Whether it becomes a talent competition or something like that, those are things that we will still flesh out. We definitely want to bring the industry back to Myspace to really look at the talented people that have put their faces there.”

Plans are to be unveiled on August 17th.

Maybe, Justin’s role as Sean Parker (the founder of Napster) on The Social Network rubbed off on him and thought he could actually make a difference in the future of MySpace.   Can they do it? Let’s wait and see!

The over-elusive White iPhone to be released on Wednesday?

When I first decided to switch to an iPhone last year, it was based on the White iPhone coming out.  I knew that I had to have the White iPhone and therefore, I ditched my Blackberry (even though I absolutely loved it) just so I can get my hands on the White iPhone 4.

I waited and waited.  The news of the delay kept coming and out of frustration, I decided to get the Black iPhone 4 just because I couldn’t wait anymore and my Blackberry was acting up already.

And now comes this news now.  What the….?

Let’s all hope that this is not another ploy to get people excited but you know what is more interesting?  According to Computer World, the reason that there is great anticipation for the White iPhone is due to the biggest consumer market in the world.  Guess which one?  CHINA!

Are we years away to New World Order? Actually, iPhone sends your location to Apple twice a day

I read a book called “Holy Blood, Holy Grail” which was the book where “Davinci Code” was based.

It talks about a conspiracy theory on everything that is going on around us including a plan to have this “New World Order” where we will all be controlled by the one government that will replace sovereign nation states or some shit like that.

One story about it that I read in the book was an experiment in a military base where cash was taken away from the people participating in the experiment and were given a credit card.  The card is tracked and without it, you cannot buy anything (food, clothing, etc).  It’s an experiment about the plan to have a “cashless society”.

Uh-oh! Apple sues Samsung over Galaxy tabs, phones

My co-worker (who hates Steve Jobs with a passion) sent me the link below.  Apparently, Apple, Inc. is now suing Samsung Electronics, Co., Ltd. because of their “blatant copying” of features of their iPads and iPhones.   Wow!

I guess Apple is gunning to stop the sales of Samsung Galaxy tablets and phones.. I wonder if they will succeed.

The case was filed in U.S. District Court, Northern District of California and is Apple Inc. v. Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. et al, 11-1846.

And the war for monopoly begins….

Who knew? Apple iPad 2 sells out, beats original iPad in launch sales

The marketing genius of Apple strikes again.  iPad 2 sales exceeds original launch of the original iPad.

I’m sure Apple stocks (AAPL) will go soaring again after the good news.  I was going to get my iPad last Friday but when I heard about the delay of three-to-four weeks in delivery, I decided to wait until everyone calms down.

Are you going to get an iPad?  By Christmas, will there be an iPad 3?  Sheezawhiz.  Can’t keep up with technology these days!

iPad 2 shipping estimates now three to four weeks, retail availability hit and miss

I knew never to order the first release of any technology.  I didn’t order the first iPad.  I wanted to wait until features were added and fully dummy-tested by many before I jump into the bandwagon.

iPad 2 news came a few weeks ago for a scheduled release last Friday, March 11th.  Who would have thought that they will encounter shipping delays?  Didn’t they realize that 15 million iPad 1 have been sold and that they should have expected more people to want the iPad 2?

According to Engadget.com, Apple is now saying that shipping times will take three to four weeks.  Wow!  The original 2-3 week shipping is valid no longer.

If you got your iPad 2 in your hands, consider yourself lucky.  Some of us will have to wait until the backlog clears.  That includes me.

Finally! Apple unveils thinner, faster, camera-packing iPad 2 (First Look VIDEO)

The moment that I have been waiting for has arrived!  I didn’t order the first iPad just because it had capabilities I had wanted that were sorely missing from their initial release.

Now, after the surprise unveiling of iPad 2 (where a much more surprise at the event was the appearance of CEO Steve Jobs who is still currently on medical leave), I am geared to buy one as soon as it comes out.

Apple’s iPad 2 Event – Will Steve Jobs Make An Appearance??

