I don’t know who this kid is but he identifies himself as greyson97 on Youtube. When he started playing the piano, I thought.. hmmm … good stuff. Little did I know that I would see something better. He started singing Lady Gaga’s Paparazzi and I was floored. This kid is so talented and his rendition of the song was really amazing!

Our new Madonna, Lady Gaga is on the cover of Elle.  It’s amazing how she has risen to the top so fast.  She is on every tabloid, on every music awards… just doing really well!  Britney Spears on the other hand, has bounced back better than ever after her gum-chewing interview way back when.

Guess what peeps?  Both are on the cover of Elle Magazine for January 2010.  Hottest stars indeed.

Jericho Rosales dedicates songs for his ex-girlfriends

A slightly feverish Jericho Rosales still managed to arrive at the press launch of his newest album Change under Star Records. According to Jericho, he picked the album title from one of his songs, “Cool Change,” which he likens to the ups and downs of his life. “Maraming changes kasi ‘yung nangyari sa akin sa nakaraang dalawang taon, change of music style, changed my label, now I’m with Star. There’s just a lot of changes that happened particularly sa sarili ko… Sabi nila kasi dito sa ‘tin ngayon, mahal na mahal natin ‘yung pag-revive ng songs so I was really thinking of one song to revive. Nung I was in the shower, I heard this song, ‘Cool Change’ and I said, ‘Oh, it’s about time.’ I listened to the lyrics parang na-realize ko, ‘if there’s one thing in my life that’s missing, it’s the time that I spent alone,’ ‘di ba? Spending time alone is not easy [so I said,] ‘Okay, this is the time I’m going to put all my energy to music, all my energy to acting, all the ideas na pumapasok sa isip ko.”

According to reports, Michael Jackson’s album are still on the TOP ten on Billboard’s Too Pop Catalog Chart. More than 800,000 albums purchased by fans last week!

Someone said, MJ’s net worth might become worth more now that he’s gone than when he was alive. That could just be true relying on the album sales data since his death.

Selling more than 300 thousand for all his “Number Ones” album an “Thriller and “The Essential Michael Jackson” selling more than 100 thousand copies are biggies!

He has five singles still on the Top 10 list of Digital Downloads.

Michael Jackson is an icon and forever will remain with us. His most popular single which sold more than the rest with 159,000 downloads.

Ely Buendia of Eraserheads is alive and “doing well” according to his manager

Former Eraserheads and now Pupil frontman Ely Buendia is “fine and doing well.”

In a text message received earlier this afternoon, September 18, Ely’s manager Day Cabuhat disclaimed the nagging rumor circulating since yesterday saying that the legendary singer-songwriter passed away due to complications brought by his heart ailment.

I heard this through the grapevine. Apparently, our Mr. Madonna is not keen in re-marrying Madonna. There are reports that they have a troubled marriage but I haven’t been able to confirm it. The rumors about Madonna’s affair with A-Rod still cannot be confirmed even though A-Rod’s soon-to-be-ex wife is stating that she has proof!

Come out with the proof already! We are all waiting!

I do hope that Guy and Madonna stay together. They seem to have something real between them beside Rocco.

For a celebrity who’s been beaten up by the media from the start, and endure the trials that came his way, Michael Jackson is probably on the top 10 if not number 1. This is a milestone for him… to be 50 and a record of 13 Grammy’s behind his back with over 750 million records sold worldwide – he is indeed a legend.

He didn’t have it easy as we would think. From childhood, he has been battered with intrigues and scandals just by being him. I must congratulate him… he walked the road less traveled.

Whitney Houston’s comeback album delayed because drug abuse damaged vocal cords

Diva Whitney Houston’s highly-anticipated comeback album was delayed by an unforeseen problem.

I am still hopeful that Whitney can come back without a hitch this time.  She’s getting her life back on track and she should really be given another chance.  Without Bobby Brown in her life, I am hoping she can move on and become the Diva that she is.  It  may take a lot of work but she is trying.. Peeps – let’s give her a chance.

