“Anak ng Kumander” director cuts Valerie Concepcion’s kissing scene with Pacman

Well, I believe that it was a good act on the director’s part to take out the scene that is causing much controversy.  Someone hailed as a hero like Pacman needs to have his reputation away from controversies.  He is due to fight again and the last thing he needs is bad publicity.

Dahil sa nilikhang ingay ng kampo ni Valerie Concepcion tungkol sa kissing scene niya with Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao sa pelikulang Anak Ng Kumander, minabuti ng direktor nitong si Jose “Kaka” Balagtas na tanggalin na lang ang naturang eksena sa final cut.

Sabi ni Direk Kaka, pagkatapos kinunan ang kissing scene nina Valerie at Manny, wala naman daw siyang narinig na reklamo mula kay Valerie. In fact, nagbibiruan pa nga raw sila ni Manny before and after makunan ang eksena. Kaya takang-taka si Direk Kaka kung bakit nag-iiyak si Valerie sa TV at tila ang direktor pa ang sinisisi.

“Nagpasabi na lang sana siya at nagawan ng solusyon ang problema niya, kung problema nga ‘yong matatawag,” diin ni Direk Kaka sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal). “Kung talagang may reklamo siya at hindi niya gusto yung eksena namin, nagsabi sana siya agad. Maiintindihan ko naman ‘yon. Hindi yung idadaan pa niya sa media at doon siya umiiyak. Matino naman kaming kausapin. Huwag naman sana nilang palabasin na binastos namin siya.”

Valerie Concepcion decides not to join the MMFF parade

Good for her. I mean, she is an actress. Who cares if it was torrid kissing with Manny Pacquiao. That is not her fault. If the role calls for it, she has to do it. I don’t know what the big deal is. If Jinky doesn’t want Manny doing these, then have him quit show business. Simple as that.

Valerie Concepcion has made up her mind up not to join the float of Anak ni Kumander in the Metro Manila Film Fest Parade on December 24.

“Uh ano… napag-usapan na rin kasi because of all the issue and everything parang we decided na nga ganoon. My manager told me not to go na,” she said last night after the taping of the Kapamilya Christmas Special at Meralco Theater.

The tabloids were recently crowded with the issue about Jinky Pacquiao, wife of boxing champ Manny Pacquiao, sending an unpleasant text message to Valerie. It all started when Jinky allegedly found out about Manny’s torrid kissing scene with Valerie in the 2007 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Anak ng Kumander.

So, does that mean that she’ll be taking a break and enjoying the holidays?

“Yes! Thank you, Lord…” the Wowowee co-host said as she laughed and sighed in relief.
“Actually this year, eto yung pinaka-nakakawindang dahil hindi naman ako sanay sa everyday. Kasi may Wowowee everyday, ‘ah, teka lang, five months na akong everyday na wala akong pahinga’ Parang nakakalula pala ito, nakakagulat pala.

“Though, I’m really thankful and I’m enjoying my blessings but the thing is parang hinahanap ko pa rin yung mga sunod-sunod na araw na bakasyon kasi parang nalulula pa nga ako doon sa everyday,” she said.

Valerie Concepcion cries over torrid kissing scene with Manny Pacquiao

The tabloids were recently crowded with the issue about Jinky Pacquiao, wife of boxing champ Manny Pacquiao, sending an unpleasant text message to young actress Valerie Concepcion. It all started when Jinky allegedly found out about Manny’s torrid kissing scene with Valerie in the 2007 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Anak ng Kumander. Valerie herself received the text message and forwarded it to Entertainment Live. It read: “This is Jinky Pacquaio, I saw you with my husband in a kissing scene. How sweet! Ito ang masasabi ko, kung isa ka rin sa bumabalak na manira at sirain ang pamilya ko, hindi kita uurungan o kaya gusto mo, pupuntahan kita sa Wowowee at ipagsigawan ang kalandian mo. Balita ko, nagpahanap ka daw ng bahay. Pera ba ang kailangan mo? Subukan mo mga balak mo, lalabanan kita.”

UNAWARE OF KISSING SCENE. Reli de Leon, a close friend of the Pacquiaos, said that Jinky never sent a message to Valerie. Valerie’s manager, Becky Aguila, was also surprised, especially about the kissing scene.

“Tinangap ko itong project na ito with the understanding na si Valerie will be playing a major support role. Walang kissing scene. The most that she can do is hawakan siya [Manny] sa kamay, or yakapin siya,” said Becky.

She added that Valerie came up to her to say that the director of the movie, Kaka Balagtas, asked her to do a kissing scene with Manny.