The leave of absence taken by Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs have created fear among the investors on Apple.  Steve Jobs is behind all the creative products that have been produced by Apple and it is extremely noticeable when his leave of absence was announced because Apple shares took a nosedive.  This has happened each time they announce he is going on medical leave.

Oh to be Mark Zuckerberg! Dining with the Prez!

The first time I laid my eyes on Mark Zuckerberg, I already had the hots for him.  I dunno why.  I have had crushes on powerful people but Mark’s geekiness and power draws me to him.

He’s got that sexiness about him that I cannot seem to pinpoint.  Just his aura of simplicity (he wears mostly hoodies and t-shirts) and not boasting about how much power he has drives me bananas!

He had dinner with President Barack Obama including the Tech Moguls like Apple’s Steve Jobs and Google’s Eric Schmidt in San Francisco among others.

According to White House representatives, “The president and the business leaders will discuss our shared goal of promoting American innovation, and discuss his commitment to new investments in research and development, education and clean energy.”

Don’t you find him sexy?  I would be a slave for Mark Zuckerberg.  I don’t care if I have to clean his bathroom with a toothbrush.  He has that affect on me.  I keep wondering what it really is that draws me to him.   No, it’s not his billions.  He’s going to give all that away to charity anyway – I doubt he’ll leave anything to my name.

Here are photos of Mark Zuckerberg that drives me crazy:

I don’t have a foot fetish but seeing him in those Adidas slippers drives me crazy.

Alleged grim photos of Steve Jobs published by the National Enquirer stating he has 6 weeks to live.

We really hope that it isn’t true. I had a friend who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and he only lived one year after the diagnosis. He didn’t have the access to the medical expertise and technology that Steve Jobs do have.

National Enquirer reports that Steve Jobs only has six weeks to live and published alleged photos of Steve Jobs showing him looking very sick and thinly. Steve Jobs, the 55-year old boss of Apple had taken a medical leave and when he announced it, the Apple stock took a tumble.

With National Enquirer’s report today, I wonder what the stock market will do. It is very sad if it has any truth to it but we wish the Apple boss good health and long life.

Here’s the photo courtesy of National Enquirer:

New iPhone Confession App that was Approved by the Vatican has now been banned. (VIDEO)

It’s funny how I just saw this on the news last night and I think it was ABC news when they introduced the app, it was mentioned that “and… it was approved by the Vatican”. It is an iPhone App created by two priests and according to the priest being interviewed, it is really not an app to replace confession but rather a way to prepare someone before they go to confession.

The app costs (yes, it does cost something) $1.99 to utilize and it includes prayers and the format of going into confession. It has a check list on what you’ve done to your neighbors and such.

The people interviewed last night laughed at the idea and said if one is going to go to confession (wholeheartedly), they would go to church and enter the confessional. They wouldn’t look to their iPhone to prepare themselves.

Major Airlines to offer Free Wi-Fi Access to access Facebook while in flight.

Are you one of those people who can’t wait to update your Facebook status when traveling?  I personally don’t but I’m sure many people do.  Some people I know changes their status every time they fart so I’m sure someone will benefit from this.

According to Mashable, Gogo Inflight Internet and Ford have teamed up to offer free wi-fi access during the month of February but will only allow access to Facebook.  If you need to access something else other than Facebook, then you will have to pay a fee starting at $4.95 and depends on the duration of the flight, you may have to pay more.

Since most of the games are outside of Facebook and if that is the reason why you access Facebook, then you may have to pay a fee.  But if you want to post an inflight photo and change your status on Facebook – then it’s free.

Major airlines include AirTran Airways, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta, United Airlines, U.S. Airways and Virgin America.

So, remember if you are flying any of these airlines – - – it’s free for the month of February  — with the hopes that you will enjoy it so much that the next time you fly,  you will pay the fee to access the internet.

We’ll see how this goes.