Miley Cyrus Photo Scandal, the now infamous Vanity Fair photo

She knows how to make waves. Not only does she know how publicity gets created, she does it as soon as her last controversy dies down. Yes folks, it’s all over the news and the internet newswire. Miley Cyrus was photographed digitally by famous photographer Annie Leibovitz wearing nothing but satin with her back exposed. I heard from sources that at first, she really loved the photo and her parents were even present during the shoot. Since the controversy broke out, she has retracted and stated that she is now “embarrassed”. Okay Miley — we believe that!

If you see it and compare it to other photos by youngsters during their time (Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears), there really isn’t anything to it.  So, why the fuzz?

“This huge Ricky Martin fan actually had the good fortune of sharing a sauna bath with the singer at the Grand Oberoi hotel in Kolkata. I was bloghopping again tonight. Yes, I know. I’m supposed to go to the gym tomorrow at 5:30 am but here I am and it’s almost midnight when I read about Nick Pitera. I was shocked – I mean literally. Do you know Nick Patera? Sheezawhiz!! I love Disney songs and I couldn’t help but admire it but for crying out Chuva!! I suggest try closing your eyes while you listen to the music… whew!

Filipino singer Vincent Bueno wins “Musical! The Show” in Austria

He is really quite impressive!  I checked him out on Youtube and boy, this guy can sing.  Not only can he sing well in English, he sings well in German as well!  Check him out – another Pinoy to be proud of!!

Vincent Bueno defied all odds to win the first-ever Musical! Die Show (Musical! The Show), a televised musical competition where contestants perform songs from some of the most memorable musicals, held early this morning, January 12 (last night in Austria).

The only Asian contestant among the 10 contestants, Vincent beat Eva Klikovics and Gudrun Ihninger in the finals to win the title as well as 50,000 euros (P3 million) and the chance of a lifetime.

Eartha Kitt – A truly remarkable entertainer

I went to Rehoboth Beach, DE with papa to weekends ago.  While shopping at the outlet stores, I saw a CD of Eartha Kitt.  A song included in the album is ‘Waray Waray’.  I heard of it before and wanted to listen to her sing ‘Waray Waray’ so I bought the CD.  On the way home, we were listening to the song over and over again.  But we didn’t get the chance to hear the whole CD.

Yesterday, we were travelling to Atlantic City with my maid and my assistant.  We were listening to Regine for a while and then got tired of it.  So we switched to Eartha Kitt’s CD.  This is the first time I heard the whole album and it was fantastic!!  I mean, she can speak French fluently, and also sing the words to ‘Waray Waray’ as if it was her native tongue.  So we started asking questions.  Is she American?  African?  Where did she come from?  She is a fabulous entertainer and singer.  In the middle of the song while singing ‘Waray Waray’, she mentions that she and her daughter used to stay with Mr. and Mrs. Marcos when in the Philippines.  And whenever she has a concert, Mrs. Marcos would sit in the front  and yell out, “Eartha – sing ‘Waray Waray!”  She would oblige but every time she does, Mrs. Marcos couldn’t help but sing with her every time!!

I was determined to find out Eartha’ s history and I found it!  Wherelse?  Wikipedia!!

So if you’d like to know, here’ s her mini biography on Wikipedia.  Remarkable indeed!

Happy Easter to all of you – - my friends!

I still remember – - it was back in 1985, a year after arriving here in the land of milk and honey when I first heard of her. Back in the Philippines, I was a member of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal group from and when I arrived in the U.S. I still hungered for spiritual fulfillment. Since I knew no one and very new to the Catholic church here, I relied on music to sustain my spirit. Christian music was all that I listened to. Through my weekly visits to a Christian bookstore, I came to know Amy Grant. To me, she was this pure young spirit. She was simple, very much in love with God. I loved her music cause it filled the void in me. One of my favorites is the song, El Shaddai . I watched the video of her 1983 concert when she performed this song and I have loved it ever since.

Since it is Easter, and I feel that it is a good time for me to share what I enjoy to all of you. Here s a new clip of Amy Grant singing the song El Shaddai in an updated version- – I understand now why I learned to love the artist and the song. The song still has the same effect on me, and I hope that it touches you as well. Watch this.
