Photo: This is how the vault looked like after the robbery.
Picture this. Monday, February 17, 2003 at the Antwerp Diamond Center at the heart of the Diamond District in Belgium. The heart of the most secure places in the world where rich individuals store their prized diamonds and gems. It was right after the Valentine’s Day weekend. This place is so secure, the vault is two floors underground secured with the most sophisticated alarm systems you could find including heat sensor, light sensor, motion detector and so forth.
Each of the safe deposit boxes may only be opened with a key and a three-letter combination which is only known to its owner. The room is double-locked bombproof steel door armed with a magnetic alarm and another inner door that is locked that may only be opened through a buzzer. There are security cameras in and around the hallways. The building itself was secured where no vehicle can come close to it.
This could be one cool gift for my niece

I have a niece that is turning seven next month. I have given her toys after toys after toys. It has become so monotonous for her that every time she opens her gifts for her birthday, she looks at me, kisses me on the cheek and says ‘Thanks Uncle!’ without any excitement.
I have been looking for a way to make gift giving more interesting. I have 27 nephews and nieces. Yes, granted that most of them are all grown up but I do have little ones still. I found a product that would probably change my way of giving. It is called Identity Direct, Identity Direct has over 400 personalized gifts for children. The main product is our My Adventure Book range where the child’s name, age, friend’s details, etc. are used to personalize the story. Many titles including Disney Cars, Princess, Pirates and even the new movie Ratatouille. This will be a great gift for any occasion or holiday!
I could already picture the look on her face when she starts to read the book and find familiar names of her friends and siblings on the book. I think it’s going to be cool!