This is why I don’t want to become famous. Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg obtains restraining order for stalker Pradeep Manukonda

Sheesh! I am afraid to become famous in one city let alone the whole world. Every single person in the world who has ever gone on Facebook aged over 7-years of age must know who Mark Zuckerberg is. Yes, the founder of Facebook has found himself being stalked by a guy named Pradeep Manukonda, first stalking him on Facebook and continued emails and then showing up at his doorstep, TMZ.com reports.

A restraining order was successfully filed by Mark to keep this guy away from him restricting Pradeep from going beyond within 300 yards of Mark, his girlfriend and sister.

Pretty scary man. Look at the personal note he sent to Mark Zuckerber last month… freaky!

Less than 24 hours after ATDHE.NET Domain ICE Seizure, it emerges as ATDHENET.TV

This is an interesting case of Good Cop – Bad Cop and it’s kinda crazy how this is unfolding.  There are certain locals laws as well as international ones that hold in most countries with regards to the internet.  All I know is that the servers for ATDHE.NET are located in the UK.  However, just yesterday – ATDHE.NET was shutdown by Homeland Security as they had said in the past, in order to crackdown on websites that are sharing copyrighted materials over the web to  “address the growing problem of online piracy and counterfeiting.”

Well, yesterday ATDHE.NET was shutdown as it was one of the sites listed as a target of complaints from major sports organizations filed petitions to be taken down.   ATDHE.NET was trending on Twitter yesterday afternoon after the site was seized by Homeland Security and thousands of fans expressed their discontent over the seizure.

One tweet said:

Damn you Obama! Why won’t you just leave ATDHE.net alone!!!! #atdhe

ATDHE.NET was taken down for copyright infringement, Homeland Security seizes domain. Does this serve as a warning to other sites as well?

Update: The site is back under ATDHE.ME temporarily.

ATDHE.NET was a great source for many people who either don’t have access to cable or do have access but either mobile and not at home to watch their favorite games. The viewers according to Alexa are mostly single males watching the game from school or at home. Most of the male viewers are college-educated as well.

ATDHE.NET have provided free viewing of Live Sports and Television to many users around the globe who would neither have no access because the game is occurring in a different country or not televised locally. ATDHE.NET claims that they don’t host any of the videos but rather provide online streaming links that are available on the web.

Today, the domain was taken over by Homeland Security and have now been blocked due to a take down notice filed by the copyright owners of UFC, Zuffa LLC, NBA, and Football Association Premier League.

Texting Pitfalls: Woman Falls in Fountain While Texting (VIDEO)

I guess this woman didn’t sign up for Oprah’s “No Phone Zone” or even if she did, she only signed up not to text while driving. She was texting while walking and fell in a mall fountain. Watch the hilarious video below. I am against texting while driving and walking but sometimes we get so caught up with communicating that it’s hard to avoid it.

Google Doodle Celebrates Painter Paul Cézanne – 172nd Birthday

You may be wondering what the Google Doodle for today, January 19, 2011  is all about.  I did too.  So, I saved the image and while doing so I noticed the name of the image.  It said “cezanne11-hp.jpg”.   Knowing that Paul Cézanne was a famous painter, I Googled it and found out that today would have been his 172nd birthday (19 January 1839 – 22 October 1906).

It’s a tribute well deserved.  He was one of the the painters credited for 19th century Impressionism and early 19th century Cubism.   A statement once used by Matisse and Picasso referring to the famous painter as “the father of us all” rings true.

Did you see how excited Jon Stewart got with the announcement of iPhone on Verizon? (VIDEO) Hilarious!

Many iPhone 4 users who are frustrated with the dropped callls on AT&T and simply cannot switch because they signed a 2-year contract with AT&T are probably more frustrated now with the iPhone 4 availability on Verizon Wireless on February 10th.

Although I am not completely unsatisfied with AT&T, I still wish that I would have waited until the iPhone 4 became available under Verizon. Simply put, I have to wait a year-and-a-half before I could switch.

This puts AT&T under direct competition with Verizon and I wonder if any fee changes will occur in the next two years to manage the competition. I hope so. Everyone could use any savings these days.
